Why do you keep ignoring the verses I provided?
How do you know Romans 8:12-13 speak about spiritual death? Consider Verse 9:
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

God bless

I do not believe in OSAS. I believe in ISAS (if saved always saved), see 1 John 5:4. God bless
Since "overcometh" is a present active it means a continuous struggle to over come the world. But if you don't continue the struggle then you will not continue to be saved.

It is spiritual death because he is addressing "brothers and sisters" in Christ.

who overcomes the world?
me, or Jesus the Christ?

easy question.
answered:

These things I have spoken unto you,
that in Me ye might have peace.
In the world ye shall have tribulation:
but be of good cheer;
I have overcome the world.
(John 16:33)

Why are you jumping to another verse in another book of the Bible? Let's discuss the verse at hand.

hence in 1 John 5:4, "everyone born of God overcomes the world" we do not overcome the world in order to become born of God. we don't even overcome the world "with the Holy Spirit to help us do it" in order to become born of God.
God has overcome the world, therefore all who are in Him overcome the world through Him because He has already done it, just like Romans ch. 6-8 lays out. "
this is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith" !!

because, we're talking about overcoming the world, and about Christ, and Christ commanded us to search the scriptures because they testify of Him ((John 5:39)). why would i think i can understand 1 John 5:4 separated from the rest of His word? why would i do that when i know what John 5 says?
and because, see post #28 lol

AMEN....and this is the victory that over comes the world...EVEN our faith......and note....

a. God has dealt to man a measure of faith as a GIFT
b. JESUS begins the work of faith in us
c. Jesus finishes the work of faith in us
d. Jesus COMPLETES the work of faith in us

YET their stance would have JESUS be an inept liar that cannot finish that which he states he will finish and complete...a complete slap in the face to the Son of God.....

What must I do to lose it? Is it one act of backsliding? Of must I practice sin? God bless
I am not sure why you want to know how to lose your salvation? Has something happened that you are upset with God? If you have been truly born again and saved, something must have gone drastically wrong for you to be wondering what you need to do to lose your salvation?!
