This has nothing at all to do with what I am arguing.

God in my argument, simply means The Highest Value. That Value being the Highest Value of European Culture. That stems from Nietzsche and his argument for the Death of God. Which may make this more sense if you were to read the Parable of the Madman by Nietzsche from the Gay Science.
Well, actually it does have to do with what you are arguing. You say Luther destroyed all that had been gained. And you've been very defensive of the catholic church. So you can't speak of Luther being the death of God ( and when you say God, you don't mean God but instead mean whatever a culture holds to be of most esteem - which obviously changes with seasons) and then say Luther and the catholic church and Luthers protests of the practices of that church have nothing to do with what you are arguing.

I mean, you came into a thread where the actual topic WAS the catholic church.
And you came into a forum where God is discussed every day.
And the God we discuss here is the God of our bible, not whatever any culture decides is of highest value.

Either I am not explaining myself properly or people here are just reading into their own presuppositions on certain words I am using, which causes confusion as to what I am actually saying. I am beginning to think everyone is confusing what I am saying because we are talking past each other and no one is really willing to take what am saying seriously.

I am not saying, It is a fact of what Luther did to Europe (Read The Cave and the Light by Arthur Herman, The Closing of the Western Mind by Charles Freeman) these two books lay a good overview of the foundation of what I am saying as to what Luther did and why the Renaissance and the Reformation occurred, also read the book Ideas & Men by Crane Briton. Then I read the History of what occurred after the Reformation: Such as

Christendom Destroyed by Mark Greengrass
Martin Luther: German Savior by James Stayer
German Histories in the Age of Reformation by Thomas Brady, Jr.

Then I read the History of the Reformation and Christianity and the two books that are very detailed on this subject are:

Christianity: The First Three Thousand Years by Diarmaid MacCulloch
The Reformation by Diarmaid MacCulloch

So I am very well educated on this subject. I see a lot of people here saying "All I read is the Bible" and it is no surprise that people have no clue as to what I am saying. Because, no one picks up a book and reads it.

I would have to greatly disagree on this! The religious system of Roman Catholicism with its pope and all its practices is anything but Biblical.

Marianism = The worship of Mary, which is actually queen of heaven worship that was transposed over from the false practices of Babylon.

Mother and son worship = which was also had its origins in false Babylonian practices and was transposed onto Mary and Jesus.

Transubstantiation = The ritual where the priest calls Christ out of heaven and supposedly enters into the eucharist, which retains its outer appearance, but its elements change into that of the literal flesh and blood of Christ.

Pantheon worship = When Constantine deemed Christianity as the official religion of Rome, all of the pagan practices which stemmed from Babylon came with it. The worship of many god's was transposed over to praying to the saints, which is still in operation with the RCC.

I could go into sacraments which are works based, as well as the teaching of purgatory and many other false teachings.

Roman Catholicism is the biggest false religious system on the planet, hiding right out in the open. That 82 ft. obelisk from Hierapolis Egypt that is standing out in the center of St. Peter's square should be giant red flag of what the RCC stands for.

She is, Mystery, Babylon the great. And she will gain the power and authority that she graves once that antichrist is revealed, with one of her future popes playing the part of the false prophet.

Roman Catholic teachings have no Biblical basis.
It's hard to get a Biblical truth across without offending some folks. They take it as a personal attack, when you're actually doing it out of love. If you love someone, you will correct them rather than leave them in their ignorance.

A wise man will thank you for correction and appreciate it, a fool will hate you for it

My argument stems from trying to understand the Death of God. I argue that it is an event that is 3500 years in the making. But, concerning Europe and this thread, it starts with the Renaissance and what followed was the Reformation and then the Enlightenment. I argue that the Renaissance was created out of the Aristotelian Theology settled by Thomas Aquinas, and the reintroduction of Platonic philosophy from the scholars and philosophers from Constantinople. The devaluation comes into play when Martin Luther goes on a rampage against Aristotle and destroys the foundation that Europe spent a thousand years trying to resolve.
As far as literature goes, if it contradicts the Bible I pretty much am offended by its presence. I would never read it. I think Ayn Rand was a broken unit. And, are you kidding, The death of God? If I believed God was dead well then there would no longer a reason to live.
No morality would exist. Life would seem like an endless stream of disapointment, and heart break with no reward at the end. If I believed that the only point of life was the accumulation of wealth. I'd end it. No wonder our nation has gone off the rails.

That is basically what is called existential Nihilism.

The Death of God is a very interesting topic and it does explain why the West is the way it is.

The Reformation in Germany and the processes after it, it destroyed Germany by the time the late 1800's, which is why I argue that Protestant Reformation is Nihilistic, because, I see what it did to Germany, it created Hegel and Marx both leading to Communism and Marxism. Look at America today, we are the most Protestant Country on Earth and if you compare 1700-1800 Germany and 1900-2018 America you will see a lot of parallels. The common trait of both countries is Protestantism. Germany created Marxism and America created Progressivism.

I was not misunderstanding you. I very clearly understood you. It may take a bit longer for others to get your number, but they will, because we are not without discernment.

I know you don't like it when folks quote the Holy Scriptures to you, but I have to do it one more time.

The Bible tells us that we are in a war, this war is an attack by Satan and his Demons who have power in high places. They are very intelligent, so much so that they would recieve the very elect of God if God doesn't intervene and save us from the lies of the wicked.

I know natural man is easily impressed and swept away by the intelligence of the wicked, but keep in mind the wicked have been around for thousands of years. They have learned a lot and they are masters of deception.

The Bible tells us that only God can equip us with the wisdom we need to avoid falling into the snares of the Wicked one and his Demons. Jesus is the only One who defeated them and He has given the victory to those who believe in Him and His finished work on the cross.

I would encourage you to examine your relationship with God and compare what you believe to His Word ans see if they line up. The war is raging against the truth of the Gospel, don't rely on your own wisdom and power to overcome the evil one and your sins.

Trust in Christ in all things and He will lead you into all truth and righteousness

Really, when did I ever say that? When have I objected to that?

What I don't agree with is your style of Christianity.

What I see is a lot of Fundamentalism and not a lot of intellectual thought. It is pure emotional response I see. No one can take on what I am saying and simply refer to what I say as "poo", that is not an argument that is a childish response. This is a childish response.

You want people to be converted to your belief, and you do everything possible to repel people from your beliefs.

You do know we are christians right? You do know what Jesus died for I hope. Although we all have different perspectives, different dialects of the same language different experiences, educations, economic backgrounds etc. That's we argue so much. We pretty much agree on the key elements like Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sins. Jesus IS (not was) the living Son of God, born of a Virgin, rose from the dead and is coming back for us. and if you value anything more than that when he returns you Will go to HELL!

The Bible IS TRADITION! The men who compiled the OT complied Tradition. If you use only the Bible, then the Bible is your tradition.
:poop::poop::poop:

The Devaluation of God simply means the collective cultural Temporal Value of Society. God simply means, in this case, The Highest Value.

Maybe we can reverse the whole tragedy if we pool all of our money together and beg the catholic church to bring back indulgences if we give all the money to them...
