13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.

14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.

15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
No, it still is about beginning our life renewed in Christ according to how God intende his grace to be received.
It's not a race. The reborn Christian has already overcome the world. We have already "won".

excuse for what?

for not believing the lies of the false preachers on this thread adding their false understanding to the gospel (the works salvationists who think of Jesus as some qualifier for the self righteous to save themself by their own walk)

LOL

what you think hating your parents is a requirement to be saved?

more out of context nonsense

Please just point out where I promoted a "works salvation" gospel in this post.

Is turning to God, by confessing Jesus as Lord, to much work for you, to receive salvation?

Jesus is the Lord who we are to turn to in submission to His rule and kingdom, when we repent.

Confessing Jesus as Lord is how we obey the Gospel, and are saved.

8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:8-10

  • and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Believing in your heart, together with confessing with your mouth is the action of obedience working to make faith complete.

This is the response to repent, the call to turn to God in submission to His kingdom and rule as Lord.

Confessing Jesus as Lord.

  • to whom I now send you, to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins

  • to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance.

16 But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you. 17 I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you, 18 to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’

19 “Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, 20 but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem, and throughout all the region of Judea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance. Acts 26:16-20

Honestly, all you have done is spew your toxic nonsense at me, while denying what the scriptures so plainly say.

Again, I ask you, Is confessing Jesus as Lord, too much "work" for you to be saved?

Confessing Jesus as Lord is not a work, but a word of commit to submit to Him as Lord.

Can a husband divorce his wife if she is unfaithful to him?

As I have said many times in this thread we are saved, born again, regenerated, by grace and not by works.

  • not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:4-7

Notice this verse: that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

If you are an heir, then you have the hope of inheriting something, in this case, it is eternal life.

The way this occurs is by obeying the Gospel.

22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, 23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, 24 because

“All flesh is as grass,
And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.
The grass withers,
And its flower falls away,
25 But the word of the Lord endures forever.”
Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.
1 Peter 1:22-25

However, in the post you are responding to he quoted from the bible Romans 10:8-10 and Acts 26:16-20. Would you consider these words lies or is there a special place where you divide these words off and give them no value?

Please for the discussion, give us your take on Romans 10:8-10 and Acts 26:16-20 and how that fits into your theology. Thank you.

The so-called false preachers you refer to are reciting scripture directly from the same bible you recite your scripture from. So if they are false preachers, so are you, so be careful who you brand a false teacher.

If a person sins, then they need to come before God and confess their sin, and they will be forgiven and cleansed of all unrighteousness.
here is one of many examples of how you twist the truth

you believe
if a born again child of God sins once

he is damned unless he regains his salvation

you also believe a born again son of God stays saved THROUGH not sinning.... works.... as opposed to being kept by the power of God

^
revolving door salvation

notice

"person" no thought what-so-ever about what it means to be an adopted son or daughter of God

salvation depends on the efforts of the individual

in this mind set

not only does God toss His children into the lake of fire

but one can be saved and unsaved 100 times in a day

never get into heaven

and still have been "saved" at some point

complete nonsense

Jesus is NOT just some prerequisite for salvation
^

this was my response to you

Obedience and disobedience
^

your response when someone asks the difference between who is and isnt saved

youre looking to works to justify a man...

not by grace through faith

next ill post your most recent lie i saw you make against a user here

what do you mean "my take"

romans 9-10 clearly align with we are saved by grace through faith... and not of works

and acts 26 paul is clearly speaking of how he went from a wicked unbeliever like the pharisees who would attack saved believers and repented from unbelief <- darkness unto the truth <- light

there is no scripture that doesnt fit into the truth

it is all inspired

No, it still is about beginning our life renewed in Christ according to how God intende his grace to be received.
It's not a race. The reborn Christian has already overcome the world. We have already "won".
1 Corinthians 9:24 and Hebrews 12:1 seems to conflict with your thoughts that it is not a race. I believe the rebirth was the starting point of the race, and your death is the end of the race, and there is a lot of distance between the 2 and you absolutely need to stay on the path to the end. Living the gospel is just like a race, and to the victors go the spoils, in this case eternal life.

I would suggest also that if you have overcome this world, you would be a whole lot like Jesus. Would that be what I would find if I met you face to face?

John 16:33 - These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

1 john 5:4- For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world:
and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith.
5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

Revelation 3:21 - To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne

and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith.

You keep referring to the bible and how we disagree with the bible. But we do not. The verses that we quote are not from the Naturalist Papers, or the Pompey Letters, they are from the bible.

If we are quoting the bible and you are quoting the same bible, then 1 of 2 problems exist. Either the bible conflicts itself, or we interpret the same scriptures differently. I say the bible does not conflict itself, so we are left with interpretation problems. And who is the one to stand forward in the Christian church and tell us who is interpreting the bible correctly? Nobody.

So you interpret how you do and we will interpret how we do, but stop calling us false teachers because we do not interpret the bible 100% the same as you. If you think you have a monopoly on the Holy Spirit, think again.
We have had the same experiences in the spirit as you have had. You have no superior position having to do with the Holy Spirit.

So let us be brothers in the gospel, not willing to torch each others churches over what we believe, but have a humble attitude about how we go about living the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are both saved, so keep that in mind.

This statement comes from the following scripture -

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

You seem to have a hatred for God’s word.
