LETS TALK ABOUT GAMBLING,IT A BIG BUSINESS HERE AND A LOT OF YOUNG PEOPLE PRACTICE IT RELIGIOUSLY,SOME DONT WORK AND RELY ON GAMBLING FOR A LIVING,I DIDNT THINK MUCH INTO IT UNTIL I MET UP WITH MY FRIEND YESTERDAY,HES 20, AND HE ADDMITTED TO ME THAT HE GAMBLES OFTEN EVEN RISKING HIS RENT MONEY.HE HAS MADE MONEY AND LOST .WHAT IS THE CHRISTIAN APPROACH TO THIS? AM OF THE THOUGHT THAT IT IS GLORIFIED ROBBERY.

As a man who had a severe gambling addiction then to me the answer is no.
Grew up in that environment, and it's a family heritage.
For me gambling is an esacpism. That was my escapism.
When God dealt with the reason I was set free from it.
I found myself gambling without realising I was gambling.

Psalm 22:17-18 “I can count all my bones— they stare and gloat over me; 18they divide my garments among them,and for my clothing they cast lots.”
John 19:23-27 “When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his garments and divided them into four parts, one part for each soldier; also his tunic. But the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom, 24so they said to one another, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see whose it shall be.” This was to fulfill the Scripture which says,
“They divided my garments among them,
and for my clothing they cast lots.”

I investigated gambling about twenty years ago. It is possible to make money in the long run through craps if you learn how to throw the dice precisely (a very difficult skill to learn), or through blackjack (another difficult skill to learn). In these two games, you are playing against the house who is only concerned about taking other people's money, not in sharing any with you. If you really do start to win regularly, most casinos won't let you play there anymore.
In poker you are playing against others and that means that if you win others lose. I don't like that principle.
At the time I rationalized that taking money from the house was not a bad thing. I thought that if I played really well, I might be able to make about $10 an hour. But it takes a lot of concentration and if you lose focus for even a second all the money you earned in the last several hours would be instantly gone.

It is now my opinion that one should seek God's will for how to employ ones talents and I am inclined to think he has better things for Christians to do than gamble.

Gambling, like drugs, is not an issue by itself but the problem is addiction of mind. Haven't you heard that God dwells in the mind of a believer? so anything that completely captures the mind is not good in that sense but if purely for relaxation and passing time, it's ok because an idle mind on the other hand is deadly as well.

On the other hand I wonder what people make of the stock market, bonds etc.

Then there is cold hard currency, verses digital currency.
