Rutgers? I'm assuming that's a university? The only school I've graduated from is the one of hard knocks- that is, a life without Jesus.
Very good school - been there done that! I even went to the godly and holiness school of hard knocks for to experience our Salvation is nothing less than experientially hard to knock, as well as knocks hard. For Jesus said, I knock at the door - (Rev. 3:20) He also says, ask, seek, and knock to us too - (Matthew 7:7-12) So life is a sacrificial journey into what He gives us by way of gracious bounty into the unknown and beyond - I stretch out my arms and expand my heart and unbutton my pants and I'll have one of them there hoagies while He takes me thru His version of Getting His BEST thru hard knocks of experientially gaining in Him.. LOL

But remember too - (Matt. 11:30): "... my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

"Dear Father, we thank You for this beautiful day and for the blessing of calling upon You for help with a special blessing for Shawn before surgery. We love You, Father and we know You love Shawn. We love Shawn very much too; for she is the daughter of three wonderful persons You and Did'y and Mom. We are grateful they are all in our lives here at CC by way of the heart.

We ask You to please bless Shawn to feel Your love and our love, with Your comforting healing power now. We ask that You give Shawn strength to be at ease and free from worry or concerns at this challenging time.

We thank You for the talented doctors and kind medical staff that are all around her now. We ask You to bless the surgeons that will attend Shawn now; that they will be directed by You, that their skills be heightened and their hands be made steady and sure. Please bless our humble prayer to cause all to go smoothly with this operation, before and after, and during the surgery recovery.

Bless Shawn to return to a full, active life and that they will be able to use their health to love and serve others and You.
We thank You for all You have given us, and humbly ask blessings on us all; especially Shawn. This is our prayer and we ask for these blessings to be given if it is Your will. We pray for these gifts and all other blessings we may need from You at this time, because we don't know what all to ask for. So please help us now. We thank you and offer this prayer with all our gratitude for You and Shawn, most earnestly, in Jesus' name, Amen."

(James 5:16): " ... pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."

Just got an update. She hasn't had it yet. She is 52. Apparently, she has something wrong behind her heart, so she needs to have a stint put in. That's all I know.

[TD="align: center"]"Dear Heavenly Father,

Teach us to become more aware of the many blessings that surround us, daily. Guide us as we experience, through our senses, what wonders you freely give. From the sights, sounds and fragrances of nature, we are reminded of your wonderful creation. From the touch of soft material which covers us and keeps us warm to the feeling of warmth we experience from the love of another - we praise you. Lord, as we taste the fruits of our labor, let us all be thankful for our lively-hood. We are blessed bountifully from your hands, Father. From your written word, may we all be more cognizant of your handiwork each day. Lord, this prayer cannot conclude without thankful praise to you for your blessed Son, Jesus Christ. Father, we thank you for sending Jesus to this earth to teach us, to guide us, but more importantly; to love us by dying on the cross to save our souls. We humbly pray this prayer of awareness and thanks in Jesus' name."

AMEN.
