What's a collqil .. colquil .. that language thingy ?

It's just means ordinary, common, informal speech... often using slang and metaphors.

This would be opposed to either formal speech, or some kind of precise speech which we'd maybe use in science or theology.


Here's a kind of rough example of the difference:
1. If you were on a cruise ship, and it sprang a leak, and the Coast Guard came to get everyone - you might reach the harbor and shout to the onlookers, "Hurray!, everyone on the ship got saved!"

2. But if you were preaching a sermon, in a church, you might not want to shout, "Everyone on the ship got saved!"
The word "saved" would very likely be misunderstood.

The word "saved" meant one thing in common, ordinary use and a very different thing in theological use.


Conclusion:
1. A word or phrase can mean one thing in general, ordinary language, and a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT thing when used in specific theological language.
2. We just need to be aware of this, and think about how we use words and phrases when moving back and forth from one domain to the other.

I do believe that when we sin though it affects our relationship with God, not only God but with others who we sin against.

When we sin we carry the guilt or remorse of doing so. That can stop us coming before God, but also when we do so the guilt is the focus but not the forgiveness we have.

How many of us have come before God knowing we have sinned or are struggling with sin, focus on that and walk away feeling worse?

How many of us taken a long time to come before God for fear of being slapped up and beaten up?

When Jesus said "It is finished" and gave up his spirit what happened?

The temple curtain was torn in two.

Access to the throne of God.

If God severs fellowship with him then the temple curtain would have to sown up and then torn again to re-establish the relationship.

Well I would say if Jesus is the perfect image of the father....then no...lol.
Jesus would of been friendless, a orphan, in fact that wisdom guy you would visit way up in the mountains.
All of us have sin and are sinners. We were born sinners. Our nature is to sin.
Good news is sin has been dealt with. Even while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Washing us in his blood and giving us clean clothes.
Presenting us to the father as blameless. Meeting us where we are but loving us too much to stay that way.
When we sin know that he is our advocate....he's our Tide pod. Offering up that good and acceptable sacrifice that the father gave us.
Jesus broke the bonds of sin for us...it no longer carries the wage of death but is now cast as far as the east is from the West. Remembered no more for those in Christ Jesus.

Fellowship is different than relationship. There's no way to have fellowship with GOD without acknowledging sin.

I've heard this repeated time and again. While we won't lose salvation when we sin, God will, however, break fellowship with us until we "repent" and stop sinning.

My question is this: How many times a day does God cease fellowship with us? Since we sin many times a day (if you're honest, you know this is true) does that mean we have fellowship, lose it, have it back, lose it again, get it back, all day long etc., ad nauseam?

And please don't bring up the old "pattern" of sin thing. As we indeed sin every day, day after day, week after week, etc. we all have such a pattern.

The sin issue between man and God was resolved on the cross. The Holy Spirit once in us doesn't leave us, or turn away from us, because we have been fully forgiven.

If one believes that God will leave us when we sin, or stop fellowship with us then one does not believe in complete forgiveness.

The problem was sin and death, not just sin alone. God solved the sin problem, our choice to accept that and be one with Christ solves the death problem.

Once we are resurrected in Christ we are now alive. No sin can remove that life from us.

Believers are unrighteous by nature, but they do not live in sin. They live in the awareness that they are unrighteous, yet are clothed with righteousness, and repent and acknowledge sin when they commit it.

Isaiah 59:2 must be read in light of Isaiah 59:1 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear


Then we read from vs 2 and see those who turn from the Lord to their iniquities.


And in Is 59:16 we see that it is God Himself Who provides the intercessor for those who so desperately need it, those who depart from evil and who become prey.


Isaiah 59:

15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.

16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

That's when you say that your sorry to reconcile things. I believe that what you feel is the Holy Spirit convicting you.

Yes, as long as one lets go of the guilt, the sin has been dealt with at the cross.

Knowledge and accepting of forgiveness is what we need to be free from sin, I always loved it when my kids told me things because they loved me and were persuaded I loved them and would forgive them, not because they felt guilty.

I was listening to a message today about guilt and how some Christians believe that God uses it on us. But it's not the way the HolySpirit operates. Here is a good example;

When we miss reading the Bible how often do we allow feelings of guilt to move us forward or backward? The Bible is food for our souls. When we miss reading and hearing the Word of God we become weak. When a child is hungry he doesn't feel guilty for not eating., he feels hungry for not eating.


There is such a rotten man made "religious" payment mind-set we humans have in response to God that has NO place what so ever in our relationship with Him.

There is no place for condemnation and guilt. We have been set free from that kind of relationship. But how many Christians are walking in that freedom Jesus died to give them? How many of us have walked according to the old manner of life we were set free from when we got saved because we didnt' know any better?

The Bible says in Romans 8:1-2

8 Therefore, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus.

God never withdraws from us His sons and daughters. We have the gift of unmerited favor bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus. He has opened up the door to the throne of grace so we can always always find help in time of need. And that time of need is all the time.

And we have daily forgiveness constantly just as that song says about Jesus constantly making intercession for us. Jesus is always there before the Father on our behalf. Not only that but Jesus will always carry the marks on His body as a memorial and a reminder of what He has done for us.

Jesus is the Great High Priest who lives after the power of an endless life. And because He lives., we live too. Unlike the sinful high priests back in the day of the children of Israel who lived and died. Jesus will never die. So there is never broken fellowship on God's part against us.

We have ever lasting fellowship with God because of Jesus. If we turn from God out of shame or guilt or remorse it is not God who turns from us. The devil uses false feelings of guilt and shame to keep us from facing God IN Christ. The devil tricks people into looking at themselves and not Jesus.... the Author and Finisher of their faith.

Such a major message here. We are not accepted because of our behavior. We are accepted because of Jesus.

God does not turn from us. I believe we turn from Him.


We get distracted and leave Him. However, when we turn back to Him, He is always there and welcomes us with open arms.


This is what leads me to believe that He does not turn from us.

Well it's more accurate to say instead of either us leaving God or God leaving us,that we at times you might say "ignore" God temporarily to sin,because in my experience even when I have "willfully sinned" after accepting Jesus and his works,I feel "remorse" and sometimes I even feel "spirit charged" to speak God's word I suppose because when you get a sin "over with" you can focus on "him" without so much "stress".
