Must be quite a thing to know you're that close to death.

I pray for his salvation.

That is kind of rude and juvenile to ask the President not to come, yet the VP is welcome. I wouldn't blame Pence for not attending because of his childish behavior

1. I think McCain has every right to say or request whatever he wants.

2. However, when someone is on their deathbed, they do have a sort of "immunity to criticism", giving them magical powers to say almost anything without fear of a rebuttal.

He's quoted saying pretty harsh things about Trump in the article, and he knows Trump has to remain silent, or receive even worse criticism from arguing with a dying man.

3. And the media, being the darlings they are, seem to be doing everything possible to broadcast a dying man's anger, and elicit a damning response from the other party.

4. In a nutshell, both of these men have aggressively gone after each other in life, and it looks like it will continue in death... and the media is doing everything in their power to make it all as ugly as possible.

Lovely isn't it?

It's sad he's spending his final days in a state of utter bitterness. It seems to be a harbinger of the darkness awaiting him.

I hope he sees the light, makes amends and walks into eternity in peace.

That's all that we really can do.

I'll criticize McCain.

He is a democrat, pretending to be Republican.

He was a substandard naval aviator, who got by because of his daddy.

He may have been responsible for the USS Forrestal fire.

He is an adulterer, and has been in such state, since he left his wife for another woman.

He likes committing the military to war, while cutting the military budget, and veteran benefits.
Being a POW is no free pass to be a douche.

State funerals are different. This really is an historical aberration.

He is being unnecessarily contentious for somebody on death's door.

More frightening considering this is what he's most worried about when he's getting this close?

Then again, it is a brain tumor. My BIL was still himself toward the end with his tumor, but my MIL completely changed for the last few months of her life. (Neither worse nor better. Just oddly different.)

BTW, brain tumors aren't supposed to be genetic, and yet two members of hubby's family died from brain tumors.

I hope to be more gracious toward my "enemies" on my deathbed.

In all fairness, Trump really was a jackass to McCain during the election.

(Of course, hubby and I dealt with these issues already. Neither one of us are having a funeral when we die.)

Are you married? Because, I can see this as something I might say to protect hubby from someone coming to my funeral, (if we were doing funerals), that said something nasty enough to me that he'd still be angry.

Why not have who you like at your last 'party'? I know who my family likes to have over for BBQ's, bday parties etc. The people that they have sincere relationships with. Why would your funeral, celebrating your life be any different ? And why should it be ?

Let’s just pray for all involved . Let’s pray everyone to be healed especially emotionally.
This is a trying time for all . What is needed is some maturity on all parts .
Blessings
