In the end,the law of the spiritual nature is..."by beholding we become changed",we become like that which we most admire, anything that
lessens our fix on Christ, becomes our enemy, and the contrast,as we behold the matchless friendship of God,we become friends with Him.

Okay, so I have a question (prompted by the song currently playing), what do you guys think about songs that aren't by specifically Christian artists, but aren't explicit or derogatory either? Or how about Matisyahu?

I dont have a problem with them at all. I tend to listen to a variety of bands from all backgrounds. I'll still say though 30 seconds to mars is probably my favorite

"some people will claim everything is satanic "

Yep, we just like pestering you with a figment of our imagination. We get a sort of sadistic glee, from trying to force others into following the bible... because what the bible says is really bad, huh...

6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 11 To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

27 “Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. 28 Father, glorify your name!”
Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.” 29 The crowd that was there and heard it said it had thundered; others said an angel had spoken to him.
30 Jesus said, “This voice was for your benefit, not mine. 31 Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out. 32 And I, when I am lifted up[g] from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” 33 He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die. 34 The crowd spoke up, “We have heard from the Law that the Messiah will remain forever, so how can you say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this ‘Son of Man’?”

28 “You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29 I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe. 30 I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me, 31 but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me. “Come now; let us leave.

1 “All this I have told you so that you will not fall away. 2 They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God. 3 They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me. 4 I have told you this, so that when their time comes you will remember that I warned you about them. I did not tell you this from the beginning because I was with you, 5 but now I am going to him who sent me. None of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’ 6 Rather, you are filled with grief because I have said these things. 7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 about sin, because people do not believe in me; 10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 11 and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.
12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”

NOTE: Text formatting isn't working well, so I could not properly quote the passages. They are 1 peter 5, John 12,14, and 16.

Hello :)

My name's Tiggy and I would like some email-pals!

But anyway....

I come from a very conservative christian family, and we believe that modern music and media are the works of the devil. We don't have a TV, but when we did, when you turned it on, all you saw was images of practically naked women! And on the radio, men rapping about... well I don't even wand to say it! I don't understand how people can watch things like that. I mean, it is only proper to see a woman like that when it's your wife, on your wedding night! Is there anyone here who feels that same way?

Tiggy.
I agree rather wholeheartedly :). I do not currently live in a Christian household. My dad and step mam are far from Christians. I found Jesus through my own way's, but that's a whole different story. I think The basic principle of television itself is not evil, like most things. But it's how it's used and for what reasons that can change everything. However unfortunately it is being used mostly for the wrong reasons going by some of the things you can watch on it (IMO). You just need to be careful on what you watch, I pray to God for a heart of discernment for these things. For we cannot change everything around us and we also cannot chose what we are exposed to ALL the time, but that's where God can come in.

You know that little voice of truth in the midst of your conscience somewhere that every now and then speaks up some form of righteousness when you know your doing or watching something you shouldn't but we so often ignore that it's almost routine and unheard. The one that usually says something along these lines: "Should I really be watching this?"or "Should I really be doing this?" now did you ever notice it's not an angry voice like that of your mam when you've not tidied your room, but it's a concerned voice. It's a loving voice. "Should I really be watching this?..". I encourage you all who have read this just to try and listen to this voice we so often ignore. Cause it is in fact our Loving Father trying tenderly to reach out to us, to protect our so fragile and sponge like minds. And if we would only take that first step to not only hear it, but obey it. His voice will certainly become more frequent in all our lives.

"Listen, O heavens and hear, O earth; For the Lord speaks..." (ISAIAH 1:2)

I'm sorry I got rather off the topic with all that :p, but I felt almost a stirring in my soul to bring it up. Also I would be privileged to be your friend on here Tiggy :). Godbless.

The world is Satan's dominion. Therefore it is reasonable to conclude that he controls most of it, if not all of it. Compare everything you see or hear in the world and align it against the word of God. Compare it to the holiness of God and you will quickly conclude that Satan is in everything... music, tv, books, radio... everything. Bible specifically says not to be ignorant of Satan's devices and the Lord says in the bible that his people are destroyed through lack of knowledge. If this were not so, the world would not come under the rule of the anti-Christ as outlined in Revelation. Things get much worse in the future...

Although his power is nothing compared to the Lord's, don't underestimate him. The only reason we can boast that he has minimal power is because we are under the power of God but think of all the unsaved who are not aligned with God and see the enemy working in their lives... He is even working in the lives of many Christian's. This is why you must be spirit-filled and 100% aligned with Christ.

It's all very simple... if you are not with Jesus Christ, you're with Satan. And even if you are with Jesus Christ, the bible still takes Satan very seriously given all the warnings against his wiles that are spoken about in God's word. You must constantly be on guard and applying spiritual armour and spiritual warfare because Satan and his demonic hosts will constantly be trying to find a hole in your hedge. There is nothing Satan would love more than to hurt those who love Jesus.

Oh and scriptural support:

Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices- 2 Corinthians 2:11

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children- Hosea 4:6

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them- 2 Corinthians 4:4

Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God- 2 Thessalonians 2:4

For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way- 2 Thessalonians 2:7

Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders- 2 Thessalonians 2:9

eh im more inclined that unlress something has blatantly satanic or evil undertones im fine with it. Like i dont listen to music thats sexual or filled with cursing or anything...so i dont see a problem with my choices. I mean typical song lyrics for me are this

A warning to the people,
The good and the evil,
This is war.

To the soldier, the civilian,
The martyr, the victim,
This is war.

It's the moment of truth, and the moment to lie,
The moment to live and the moment to die,
The moment to fight, the moment to fight
To fight, to fight, to fight!

To the right, To the left
We will fight to the death!
To the edge of the earth
It's a brave new world
From the last to the first

To the right, To the left
We will fight to the death!
To the edge of the earth
It's a brave new world
It's a brave new world!

A warning to the prophet,
The liar, the honest,
This is war.

To the leader, the pariah,
The victor, the messiah,
This is war.

It's the moment of truth, and the moment to lie,
The moment to live and the moment to die,
The moment to fight, the moment to fight,
To fight, to fight, to fight!

To the right, To the left
We will fight to the death!
To the edge of the earth
It's a brave new world
From the last to the first

To the right, To the left
We will fight to the death!
To the edge of the earth
It's a brave new world
It's a brave new world
It's a brave new world!

I do believe in the light
Raise your hands into the sky
The fight is done, the war is won
Lift your hands toward the sun
Toward the sun
Toward the sun
Toward the sun
The war is won

To the right, To the left
We will fight to the death!
To the edge of the earth
It's a brave new world
From the last to the first

To the right, To the left
We will fight to the death!
To the edge of the earth
It's a brave new world
It's a brave new world
It's a brave new world!

A brave new world
The war is won
The war is won
A brave new world

Nothing evil or really questionable i don't think. its not christian but its also not evil. it just is

When I said he was in everything, I meant he's in elements of everything. There is nothing he is not in. But I didn't mean he is in EVERYTHING as in every single song, every single TV show or whatever. I just meant that he is the God of this world, so he has a perverted version of all things. Don't forget he is pretty unoriginal... he just takes what is holy and puts his own evil spin on it.

P.S Something is actually either evil or holy because there is only God or Satan. Only two sides. It can't be in between.

For every song you can quote as not attacking some kind of bible-related topic, I can quote ten that do. The point that Jenesis and I tried to make is still the same. The prince of this world, has great influence over it. It can be seen everywhere.

Matthew 12
Jesus and Beelzebul

22 Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see. 23 All the people were astonished and said, “Could this be the Son of David?”

24 But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons.”
25 Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. 26 If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? 27 And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. 28 But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.
29 “Or again, how can anyone enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can plunder his house.
30 “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. 31 And so I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come. 33 “Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. 34 You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. 35 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36 But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. 37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”
