the best scriptures that help me was
1ti 3:1This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.1ti 3:2A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;1ti 3:3Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
Note here that a Bishop/Pastor is not given to wine, however:
1ti 3:8Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;
a deacon can have a little wine Now many would try to say that this is speaking of juice not wine but if this were true then how could a Pastor ever part of the Lord's supper, If he couldn't take part of juice. however on the other hand If A pastor allows his Church to use fermented wine at the Lord's supper then He is sinning if he partakes, and has just disqualified himself as a Bishop/pastor
then there is always
Pr 31:6Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.Pr 31:7Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
I let ytou do with this what you want
