The Bible tells us that God hates certain people and He hates all sin, we can't get around it. The Bible doesn't tell us not to hate at all, it says that hating without cause is a sin

right

so just dodge what scripture says about God loving the entire world so much He gave His only Son

yes God cannot tolerate sin which is why He sent His Son

are your sins forgiven? did you earn that?

kindly quote the scripture that says this:

The Bible doesn't tell us not to hate at all, it says that hating without cause is a sin

Christians are poison when they condemn others because they consider themselves saved and therefore have the right to act in God's place

There's no such thing as "believers hating each other". Only a hypocrite can hate a true believer.

We need to face the fact that 90% of those who profess to be Christians are hypocrites, they are not true believers. You can identify them by their fruits, just compare their works with those of Jesus and it will quickly become apparent who they are.

It's painful obvious that most people here are hypocrites, they attack others who don't agree with their views.

oh but YOU don't do that, right?

so where did you pull that 90% from?

I'm going to guess you made it up

like most people who think everyone but them is a hypocrite

everyone is a hypocrite to some extent and some more than others

We are to love what God loves and hate what He hates. Many will try to manipulate spiritual Christians by getting them to love their flesh...exactly what God hates. So then these manipulators will call spiritual people...haters....since they identify with their flesh.

So we must be wise in this regard to the wiles of the devil.

How many Christians like to love what God loves but leave off hating what He hates?

God hates every evil way.

We are to expose ourselves to the hatred of they who love the flesh...by being called haters ourselves. Did the Pharisees think Jesus loved them?

Jesus hated the way of the Pharisees. We are also to hate the manipulating ways of the flesh...and expose the flesh for what it is. The most evil way of the flesh is to claim justification for itself by "hiding" behind a "belief" in Jesus. So then the church harbours the best and the worst of the world. The most stringent judgment from God is for Christians...all of whom claim to know and love God.

Will we fail to hate what God hates? We do so at our own peril.

thats not really addressing the op though

why focus so much on hate when God has a cure for that also?

it is NOT ok to hide behind God and say hatred is sanctified by God because the kind of hatred the op is talking about is NOT sanctified

however it sure is educational to see how many folks jump on being allowed to hate because God hates something

if y'all hate sin so much, and are filled with such righteous anger at it, maybe ask God to show you your own heart

not too many actually do that IMO

yes I have...it's a wake up call and you start to look at others differently when you understand that if we are in the ark, it is God who put us there

sin kills...like the flood waters. you cannot sustain yourself in a sea of sin. only God keeps us

here's the op again

1 John 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

It seem that there are some on this sight that express a lot of hate toward others.
This is very evident when people discuss politics. A lot of hate toward the president.
Even in the BDF toward those who disagree with them.

Some seriously need to examine their fellowship with the Lord.

Can't we afford one post that promotes holiness...on a Christian chat?

however it sure is educational to see how many folks jump on being allowed to hate because God hates something
We aren't to hate from the flesh...but from the Spirit.

Again..not from the flesh...

sin kills...like the flood waters. you cannot sustain yourself in a sea of sin. only God keeps us
We are to speak the truth in love. Some people only see the word love in there...and some only see truth....but we are to do both. Many people will forgo the truth for what they think is love...but it's actually just a respect of persons and a love of the praises from men.

As a Saint of God, I am Christ like. We know that Christ hates certain people so it's follows that we should hate them as well if we are followers of Christ. Those who only preach about Gods love are only preaching half of the Gospel, God demonstrated His hatred of sinners many times.
I shouldn't have to remind anyone here, about Gods hatred towards sinners. Remember He wiped out the whole world bar 8 people, He wiped out entire cities at other times and He ordered His people to wipe out entire races of people.

The Bible is very clear that God hates sin, after all He doesn't cast people into the lake of fire because He loves them. I'm a sinner and even I want to see the reprobate severely punished, so imagine how much more a Holy Gods does.

The opposite of love is not hate...it is indifference or fear. All love (if it's real) has hate in it. We hate that which hurts what we love. Otherwise we would be indifferent towards what we love.

So our motive for hating must be love. We hate that which destroys love. We are to love the truth. So we should hate lies and everything that distorts the truth.

We should never hate a person. We can hate their way or their words or actions...but we should always hold out hope that the person can receive love. Then maybe they will stop destroying that which is trying to save them.

and did a little birdie tell you that? I know I didn't tell you that. that is you ADDING to what I said in order to try and make your own point.

Can't we afford one post that promotes holiness...on a Christian chat?
you were actually promoting it is ok to hate sin because God hates sin. and my point is that too often the sinner is hated along with his sin

We aren't to hate from the flesh...but from the Spirit.
that's gibberish. and nonsense too. I just bet your spirit gets all hateful towards sin while you quietly sip a tea.

well lookie loo...that is the point of the op. so called 'truth' is not being spoken in love

and please stop the preaching. it's not an excuse for behavior that most people would not exhibit in public and not in a church

hate all you want and one day explain that to God when He says...'I was NOT giving you permission to exhibit a bad temper while telling others it is holiness'

some people will never get what the op is about ...but the funny thing is, justification of hatred pops up like a mushroom in a field of...whatever mushrooms pop up in

anyway, those who get the op, are not excusing behavior

done

Because I have been born again, I'm not enslaved to sin. A converted person's sins are not counted against him, they have all been forgiven and he is justified and made righteous. The reprobate do many good works, they donate their hard earned money to feed the poor, they help old ladies cross the street and many other good works but their best works are as filthy rags in the sight of God.

God accepts the good works of His elect, because He sees His Son's reflection in them

I am not talking about the value of good works of the redeemed.

And for this reason you have been given the right by God to have this want ...... ?
I want to see the reprobate severely punished,
So you delight in people getting what is coming to them and not only that you want it?

As someone has already said to you, I think on this thread, you have not been conferred the right to feel this way by God

Once upon a time an eternally secure, born-again man after God's own heart murdered a man named Uriah. David had eternal life but he didn't have eternal life abiding in him; he had cover-up abiding in him. Later on he evicted cover-up and invited eternal life back in.

I was trying to explain that I have a sense of justice, even as a sinner where I like to see justice being served upon the wicked. So if I as a sinner have such a sense of justice, imagine how much more God has it.

I'm sure you're no different, surely you like to see justice served as well. I notice the reaction of the crowd in a cinema when they finnaly catch up with the bad guy and give him a beating. People get excited and say things like yeah give it to him, so even sinners have this inbuilt sense of justice.

your so called sense of justice is exactly that!

it is YOUR sense of justice. you cannot judge hearts...yet you have the nerve to be on here saying Christians are sodomites!!

wake up dude...Jesus is speaking to YOU, in this very thread...as you judge you will be judged and you are making it worse and worse upon yourself

I used to judge too...unrighteously...so I know it when I see it

Punishment is not justice.
Punishment is deterrence
Justice is the making something whole again.

When we go to court because someone has stolen from us, the court makes us whole by returning to us what was taken and punishing the offender as a deterrent to more crime.

Jesus by His Mercy died to makes us whole, that is Justice.

However, in your schema Jesus only died for some so you feel justified wanting only their punishment.

Yet the punished were never selected to not be punished. But then that is okay because this morally ambiguous God and only loves some for some unknown reason.

It all works so well as long as one is willing to view God this way, and then request the adherents of this dogma to never question it.

you can't make this up!

So our motive for hating must be love. We hate that which destroys love. We are to love the truth. So we should hate lies and everything that distorts the truth.

the above is a trap for the unwary

what does the Bible say?

GOD IS LOVE

that is who God IS

the Bible does not say God is hate

saying our motive for hate must be love is not to be found in Scritpure...it just insn't there!

WHAT SIN IS IT WE ARE TO HATE?

we are to hate the sin WE OURSELVES commit

show me where it says we hate the sin in others and self righteously call it 'love' and I will show you someone who has gone off the tracks and created an expression that best suits their own attitude

if you see how impure your own thoughts are, you will stop hating the sin in others and you sure will not think it is done with gone God's blessing

this is serious stuff here. don't be fooled by this 'I can hate because God hates'

there is no human being on this planet who loves as God loves.

we KNOW God hates sin. we KNOW that!

you don't put out a fire by throwing more fuel on it and yet that is what is going on here.

hatred is not expressed as one of God's attributes. love, on the other hand, is

even when God hates, He is holy...righteous...perfect...now if you can claim that?

prepare to be translated

I'm not answering any more of these "I am allowed to hate' excuses so hold your breath

however I will stand up for God who is righteous and holy and never told us to hate something in another person and point out their sin while failing to see where our own failures in dealing with the 'sin that so easily besets us' go either ignored or excused

9 Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness.

10 Anyone who loves their brother and sisterlives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble.

11 But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them.

I John 2: 9-17
