Normalize? What is normal? Are all Christians normal? Sin is sin at the end of the day ain't it?

If same sex attraction is a "sin", so is over eating, or telling a "white" lie, etc.

All I'm saying is that no Christian is consistent when it comes to condemning sin.
We do have threads about fornication, adultery, and divorce for unbiblical reasons, but threads about men laying with men, always seem to bring out the homosexuals, such as yourself.

So you are saying that belief in the bible as the word of God, is wrong, because an extremely small portion of the population may take offense, by the shame they feel for knowingly engaging in an activity that God forbids?
No.

Claiming to know exactly what the Bible says and means in regards to any particular subject, and condemning people based on that only premise is what is wrong.

How are you any better than the Homosexual that lives across from you? Aren't you both human beings that aren't perfect?

How are your sins less than his/her sins?

You literally think that loving on people is the same as saying "You are an abomination" because a passage in Leviticus says so? What about the fact that you are wearing denim and polyester, or that you likely trim your beard, or that you probably eat shrimp and pork? Or Only the apparent anti homosexuality passage is valid?

No one is saying they are better sinners, but you ain't going to convince anyone that God is down with men buggering each other. The bible doesn't say that.

Part of my statement about modern Christian bias in language is included in my statement of "interpretation validation through tradition."

Gay people, are people, you nor I nor anyone else is "Holier" than them.

I would say that a deep study of the language, history and evolution of etymology would yield results in favor of determining that a lot of what we think the Bible says became true because it was interpreted in a particular way and became the Status Quo over time.
I would say that you are quite ignorant. Here's a verse from the OT LXX that uses the two root words (άρσενος κοίτην; arsenos koite) of ἀρσενοκοίτης (arsenokoites) to indicate male homosexual sex.

And whoever shall lie with a male (άρσενος κοίτην) as with a woman, they have both wrought abomination; let them die the death, they are guilty. Leviticus 20:13

ἀρσενοκοίτης (arsenokoites) is just a combination of these two words to designate a male homosexual. This was written 2nd or 3rd century BC, so it blows your claim out of the water that "ἀρσενοκοίτης = homosexual" is just a modern transliteration with modern Christian bias.

Nice try, but no cigar.

I never tried once to convince anyone that God is down with it, all I said is that we are in no place to condemn, or even be derrogatory towards anyone. No matter if they are Gay, weird, fat, lonely, or sexually immoral at any level.

In your opinion, does that advance the betterment of society?

How is this:

A good thing?

Do you think that is edifying for someones spirit?

Old testament was written in Hewbrew, not greek.

I'm sure you probably don't even know what the Septuagint is.

Understand I am not attacking anyone. I am only trying to convey the idea that maybe we don't know as much as we think.

I have a beautiful wife to lay with at night; in fact she has some dinner waiting for me when I get home. I also get to play the guitar tonight for my baby boy, he really enjoys the sounds it makes.

So shall we remove scripture from the bible concerning homosexuality, and never discuss it?

You are not a Christian. Your only purpose on this site, is to promote a homosexual agenda. It burns you up to no end, that Christians refuse to join the homosexuals revolt against God.

Discussion about specific statements made by God, is no condemnation.

I don't think the bible was written to tell "sinners" what they already know.

What burns me to no end is hatred.

That in fact is diametrically opposed to the Golden rule.

By the way, I don't believe the Bible to be inherent and it has very human origins.

I am no longer a Christian, partly because of the ugly truth I finally accepted.

Using Westboro Baptist Church as an example of Christianity is a straw man fallacy.

Just an example....

They aren't the only ones. Plus, you do agree with their message in regards to Homosexuality don't you? Otherwise we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Because I was one for a long time, at least 14 years, or 20 some odd years if you count my child hood.

It is a recent thing that has occurred to me, and I like to talk to people on here because it is a good tool to understand how widely missunderstood the bible and Christianity is.

Ironically what killed my faith was the faith itself.

I too would go preaching in the streets, telling others to repent or else they would burn in hell and I would baste in the glory of the Lord in heaven.

I too thought that I had the Holy Spirit, yet I ended up on the other side of the fence.

Either it left me, or it tricked me. Maybe I was wrong and never had it because it probably doesn't exist, or because I am a reprobate, destined to burn for eternity by default; not sure which one though.

If there's apoint you're trying to make, I missed it. The LXX was used extensively by Jews during that era. The apostles quoted from it extensively.

Exactly! Jews Living in the intertestamnetal period, under Roman rule (ancient Romans spoke Latin and Greek in case you didn't know). You forget that the Torah, Nevi'im and Ketuvim are much, much, older and they are the original versions of scripture, written in Hebrew.

True and complete meaning is almost always lost in translation.

Jews today do not use A Greek translation, they use a Hebrew version because that is the original language.
