I am looking for someone to talk to about anxiety.I feel like nobody knows exactly what people with anxiety go through on a daily basis. It’s been 9 years, I’m ready to move on from this , but something is holding me back. I keep all my feeling bundled up inside because I feel nobody will understand. Anyone who would like to talk about this through e-mail or text and form a relationship to try and help one another, let me know. If not, I ask you say a prayer for me, and everyone who suffers from this horrible mental illness.

God bless !

Hard to explain here in detail..i would be typing for days but i will try.

First you said it started 9 years ago. Why did it start first of all ? Have you been able to determine that at all ?

Second..if you have been stressed for whatever reason for an extended time or through a traumatic event your body burns out certain nutrients like magnesium and b vitamins and others because your body believes its in danger so it does certain things to get you ready to deal with it on a physical level...you have to find out if this is part of your issue..which if it has been going on for 9 years is at least part of your problem in my opinion. These nutrients help to keep your body creating the proper hormones etc so that you think and react properly to stress. There is so much more to this, but its like someone asking you to lift a 100lb barbell when your arm is broken...you cant do it....and stress and lack of nutrients breaks you in another way which can affect you mentally through lack of nutrition whatever the cause for that lack.

Third...try to always sleep before 10 pm at night. Your body releases certain things to help heal your body/mind between 10 and 2 in the morning.

Fourth..question where the anxious thoughts are coming from..are they from a similar situation which made you nervous before..are they coming from the enemy ? Christ says to take every thought captive. Now if you cant or do not understand how to do this ask God to help you....but never condemn yourself and think its your fault.

Fifth...of course get therapy or help if you need it.

People see anxiety as a purely matter of choice...it is not.

So much more to say....if you have any questions please ask

God bless !

Hi Wade, firstly I'm so sorry you're going through this, it's an awful battle I know cos I deal with it too. Prayers for you!!

Here's what I can offer from my own personal experiences: after tons of researching, meeting a couple of brilliant health researchers and a few actual trials and errors, I've found a few things that worked for me personally.

Of course Jesus is The Ultimate help, and praying in the Holy Spirit is paramount to overcoming anxiety. The Holy Spirit that raised Jesus up to life again, can and is able to work within you, to overcome.

Having read Hopeful's explanation of the physiological processes that occur in the body, I agree with a lot of what was shared by Hopeful.

Personally I find that taking an adaptogen helps, specifically Ashwagandha for anxiety and stress, because this adaptogenic herb supports the adrenal glands, and regulates cortisol in the system, helping the body cope more and become resilient.

I noticed a heck of a difference when I ran out of it and thought oh I'm ok now, but then started to get symptoms back again.

Of course, we're all different and what works for one may not work for another, but I pray you find what works for you.

Adaptogens are so helpful because they adapt to the person, and their system. Check some out, I think Ashwagandha is the one for anxiety. I used to get the powder from Neals Yard and mix it in my porridge or yoghurt. Tinctures are good too for ease of use.

RE: Wi-fi activity - test it out for yourself, try minimising the wi-fi activity around your personal space. Test it over a 24 hour time period. Put your devices on airplane mode, even the TV. Anything connected to the wifi network. See if this makes any difference either way to your anxiety levels. Some people are sensitive to wifi, and it can present as anxiety in the person.

Same with when you're in an area where wifi is concentrated in volume. Like a supermarket.

If your testing this out reveals that wifi causes anxiety or stress in your system, try minimising exposure to wifi and spending more time around living elements, such as plants, trees, water sources, grass and soil.

I found that making these small changes helped me overcome the anxiety that was disabling me and I was able to return to full time work!

Jesus is the ultimate answer though. Things like adaptogens are supplemental, but helpful. Praying for you. Sorry for the long post. Hope you can draw in close to Christ. God Bless you Wade.

excessive anxiety, in our experience, is a lack of true Faith and Trust and living for our Holy Saviour...
when and if we come to this realization, and seek Him and His Ways, and have a true and genuine
desire to live according to His 'rules', then our human spirits and minds will begin to find and
embrace an Holy Path-Way to learn how to abide and prosper in His World/ His ways,
that will bring us into His Peace and Serenity, thus giving us a Holy Spiritual reason to live...

Any dis-ease in your body can be linked to a lack of nutrition either by way of not getting enough in your body or your inability to assimilate once you ingest it. To accuse this young man that it is his fault due to a lack of faith is no different than accusing someone who has diabetes or cancer that they have it because of a lack of faith.

Your thyroid and adrenals and seratonin which is created in your gut and more all play a part in your stress response as all are needed to create proper hormones...which is no different than if your pancreas was not functioning properly and you had diabetes....one ends up affecting your emotions and the other your blood sugar. They are both physical manifestations but people like to place anything "emotional" as being a lack of faith and i am really tired of it.

I guess if you or someone you know is sick with a disease then it is because of your lack of "true" faith.

You have just accused this young man of not having "true" faith. That is not your call to make...I believe that belongs to
Jesus. This will not help him to accuse him of this.

And correct me if i am wrong but i believe only Jesus trusted the father completely and 100 percent of the time, so at what level do you have to be to have "true" faith ?

Praying for you Wade.

I suffered from PTSD, and often had anxiety or panic attacks from my old life, but God has given me great healing for these things.

I have said a prayer for God to deliver you from this debilitating sickness. There are many that know and understand about anxiety, a few of the members here suffer from that also. "Fear not", says the Lord. I know that may sound trite but its true. Perhaps what is holding you back is fear of the unknown. Even such a place is probably better than the prison in your mind that is confining you.

The difficulty in anxiety is that it self perpetuates. Often times if I have some anxiety, such as lately I has anxiety when I tried to fall asleep. Since then I think about having anxiety when I get sleepy and make myself anxious about it.

Mixing this with people usually not getting to the source of the anxiety is what perpetuates it.
Certain personality types or situations can be more prone to it as well.

Go to credible sources to learn more about it, why it happens, the physical, psychological, emotional effects of it. Sort truth from fiction. Learn others stories and symptoms. Educating yourself is a tool to fight it. It helps remove myth and stigma making it easier to combat. Learn all of your symptoms and how exactly they manifest and make you feel. Write it all down if you have to. When you can recognize each thing as anxiety it makes feeling it easier to cope with.

To the one claiming it is a lack of faith, there is a distinction between having a moment of anxiety and having condition where your brain isn't functioning as intended.
It's true, a person feeling exceptionally anxious on something MAY be having a lack of faith, but that's not always the case, either. Fear is not a sin.
But this is not the same as a person with a condition whose brain causes anxiety at times when there is no basis for it.
There are many reasons that can cause anxiety that have nothing to do with faith. But that ruins the perverse pleasure you receive out of accusing people.

I have suffered with severe anxiety for nearly 30 years.
Every day for 30 years.

It has taken me to the depths of despair, walked for years considered suicide (even being married with 4 kids).
Spent many years asking God to kill me.

Prayer and counselling has not helped.

I am not posting the above to put a downer on you, or negate hope for healing.
Just telling my story.

I know of many people like me who have been delivered from anxiety and I thank God for that.

So I'm still here, posting away, still with anxiety.

My 4 kids are Christians, I have a ministry in church, I run a company that employs 30 people.

Every morning when I wake up I have come to realise that there must be a reason and purpose.

I lift that up to God.

Father I pray for Wade.
I ask that you heal and break the anxiety.
Whatever is causing this you will reveal it.

I ask this in Jesus name.
