She took me out for dinner and a movie last weekend also, her treat, because it was my belated birthday celebration haha. We went to the same cinema and restaurant. She worried that maybe I would rather go somewhere else for my birthday meal weeks after the fact, but I assured her that The Old Spaghetti Factory was a very nice place to have a meal, and in fact, I was quite impressed with what we'd had the previous time we were there blowing our Christmas bling :D The fact that the restaurant is also very close to the theatre is a definite plus :) The less fuss and rush, the better :D
Uhhhhhmmm. Did you just say it was your birthday? Why you not say dear one! How can you leave out such pertinent information lol! :) I can feel another parteeeee coming on lol

I have not been much of one to drink anything carbonated most of my life, but a few summers ago I had some Fresca at my pastor's house, and really liked its bubbly low-cal grapefruity refreshing goodness. The most I could drink of it, though, was two small cans a day, because after that I could feel my body go into detox mode (probably from the aspartame), which is very uncomfortable :(

Then last summer or the year before, I discovered Zevia, which is pop made without sugar and no aspartame either, and since there are health concerns with aspartame and I am partial to stevia to begin with, I started drinking that on hot summer days when I was craving something more than just cold water to quench my thirst. But then I also started experiencing terrible gut pains, once so bad it actually felt like I might be having a heart attack, and I could hardly move.

Yes, folks, it was a good thing I spent most of my life not drinking carbonated drinks  And I have now given them up again :) But once in a while on an occasion like going to a movie, I could maybe handle that. However, the fact of the matter is, we hardly ever go to the theater any more, and now a lot of the video rental places have also closed down, along with many of the theaters  Oh the times, they are a changin'.

I had to go out to use a phone again today (to call my daughter, who I will not be seeing this weekend due to my being sick), so I went and got coffee also, and visited with a woman who used to live in my building. She was evicted when she was hospitalized over a year ago now I think; I used to see and visit with her at the coffee shop quite often, and she disappeared for a while, so I wondered what had happened to her. It is so nice to see her around again, even though she does not live in my neighborhood any more :) I have known her for many years; though she cannot remember when she moved into the building, I have been here since '91, and I am pretty sure she was here then :)

Okay, funny story. While waiting at the corner for the light to turn green, a guy said to me, "Hello, Dianne?" I immediately countered with, "Magenta" and he said, "Oh, I got you mixed up with somebody else, you look a lot like my friend Diane. I was going to say you look great, because the last time I saw you, you were in a wheel chair." Haha, I said, "I am up and about! (I made the extended bent arms up double fisted champion gesture) I thought you were going to say, 'You look great, you have lost weight!' and I would have told you that you were the first person to notice." :D

We had a little chat as we crossed the street together and then I allowed him to walk on ahead of me as I continued on to the coffee shop, where I had the little visit with my former neighbor :)

Then when I go home, another neighbor of mine was waiting in his scooter for the elevator. Three of us got on together, and I asked the guy in the scooter, if this was a new vehicle for him. He replied that unfortunately it was not, since he has been in it for over a year now, and I told him I had not seen him for a while, to which he responded, he had been hospitalized most of last year, so I asked him what happened, and he said it was his heart, and his liver, and his intestines. So then I asked him what his prognosis was, and he said it was good, and I old him I was glad to hear that, and wished him luck. He is hoping that the scooter is a not a permanent aid.

So I would ask any that have read this uncharacteristically long post of mine, to please pray for my neighbor in the scooter (I do not know his name, but God will know who you mean) and also for Angie, who is my former neighbor, and also suffers with various medical conditions. She is 73. Thank you.

Still watching the kittie-cam :)
Praying my sista, for both your friends and yourself for a speedy recovery

I had faith you would have faith I would not say that again!
I had faith that you had faith that she had faith that...
Now faith is the firm assurance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen

Hey Josie I missed you when you crashed into slumberville..welcome back to reborn celebration! How is it you are?

Well, actually "How are you," to say how is it you are is to have to answer God created you and even counted your hairs before you were even a seed...then I would have to say the birds and bees story and then I would have to say because you are a twinkle in Your Heavenly Father's eye! That last part would be my favorite....but alas I changed it to simply "How are you?" Which is a much more average question to stimulate you to respond with current standings is all....in God and your surrounding circumstances....can you tell I've rested now? LOL
