He is a Calvinist through and through, because Calvinism is 100% Biblical.

Calvinism is Heresy.

God does not predestine some for salvation and others for destruction...

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Here is your Gospel according to Calvinism.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever Is predestined to be saved, should not perish but have everlasting life. Calvinism 3:16

There's no condemnation for those who are in Christ, God's wrath has already been poured out on Jesus instead of us. True believers have nothing to fear, the above was written for the unbelievers

1 John 2:3-6 We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. The man who says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is A LIAR, and the truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. THIS IS HOW WE KNOW WE ARE IN HIM: Whoever claims to live in him MUST WALK AS JESUS DID.

New International Version 1984 Ephesians 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things GOD'S WRATH comes on those who are DISOBEDIENT.

THESE "DISOBEDIENT " ARE THOSE WHO REJECT GOD'S LAWS AND COMMANDS WHICH ARE UNDENIABLY GOD'S WORDS.

Isaiah 5:20-24 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight. Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks, who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice to the innocent. Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have REJECTED THE LAW of the Lord Almighty and SPURNED THE WORD of the Holy One of Israel.

Hebrews 10:28-29 Anyone who REJECTED THE LAW of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has INSULTED THE SPIRIT OF GRACE?

HOW DID THEY INSULT THE SPIRIT OF GRACE?

A: BY SAYING THAT SALVATION IS BY FAITH ALONE VOID OF ANY SORT OF WORKS, EVEN OBEDIENCE TO GOD WHICH IS CONTRARY TO WHAT THE SPIRIT SAYS;

2 John 1:6-11 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love. Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him shares in his wicked work.

HERE BELOW PROVES THAT OSAS IS A FALSE MANMADE DOCTRIME. (ref: mark 7:6-13)

Matthew 24:9-11 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time MANY WILL TURN AWAY FROM THE FAITH and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.

Salvation by works is heresy.

God does not predestine some for salvation and others for destruction...
God does not fatalistically determine who will and won't be saved. Not predestined "in that sense." But the Bible does mention the word "predestined."

Romans 8:29 - For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

Then why bother doing anything?
Something obviously has to be done, otherwise you're going to be at the bottom rank.

But you can't approach the Lord by faith or work's, but by love. You see true love work's for his benefit and not your own selfish desire to faith it in.
Read the thread......and to be honest....both your statements are wrong........and even a cursory reading of the bible proves my point(s)

Hi EarthGuest, yes we love Jesus enough to die for Him but we are "saved by grace" not by works. And what do you mean approach the Lord? We abide in Him and He in us we do not need to approach Him. And what do you mean "bottom rank", we are children of the Most High God?

God bless

Ephesians2:8-10
8)
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
9) "not by works", so that no one can boast.
10) For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

10) For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

We were saved, which is to say, born again, or regenerated, by grace through faith.

  • He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior

4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:4-7

This refers to our initial salvation, when we were born again, not because of any works of righteousness we did, to earn our salvation, but because He loved us, and because of His merciful kindness.

At this point, the slate is wiped clean, in which our sins are forgiven, and we are cleansed of all unrighteousness, being justified before God as righteousness.

We have been given a new nature, which is compatible to be filled with the Holy Spirit, who empowers our new divine nature to do what we could not do before: Practice righteousness.

Those who have been born again, and have received the Holy Spirit, have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness.

It's now up to us to either walk according to the Spirit, or according to the flesh.

Before we were regenerated, or born again, we did not have the capacity to live our lives according to the Spirit, and practice righteousness, because we were slaves of sin, not having the ability to live in dominion over sin.

We now have the power, and the right to becomes sons of God.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Here is MacArthur's Commentary on 1 John 3:9:

J. Vernon McGee's Commentary:

Dallas Theological Seminary's Commentary:

Quoting the Believer's Bible Commentary:

There are several commentaries by Conservative Evangelicals. I believe that last one is easiest to understand. If it was literally meaning we will NEVER EVER TO SIN AGAIN, then, why do we NEED an ADVOCATE IN HEAVEN, in 1 John 2:1? If we NEVER SIN AGAIN after we repent, then WHY is the word CONFESS in 1 John 1:9, in the PRESENT TENSE implying it is an ongoing thing to CONFESS every new sin we commit? If we can never sin again, then wasn't PAUL talking about his personal sin, a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME, in Rom. 7:13-25?

In 1 John 3:9, it is CLEAR, that it is referring to the end of a Habitually Sinful Lifestyle, while the Propensity to SIN, our SIN NATURE, is in us until we get that GLORIFIED BODY at the Resurrection that cannot even think sin.
Hi VCO, these are all very good commentaries. When you say, "The end of a "Habitually Sinful Lifestyle", this is exactly how I was raised as a "New Born" Christian. Their will be less of a desire to sin and later our favorite sin will not even be enjoyable even if you try.

I nominate this, "Best Post of the Year"....:)

Thank you and God bless!

The best way predestination was explained to me was; Before the foundation of the world, God predestined/elected to save anyone who will place their faith in Jesus Christ alone. In that same vein, He predestined/elected to damn anyone who will reject the free gift of salvation through Jesus.

It makes more sense than God simply choosing people to be saved or damned against their will.

1. The five were without "the Holy Spirit" They were believers waiting for the Bridegroom.
2. were watching. Were sleeping.
3. were hangers-on. Foolish believers waiting for the Bridegroom.
4. not saved. Lazy.

Everything you say is wrong.
I respect your opinion but you are wrong; the oil represents, "The Holy Spirit" then they ran out of oil because they were not true believers.

The bible is silent about whether the five virgins who ran out of oil were saved or not saved. When the bible is silent about an issue so should we be; this is, "Rules of Biblical Interpretation 101."

You are trying to validate your opinion that a believer can "Lose their Eternal Salvation", we cannot lose our eternal salvation and the bible supports the, "Eternal Security of the Believer. No one can "pluck us from His hands", ever.

Your interpretation is "wrong", and "biased", from the git go.

To see if adding a post works.
What if you want to only add a part of a post

Agreed.

Which also shows how people are in the book of Life.

God foresaw those who would choose Christ, and He chose them to be adopted as sons.

just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. Ephesians 1:4-6
