There is no question both God and satan speak to us, but he is saying audibly. He is not physically hearing God's voice I assure you.
Oh, but I am hearing God's voice audibly. I assure you of that.

When you say audibly do you mean heard him through your physical ears, through other people, or in your head?
I'll give you 1 example of many times this happened. I was going through a big issue w/ my ex. I was at a park w/ my dog and I was tempted to send my ex a specific text but, before I sent it, I prayed about it and asked God if I should send it to him or not. I asked God for an answer within 2 hours and at the time, I was feeling extremely angry. I asked God if sending that text would interfere w/ God's plan and would somewhat put a damper on the situation btwn me and my ex and make things worse. Within 10 min, I heard God subtly tell me not to send the text and he completely took my anger away from me and filled me w/ the deepest peace and that peace stayed with me for the rest of the day/night.

But, I can hear God audibly (through my ears) or sometimes, the answer does come in my head, but, whenever I hear from God, he follows it by giving me extremely deep peace.

When you pray, but don't speak your prayers, and just say them "in your head," how do you think God hears your prayers? It's a know fact people hear voices in their head. That's how Muhammad began the religion of Islam. He began hearing voices and having visions. That can happen to Christians too.

The word INSPIRED means "God breathed or God spoke." When God spoke to his apostles and prophets, do you think he spoke to them 'audibly' out of thin air through their ears? Or did he speak to them in their head. When John, Daniel, Ezekiel etc, had dreams and visions, do you think what they heard was heard in their ears, or in their head? When we hear voices in our head, it's actually audible. Can Satan hear our thoughts? Can angels hear our thoughts? Absolutely, that's how the spirit world works.

God also speaks to us "audibly" through other people. And most of the time, the other person doesn't know he is being used by God to bring you a message.

So basically my question for the OP is...

"Did you hear an audible voice in your head, or did you hear God speaking to you 'audibly' through your ears?"

We are not only in a physical world, we also surrounded by a spirit world.
Of the 20 times I've heard God speak to me audibly over the last 16 years, 18 times, he has spoken to me through my ears. 2 times was in my head (as far as I know). It's extremely distinct. Very Very clear. Whenever he tells me to do something, I'll listen. A few times as I prayed to him outta frustration or anger, he'd give me a word --- most times it was only a few words but 1 time, it was a long sentence and EACH time he told me something, he filled me up w/ deep peace. Everything God has told me over the years has been encouraging, positive, sometimes challenging but still positive. I know w/o a shadow of a doubt that it was God. People often times talk down at me for sharing this, but, they can put me down, tell me it's all in my head or whatever, but, I tell you the truth, this is what I've experienced and I believe it was all from God.

What is the voice saying audibly to you, if you don't mind?
The very first time I heard God speak to me was in school, in chapel. I was going thru some issues back then. A speaker was speaking and out of nowhere, I heard a voice tell me not to worry, that I will be ok.

Since that never happened to me before, I thought my friend said something to me. I asked her if she said anything to me. She said no. She told me it was God.

Then, I didn’t get another word from God until 2011. He nudged me to pray for someone. After praying 6 months, I asked out of frustration. He told me, one day, he will be saved. Received peace afterwards. And several months down the line, God told me that he was going to use the 2 of us one day.

I’m not going to tell u each story. Way too many. If you read my above replies, you’ll see some other stories that I wrote.

As I said, each time after God told me something, I was filled with the deepest peace.

We need to understand about devils and demons and how they operate so we can protect ourselves from them. Whether they speak to someone so they can hear them is really beside the point.

God created angels before humans, and there are three kinds. There were six archangels, and two rebelled, taking a third of the rest of the angels with them.

The other kind of Satan is Nephilim, a union of fallen angels and humans. Christ told us of angels who can take on human form when we are told to welcome strangers as they might be angels. When this kind of angel has rebelled and marry humans they produce demons. Goliath was one.

Some think that scripture warns us of these in the last days.

The goal of all of Satan is to be worshipped as God. They offer us good things, except all of these lead to death. They tell us to look to the stars for our answers, not to God. They tells us that excelling in sports, giving sports our all, leads to what God would offer. They tell us that the physical pleasure of sex is better than using sex as a marital union. Etc.

Just as Satan fooled Eve, Satan is using the very same tactics with us, offering substitutions to God's ways. God's ways lead to life, Satan leads to death.

Liquid Church. Why?

At the time, way back when I was attending Emergence. They’re both non-denomination churches.
It's not God speaking to you.

Be careful listening to that voice. I can tell you how you will know between you and I if that voice is really God. If you have intentional sin in your life, that is not God. An only you and God knows if you intentionally sin.

You'd be better off searching the Scriptures. God told Peter that He could trust the Scripture even more than His experience on the mount of transfiguration.

2 Peter 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

They didn't have bibles at that time. A word of prophecy = definition of prophecy - a prediction

Come on Dudley, do right by the faith since saying something is no different that speaking something knowing that they both infer the use of the audible word

So tell me how you think God who only hath immortality hears sinners and I will show you why the Holy One doesn't.

We are not only in a physical world, we also surrounded by a spirit world.
Even Jesus gave a litmus test for the spiritual world that shows its substance as 99% imaginary and evidence strength less than 1%,
( 0% would an absolute lie)

The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. John 3:8

God no longer speaks to us audibly like He did to Moses. Satan no longer speaks to us audibly like he did to Eve. The only way you can hear voices today is by mental illness or imagination. And no matter the message or the messager, you know it's from God only if it matches scripture in correct covenant and context.

So, the person who committed mass murder and then told a psychiatrist, "they heard voices telling them to kill," is nothing but 100% mental illness?

I see this as a person who first of all has no moral values, secondly is extremely vulnerable to hearing demonic voices and believing them as the right thing to do, and it is the actual act of killing that defines this person as mentally ill.

But still, to commit the act of mass murder which is clearly an act of insanity, this person did in fact hear from the pits of hell and entertained the voices until they believed in them.

The Adversary speaks to us all of time. From doing something bad to another, to thinking wrongly of another, to taking that evil thought and acting it out upon another person, it all stems from the pits of hell!!

It is not up to you to take the place of God who is the only one who has been given the authority to judge what is going on in other lifes. You may only judge what is sinful and what isn't.

I have perceived the presence of angels twice in my life, and frankly I don't care if you believe me or if you don't. Twice I made a request of them, twice I was told they had to get permission to grant my request, and twice they did what I requested.

However, my coming in contact with angels is not important, just as hearing the voice of a demon is njot important. However. It is extremely important that we recognize the calling of God and we recognize how demons work in our life today.

Adam and Eve did not understand demons, if they had we would live in an entirely different world. The information is available to us today and few people are paying any attention to it If we took the work of demons out of our churches and life today and all lived with Christ what a change we would have!!

The names of the months and days are from idols given us by demons. Our holidays are copies of days celebrating what demons led people to, only they Christianized them partly. Our newspapers would be entirely different, TV would be about families, and movies would completely change. Thrills would be in achieving something good

I'm curious. I'm trying to figure something out. I have been praying and asking God about something and so far, no answer.

But, God has spoken to me audibly. Can Satan speak to me audibly to in the same voice God uses?

I also have a story/question about a false sense of peace.

Back, about 13-14 years ago, I was in school and was talking to this one guy. He was talking to me and saying something to me about the bible. (he was a christian). I started to feel peace, but it didn't seem right and i couldn't fully agree w/ what this guy was saying to me. When I went back to my dorm room, I prayed about what the guy told me and the "peace" I was feeling. I told God that I didn't agree w/ the guy and I was questioning if that peace was from God because it didn't feel right. While I was praying, I felt the 1 peace leave --- i don't know how to describe how it felt, but, it felt not normal --- not like the peace I was used to, so, the one peace left and what replaced it was the most magnificent peace ever. It felt like the holy spirit was coursing through my body and it was a huge turnaround for me. That peace stayed w/ me for a few hours.

I had read up on this at that time where it said that Satan can mimic God but he can't give off exactly what God can give off. That Satan can give peace, but a false sense of peace and we should be able to distinguish btwn them. I've been receiving peace from God ever since 2004 (3 yrs after I got saved) and I know exactly what God's peace feels like. I feel like I've only experienced Satan's false sense of peace 1 time and that was in school.

I've been through a lot over the last 6 months. I feel like I have heard from God a lot, but, I feel like things have only contradicted w/ what people have said and that has confused me. They said God will only tell you encouraging things and Satan will tell you negative things and things to confuse/deceive you and your situation. I personally, don't feel like Satan has told me anything negative. I feel like I've only been told positive things but now am really trying to decipher what I was told.

Can the peace Satan gives you mimic God's peace more? Or is there such a difference, like the way, I experienced that someone would be able to tell what was from God and what was from Satan.
Out of curiosity, are you speaking of that feeling like warm waves washing over and through you and at the same time there are goosebumps on your arms?
