So do these NT laws fall into a legalistic nature or are they above legalistic and are required by Jesus for eternal life?

For instance, if we ignore our neighbors needs and do not take one anothers burdens upon us, are we not fulfilling the law of Christ and is our salvation in jeopardy?

You did this to me before.

I posted when you asked about the law of Christ

Galatians 6:1-2
Chapter 6
Bear and Share the Burdens
1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. 2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

I then said also the law of Christ is summed up in the two commandments he gave which are "Love God and love your neighbor, brother and also enemies"

Put aside jeopardy.

What is the law of Christ to you?

I'm struggling to understand why you will not answer.

I have never ever ever ever ever ever said we ignore our neighbours needs or take someone else's burden upon us.

In fact I take it further just like Jesus asked us to do.

Love the enemies, do good to those who persecute you.

Matthew 5:44-48
44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Let's play your game.

Do you love your enemies and do good to them?
If not is your salvation in jeopardy?

sorry It took me so long to answer , had some work to finish up :)

No they dont " supercede " , they are Jesus's words
Paul says to imitate him as he imitates Christ

My WHOLE world begins and ends with Jesus , he is my everything

Jesus's commands to us are to love God , and to love our neighbour

Just want to add , that there have been times since I've been saved ( 5 yrs ) that I have failed to obey even these 2 commands , and thats why I am so thankful that I have Jesus's righteousness imputed to my account .
Its His righteousness not my own

You truly are a blessing sister.

I would suggest that if people ignore Jesus commandments, concerning love, then they are not saved

how can we say we love God, if we cannot love the ones we see with our own 2 eyes?

and in no way do I suppose that to be some sort of instant gift...even in God's economy, it took some few thousands of years until His words to Adam and Eve were proved to be true with the 'gift' of His Son to us

love is proved over many times in the course of our lives. above all, love is an act not a feeling

you know, Jesus did not 'feel' like going to the cross, but He was OBEDIENT even to His own death for our salvation

love fulfills the commands

now maybe you can tell us how that indicates anything of works or self righteousness?

frankly, I don't see how someone can derive that from Jesus' commands

Bud's response to the above:

So, your detailed answer is "love"?

Okay, got it.

stop pretending you know what you are talking about

my answer above is detailed

so Jesus commands mean nothing to you then?

or do you not understand them?

thanks

not keeping track of how it takes for someone to answer

the problem in this thread is folks trying to make it seem Jesus is in disagreement with his Father

He isn't

the commandments Jesus gave are the synopsis of the commandments given by God

no problem
;)

eh?

i believe when you go outside of wanting whats best for someone then its not in love

(not hiding behind what i believe... trying to explain it to you ... then posted scriptures to prove it)

sorry if i seemed defensive to you

but silly statements like

"so then if someone disagrees with you or words something differently, they are what? NOT saved?

choose your words with the thought in mind that disagreeing does not disqualify another from salvation even if you think so"

is what i consider rubbish

because i never once suggested that if you dont agree with me you arent saved

that comes off to me like youre suggesting i DID say that

and you have made a LARGE number of silly claims like this today

that border in between false accusations and strawmen

where i dont hold the position you SEEM to attempt to impute to me

I made no silly statements and you impune yourself long before anyone can impute anything to you

this:

maybe stop your false accusations against one of Gods children and actually talk

is a non sequitur and typical. if you cannot explain or maybe do not understand another poster, then by gum, attack them with personal comments

I still think it's rubbish

you are a child of God and I am what exactly? not allowed to talk to the child of God and ask questions?

saying I didn't get an answer, which is true, is not a false accusation

the drama in your response is just bad acting

the result of bad comprehension IMO

you think i attacked you?

....

*sigh*

well i didnt

but yeah

you made back to back silly claims

not only to me

but the majority of your posts here

"the problem in this thread is folks trying to make it seem Jesus is in disagreement with his Father"
^
------
silly statement from you that cant be backed up

"so Jesus commands mean nothing to you then?

or do you not understand them?"
^
--------
more ridiculous claims from you

"a disagreement only becomes a lack of love when one person HIDES behind what they say they believe"
^ you
-------
lol
oh really:rolleyes:

"one of God's children? so then if someone disagrees with you or words something differently, they are what? NOT saved?

choose your words with the thought in mind that disagreeing does not disqualify another from salvation even if you think so"

^
---------

you are very defensive
just because you are out line with these ridiculous claims

and i mention the fact im born again
and youre ridiculous claims are false

you get all that from what i said

hmmmm

sounds like a pot calling the kettle black to me
oh ya

more of your hypocrisy

thing is, people know, even those who do not believe, they are not to kill etc

but gossip etc is so often overlooked and it is alive and well right here at CC

I don't know what they think talking about a person to their face behind their back is

there is one person in particular who does this every thread they post in. this one is no exception

tell me you cant see it?

anyways

your nose is so high up i dont think you can see whats in front of you
IMO

eh....

im over it 7

you can keep jumping to false conclusions by yourself

i dont see you being willing to have an actual conversation

i dont know if you can SEE your error

but its there

Let's play your game.

Do you love your enemies and do good to them?
If not is your salvation in jeopardy?

I have done that before. When my enemies come against me with weapons and the intent to harm, it is my right to defend myself with weapons. There are times when my enemy is not coming against me in war. In these times we must do all that we can to love our enemy and do good to them.

If you do not follow the law of Christ, are you really saved?

Jesus didn't call the law of Moses his law. When speaking with the rulers of Israel, he called it your law.

And even in your law it is written that the testimony of two men is true. John 8:17

Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods”"? John 10:34

It will be nice if we able to keep the law of Jesus all the time, the question is can we keep the law of Jesus all the time?

I can tell you are upset

that's ok. I didn't think you were going to respond with anything indicating you understand what I was posting

and you haven't disappointed

like the op who said I didn't supply any detail when I responded to what he asked and anyone with half vision can see that I did

same with you

I'm glad you are over it as that means I no longer have to bother with trying to help you understand I am not discussing keeping the law

it's amazing how someone, you in this case, can get so riled over nothing, twist what is actually said and then call yourself a 'child of God' as though no one else here is a believer

best to just put you on the list with some of your friends....
