As I stated, there is no Scripture for "music ministry".
There is no Scripture for being paid for said "music ministry".
When someone enters any ministry with the idea of making money, that is not ministry and will not be blessed.

Ugh!! These threads that dissect every move certain Christians make, and then tear them up like roaring lions, are exactly what we're told not to do to each other!

Hillsong has made some incredibly awesome praise and Worship music. Like every Christian I've ever met, they do get some things wrong. I think they have, perhaps unwittingly, really made a blunder with "So will I". Most of the song is beautiful, and the lyrics aspire to Worship, but because of the last line, although possibly just hyperbolic, I don't listen to it anymore. Here is the last passage:

A child You died to save
If You gave Your life to love them so will I
Like You would again a hundred billion times
But what measure could amount to Your desire
You’re the One who never leaves the one behind

The Lord's death was necessary ONCE, and He WILL NOT die for anyone again. But I'm going to post a couple of their awesome, Lord loving and Worship songs.

Listen to this song and tell me it's not a beautiful, pure Worship song loving our Lord and Savior.

what about this?

according to 1 Chronicles 23:3-6 David assigned 4,000 Levites to full-time praise of the LORD using musical instruments he had made and provided for that purpose. ((another 24,000 were devoted to the work of the house of God, at that time the tabernacle, but later the temple)).

making music to the LORD was their full-time occupation.

later in 2 Chronicles 29:25-30 when the book of the Law was found and Hezekiah purified the temple & reestablished its service, he put Levites back to work using the same musical instruments.

That was part of the Temple worship service. So was the sacrifice of animals.
The temple way of worship was ended when Jesus established His church.
I am not against music in the church.
But there is no Scripture basis for a paid music ministry in the church.

Or homeless ministries.
Or nearly anything that calls itself a ministry.
Would not ministry be someone that spreads the gospel through their gifts? Does it have to be specifically mentioned in the bible to be legitimate? I see no biblical basis for your claim either. Just a man made rule.

My first post was in response to Musicus post #9 where he said he hoped to make his living in "music ministry".
He said nothing about ministering to others, but his hope to make money.
There are many examples of Jesus, and the Apostles ministering to the down and out. They did it for the benefit of those in need, not to make a living.

To minister to any one in need is what we are to do. I applaud everyone who uses their talent to present the Gospel to everyone.
But why are you do it?
If you are doing it to make money, that is the wrong reason.
If you need a title, that is the wrong reason.
It seems to me there are to many who are in "ministry" for the wrong reason.
It is about money, fame, and recoqnition, not for the benefit of those in need.

Let me just say it is being done, but many are still blessed. In writing ministry for example, a Christian newspaper would consider earning from the writings, and a novelist would definitely hope to earn after finishing a book done for years. I believe there's nothing wrong with both writer and readers being blessed=). What i do not understand is why many people think differently abt music ministry...
 
I don't see a problem paying for ministry if it is full time. For example, we all agree that Pastors should be paid? Why not musicians?

I know someone who went to Hillsong for two years as a bible student.
During their time they were part of the large choir there. But they
also had bible training and leadership courses. Plus they were actively
involved in missionary work while they were there. They very much combined
worship with ministry, bible study and got involved in all sorts of different
types of evangelism.

That person is now an evangelist back in the UK who specialises in
prison ministry and goes into prisons to do counselling, services and holds
bible studies for prisoners.

If you were to ask them what they thought of Hillsong. I’m sure they would
tell you they received the best training and preparation ever for the work
God had planned for them back in the UK.

I didn't say I would be playing just in the church. I would be out in the world spreading the Word, also, on the road. It's a profession. I could go back into electronics for my profession too, but I'm called to play music.

I can not judge them I am not a fan of making money off of the gifts that you receive freely from God but let God be the judge almost every church I have visited they play a couple of their songs and I feel the anointing in them, everything comes out in the wash until then I hope they continue to put out anointed songs as they have.

I want to add to what I said for clarification. I was a professional musician for 15 years, mostly secular. I want to play professionally again, but Christian gospel only. If I were to find myself in the position of making lots of money through sales of gospel music I pray I will be of a good heart and give most of that money to charity. That's the plan, anyway. Otherwise I only expect to make what I need, like any regular job (with the benefit of spreading the Word this time, which is my passion) which in the music biz is hard enough anyway, so it would take God's blessing and anointing to go beyond that I'm sure.

Or maybe the author is explaining in their own way about battling five different demons all saying the same thing it's ok your a queen don't sweat it, but actually it's a false crown which needs to be dropped and be one red heart instead of five white. Surely people know sometimes it can be a challenge to be still and at piece in mind, body and soul.


on the surface the video may look demonic yet possible that is the way the author wanted to present their self on the inside which could be in choas battling demons being pulled in five different direction, the bible mentions Mary Magadalan as having seven.

I see nothing demonic in this video. The author sort of personifies anxiety near the beginning but that's understandable to me. It seems to be about inner battles we all face at one time or another. At the end it's clearly stated that Jesus is the author of peace. What's demonic about that? I found it inspiring.
