I posted in another thread about wanting to learn Hebrew and it reminded me of a joke I heard....

A rabbi is sitting on a park bench in Moscow reciting the Torah when a Russian soldier approaches and asks what he is doing. " practicing Hebrew" he replies, "it's the language of Heaven". The soldier asks "what if you do not make it to Heaven and you end up in hell instead?" to which the rabbi replies "well, I already speak Russian...."

A similar joke, told before on this forum, but not in this thread:

An elementary school teacher was teaching about whales, and happened to mention the baleen whale which was so large had a very small esophagus. A little girl automatically questioned this, as her Sunday School teacher had told her Jonah had been swallowed by a whale. The teacher said that was impossible, as a man would not fit down the whale's throat.
The girl said, "Well when I get to Heaven I'll ask Jonah myself."
The teacher asked, "What if Jonah isn't in Heaven"?
"Well then YOU can ask him."
