This is really just a thread of personal thought and living....

Sometimes life is just strange... The Psalms live out... The wicked (what we call wicked or what I do anyway by how people treat others) do seem to prosper, in this life (key phrase). Then G-d "fearing" really do seem to get the short end of the stick, in this life (key phrase)....

So when "you" judge fruit, what fruit is judged? What looks like blessings from G-d? People who know the right "words" to speak?

Can a person who is "sad" to the word's judgement, a beggar on the street, an idiot that cannot get past his/her "I-tooth", an introvert that does not talk to people be saved?

Maybe that beggar is just poor... Maybe that introvert prays for 20 hours a day....

What fruit is it that we get to judge?

I know what I think it is.... It's for salvation...

So when "you" judge fruit, what fruit is judged?
Context is important.

MATTHEW 7

A. FALSE PROPHETS TO BE EXAMINED FOR THEIR FRUITS

15
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

B. FALSE PROFESSORS TO BE EXAMINED FOR THEIR FRUITS

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

C. THE FRUIT: WHATEVER IS PRODUCED BY THE WILL OF GOD AND THE WORD OF GOD

24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:

27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

I'm glad your on top of things....lol...

What does the "good" look like in practical application? What are they doing/ not doing that makes you judge this is good fruit?

As noted above, there are two criteria for that which is good: (1) doing the will of God the Father, and (2) obeying the commandments of Christ. So that covers a wide range of words and actions.

You might like this. I hope so. :) It makes the answer lovely and Biblical at the same time.

here is the other side that maybe should be looked at a little more closely

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
Galatians 5

considering these 'positive' fruits, is really in stark contrast to exhibiting 'bad' fruits

But the fruit of the Spirit is...
This was addressed to the saints, to Christians.

But the context of Matthew 7:20 is entirely different.

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

This is what is in the context:

(1) ...he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven and

(2) whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them

At that point, the Holy Spirit had not been sent down, so the fruit of the Spirit would not be applicable.

So we, as humans, cannot judge any fruit for salvation? Or does man have his own pick to pluck from?

and you thought I did not know that because?

people are talking

I really have no clue what you are saying here. I don't think we are on the same page with what we want to address
maybe let them talk

one of His sayings is "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

it's right there in the beginning of Matthew 7, in fact.

next He says don't mess with a speck in your brothers eye; address the plank in your own.

sort of like saying, judge your own fruit before you think about anyone else's?

so i hear His saying - "stop judging by outward appearances, and instead judge rightly" ((John 7:24)) - and i should do this. and i should hear and do when He says don't judge or you will be judged in the same way. this is His will; it's why He says it.

what does that look like in practical application?

I like Isaiah 11 ...prophecy about Jesus....to underscore what Jesus says

1A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse;
from his roots a Branch will bear fruit.

2The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—
the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of might,
the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—

3and he will delight in the fear of the Lord.
He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes,
or decide by what he hears with his ears;

4but with righteousness he will judge the needy,
with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth.
He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth;
with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.

5Righteousness will be his belt
and faithfulness the sash around his waist.

Why are you so anxious to judge others about their salvation? That is God's business, not yours.

Amen. If Christ began the good work we have his confidence he will finish it all the way until the end (a work in the making)

Only God sees the heart. Man looks on the outside making evaluations, not judgments .One judge and law maker . The fruit is when we hear God he does the work so we can beleive Him not seen not of our own selves .

It is God who makes men differ from one another . like what do we have that we have not freely received from Him .Why boast as if we have not?

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent
. John 6:29

Because you presented the fruit of the Spirit, which is inapplicable.

ever hear of tunnel vision?

is it possible for you to write a positive post or do you actually think it is your obligation to correct everyone who does not think exactly like you do?

this
Why are you so anxious to judge others about their salvation? That is God's business, not yours.
from you in post 14 is ironic since that is what you appear to do time and time again

as I said before, we are not talking about the same thing and this is not your op

relax

do judge like Christ or after what you see? I suggest the latter which is not righteous judgement

I have been avoiding disagreeing with you because you tend to hound those you think are not of your exact beliefs

which is also why I am not responding to the debate you are trying so hard to get going

It isn't to judge the fruit, but recognize the tree by their fruit (Matt 7.15-20) so that we can know what to seek of Jesus in favor of this person.
