All you have to know is without the Holy Spirit you will go back to the old man you were before.
Actually the holy spirit doesn't have to go anywhere. Simply not listening to the holy spirit due to a hard heart or a stiff neck accomplishes the same result.

Let's just cut to the chase here. ARE YOU PRESENTLY A BORN AGAIN CHILD OF GOD? That is a definitive yes, a definitive no, or an I don't know.
I am a born again child of God.

I was going to say that, too.

Minus the influence of the Holy Spirit we all just act like our old selves again.

1 Corintians 3:14-15 should proof a lot.

"If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire."

We see, there are two groups in the Body of Christ. Those whose bear lots of fruit and those who don't. According to people who believe in conditional security, those who ended up with a burned work also ended up in hell. But here it says they were saved, yet so as by fire
Well, if Paul had been talking about salvation and not rewards for service in the building and field of God you'd have a point. But since he is talking about rewards, not salvation, you do not have a point.

There is no such thing as stopping to believe. A person has a new heart when he gets saved. Romans 10:10
Sounds good, but the same warning against denying God, and in turn being denied, that is in the OT is in the NT.

In the Old Testament it was indeed possible to lose your salvation. Jesus said if a man isn't born again, there is no way he can see the kingdom. If we read Luke 16:22-23, we find out that OT saints went to Abraham's bosom, not to heaven. So nobody in Old Testament was born again yet. Hope that makes sense to you. God bless
Same answer: The same warning against denying God, and in turn being denied, that is in the OT is in the NT.

The real issue is when someone makes no room in their heart for the holy spirit.
Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh...Praise the LORD and thank You Jesus...\:)/...xox...

sure...but it's not a guarantee that you never will. It holds good as long as we endure in all things unto the end - the same shall be saved ! fact is that the 'possibilities of losing it (salvation)are present as long as we live.
Obviously some are OSAS and some are not...let's leave it there.
That is the same conclusion I have come to. Some people are strong in their believing and the roots of the word go down deep and produce fruit and it endures to the very end. This is the fourth type of soil in the Parable of the Sower.

And then there are those who believe but they are weak, the word not being deeply rooted in them. The word is more easily uprooted from their hearts when trials and temptations come and the word does not remain in them (they no longer satisfy the condition for being saved-1 Corinthians 15:2, 1 John 2:24). This is the second type of soil in the Parable of the Sower.

The point is, be a fourth type of soil believer. Seek to grow up into that kind of soil where the word continues in you. Then you will be far from the threat of the word of the gospel being uprooted from your heart and as a result not being prepared to meet the Master when he returns. This is the message that the church needs to hear. Instead we have a multitude of teachers tickling the ears of the people telling them it doesn't matter if you mature into an intimate knowing of Christ where the word is rooted deeply in you and can not be uprooted because you can't be lost no matter what.

Church, just because you are sure you won't/can't stop believing doesn't mean that's true for everyone else. It depends on the person's heart and to what extent the word is rooted in their heart.

A big step in Christian maturity........stop projecting your feelings and convictions onto everybody else. They are not you. They have their own relationship with Christ and chances are it's different than yours. We are not robots.

I am a born again child of God.
VERY glad to hear that Ralph!

But that makes your mindset all the more puzzling. You are a NEW creation. The Lord has called you and made you HIS. HE has given you the necessary faith to believe in His Son. You BELIEVE. You can't unbelieve. You can't unborn yourself. It's impossible! The LORD would have to take back the faith HE GAVE you in order for you to unbelieve. And you have already stated that you don't believe He would ever do that. You would be born of a woman, then be born again, then die TWICE. Your flesh and then your Spirit.

You have it backwards. If we are born twice, we die once. And if we are only born once, (in the flesh) then we die twice. Once in the Flesh, and then in the spirit.

Why can't you just accept that you are HIS, and He will NEVER let you go, and love Him all the more?

Of what value is there in thinking that YOUR FATHER, who loves you, and died for you, would ever allow you to leave Him to the point that He would throw you in Hell?

We must remember. That although everyone is a CREATION of God, NOT everyone is a Child of God. HE IS NOT GOING TO THROW A SINGLE ONE OF HIS CHILDREN INTO HELL!!

Embrace that fact! And love Him all the More!

Amen, when god sealed noah in the ark, could he eacape? To go back into the world?
Are you saying that if Noah had wanted to get out of the ark, there would have been no way he could have gotten out?

Did God make him a prisoner on the ark?

(Personally, I think if Noah had wanted to get out of the ark, I think he would have gotten out!)

sure does

when He puts a new spirit
and heart in you

your spirit testifies of the truth....

that you are His child

the same way you cannot stop believing your father in earth is your father

you cannot stop believing your Father in heaven is your Father

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

So once God has given us a new heart, you believe He takes away our freedom of choice, takes away our will, and forces us to continue to believe in Him no matter what! To me that does not sound like a loving Father.

I much prefer to believe in a Father who gives a new heart to me as a gift. He does not force me to keep it, but woos and loves me and showers His grace and kindness upon me and gives me all I need to ongoing believe and abide in Him. Praise the Lord - what a wonderful Saviour!

you would be His child

not peer

if He wanted to save His child from a burning fire

you think that is unjust?

ridiculous

1 Peter 1
1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

you believe it is your will that will keep you saved?

Romans 9:16-33
16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.

18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.

19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?

20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?

21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

25 As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.

26 And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.

27 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:

28 For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.

29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.

30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Yep. thats called grieving the HS, Which I am quite sure, we ALL have done at one time or another possibly multiple times. Just like we grieved our parents many many times when we did not listen to them. And what happened? We got disciplined. Just like God disciplines us.

Thats alot different than losing ones salvation because the HS left you!

You think Noah is stronger than God, that explains everything.

Personally I think noah understood his situation and never would have wanted to leave, Like all people who have repented and come to christ have done, or they never would have repented to begin with (true faith not washy washy false faith) which is why they never would want to leave either. (which explains why you think salvation can be lost by wanting to return to the world where the world is being flooded and no one will survive) But even if they could they are not stronger than God.

by your line of reasoning, then you must believe it is your will that gets you saved?!
