Apparently she is very busy with her vacation Bible school, babysitting, music, and whatever else she is up to.

Today is the last day of VBS. I have to be at church early tomorrow for an Angel food thing, and I have to be back across the street on Monday morning. so I'll be popping in and out sporadically instead of being on for hours at a time as usual.

Fun! I envy you your fun times in service to the Lord. Cherish it because a time will come when that kind of fun is but a memory.
Please forgive this moment of seriousness but your service has caused me to think of all the seniors that no longer have "fun" because no one comes by to hear their memories, I urge you young men and women to visit a senior home and encourage them to share the memories of their youth. You will reap great rewards for having done so.

In Christ,
John

Amen John, its when you face that downward slope that you see the gifts that should have been in Jesus for others.
God bless, pickles

Clement,

I remember my dad teaching me not with words but with actions. My father never met a stranger. He gladly accepted everyone as equals and he looked for ways to be of service to them. He never knew Christ until just before he died but he lived by the teachings of Christ all of his life.

Come on over and I will "teach" you the true gospel as it was taught to me.

In Christ,
John

That's one reason I like hanging out with older adults. They actually have things to say and talk about. I like learning about history through their eyes. Seems that life was alot better when y'all were younger than now. The young people at the church were more active and stuff. I wish it was like that now.

When I was a kid, I walked fifty miles to school and fifty miles back …

My Mom had to walk to the bus stop which was 2 1/2 muiles away at 5:30 each day. They then had to ride for 2 hours to be at school 45 miles away over mostly dirt roads. Such was life in the high desert in 1939 -1942.

The farthest I had to walk was 1 mile (If I went by my girl friends house first) otherwise it was a half mile through the field.

When I attended seventh grade through eleventh, I basically had to walk the best part of a block to get to school. During my senior year they moved the school, and I drove, since my parents had two cars. During a snow storm I got a flat tire and had to walk five blocks home.

I take the bus to school. Takes the better part ov an hour. I have an 8 am class, which means I have to be up at 6 30. Ugh, that is NOT gonna be fun.

CCG,

You only use the small ones for bait. You eat the big ones. The protein level is off the charts and they will keep you alive if necessesary (Notes from military survival school E and E).

Yuck. I have never eaten a worm. I don't plan to, and I hope I never have to.

LOL! If you saute them in a little bit of butter, they taste real good. But you need to try grubs (deep fried). Crunchy and filling. Get the fat ones though, more meat.
