Thank you! :D

Wow sis, you really love purple huh? Do you wear purple everyday? As a freshman in high school I would wear pink everyday. I love the Legally Blonde movie.
You are welcome, LM! I remember I had a red top once when I was in high school, and just after that, but it may have been the only red thing I owned and wore as an adult; it was an orangey red. Some colors suit different skin ones better than others. Hey, I have a pic of me wearing it LOL

I liked pink too, as you can tell :D Now I do wear purple all the time :)
People say things to me like, wow, even your glasses match your outfit
today  And I tell them that my glasses match my outfit every day ;)

PS: I liked Legally Blonde also! :)

Thank you, LM! I have been trying to remember when exactly that photo was taken. I know I was at my downstairs neighbor's' place at the time :) I think it could have been summertime, but that pink sweater I am wearing under the red one had angora in it  I just figured out that the white lump on the table in front of me was my purse LOLOLOL. I know I thought I was fat :( Women's body issues... it is sad how unkind we are to ourselves.

Oh my gosh...you look so pretty! I bet you are still beautiful. I enjoy looking at old photos. Okay so I know how to add a picture from the internet...but how do we add personal photos to CC? It doesn't give me that option anymore. :(

Thank you again, LM, that is very kind of you to say. Posting personal photos has become an issue for quite a few people, including me, but I copied that image from another thread, so this site is the host for it. Otherwise, you could upload your pics from a folder on your computer to an image hosting site, and then insert the direct link url from there into the image app here. The site I most often recommend is https://postimages.org/ You don't have to sign up, and they never delete your images. There was a problem with the site recently, but it seems to have been resolved :)

You are welcome, LittleMMermaid :) Yeah, I cannot remember exactly when I lost the ability to post images directly from my computer, and once a while back it actually let me do it which was quite a surprise, but most often I do not even try any more, and just upload them to the site I mentioned. Make sure to get the direct link if you do that :) It is usually the second one in the list of urls to choose from once you upload your image :)

You know whats interesting about the 70's? People were thin but everyone ate the worst food... processed meats, frozen dinners full of fat and cholesterol, fries, shakes, burgers, etc... and it was every single day... And we didn't know anything about fiber or gluten, everyone drank milk, etc... Now we have all these healthy foods and most people are overweight.

Yes, I was babysitting as a preteen and early teen :D 1974, you would have been what? Eight years old? Wow, Gabe, that's a lot of life between then and now. I remember being eight :D It was the year I escaped weekend women's work in the family home by volunteering to work with my dad and my brothers :D

I was thin but thought I was fat. I dunno about eating healthy back then, though. Kraft dinner was a staple for me, or if not that, home made mac 'n cheese :D I did like making chili, though :) I remember groceries were less than ten dollars a bag. Now when you go shopping, a bag of groceries is easily three times that. I did not care for fast food restaurants :p

Yea see... mac n cheese for a meal would be a big no-no today. I wasn't overweight back then either. I think I weighed 80 lbs lol. But I ate tons of white rice at every meal, sometimes even at breakfast, and I drank tons of whole milk and my favorite food was fried chicken. I think maybe it was because me and my friends were always running around or riding our bikes and stuff, but I don't think we burned that many calories... Something's certainly changed since then..

My daughter is constantly telling me to stop eating so many carbs. Pasta is one of my favorite foods! Lasagna is in the oven right now :D 80 pounds at what age? Eight? I dunno what I weighed as a kid. My oldest sister got married when I was eight. I bet you did burn a lot of calories tearing around the neighborhood on your bikes and whatnot. Summer times were especially great being allowed to roam fairly freely until it got dark out. That seems to have changed now, too, at least in big cities, don't you think? There is much more paranoia about predators :(

Back to 1974, the greatest year of your life...

In 1974, I was a year out of high school, which I had dropped out of for six weeks two months before the end of grade 12, and so I was one credit short of getting a diploma and graduating, but I was an underachiever, and did not care. I had moved away from home very shortly after turning eighteen in 1973, but moved back to return to school for the last two weeks, got a summer job, got kicked out of home, and was working as a waitress into 1974, when I took night classes to get my grade twelve equivalent so I could go to college, where I studied design arts for one year; I dropped out of school again at the beginning of the second year. I was lost. I was drinking and drugging and started playing the guitar all the time. And I do mean, all the time :D

In college, I was exposed to photography (no pun intended!) and fell in love with it. Suddenly I knew what I wanted to do for a living, and I began applying for a job at one of only two photo labs in my home town. I began working there in 1976, on my 21st birthday, and always considered it a gift from the Spirit of the universe (I did not believe in God back then, but knew there was something :)).

haha yea everyone with their dieting rules now and now we have all these vegans running around telling everyone they are the healthiest people on earth... Pasta is actually medium-low glycemic. Its not as bad as white bread or potatoes..

The reason 74 was such a great year for me is because that's when we moved from our very old house in Philly to a new house in Jersey with a yard and well it was in the suburbs and we moved from the city.. and I started going to this beautiful new school compared to the one I went to before which looked like an old english boarding school made of brick and stone. I think it might even be a historic building.

Yea I remember I was either 80 or 90 lbs back then. 100 pounds seemed like a ridiculous weight to me lol.

Oh and with that new house came new friends... one of which became my best friend ever, but he passed away tragically in the mid 90's.. We were inseparable.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of your very dear friend at such a young age :( That must have been a very difficult time for you. Was he 27?

I grew up in a brick house, and went to school in a brick building LOL. Lots of buildings back east were or are made of brick. It is kind of neat to see it now, because that is not the case on the west coast, where I have been for the last forty years.

Hey, speaking of old friends, I had a childhood friend move away when we were ten, and she has recently contacted my closest sister through fakebook wanting to reconnect with me 53 years later  I don' know what to tell my sister, who wants a confident yes from me. I am ambivalent. I find I cannot say no but can only say yes reluctantly :p I barely remember her; we were probably friends for about a year or so before her and her mom moved away, and we lost touch after that. What would you do?

Oh, I wanted to let you know also that I started taking calcium on your recommendation for my recurring Charlie horses. Wow, are they ever painful, but they have subsided since then, so thank you, Gabe :)
