I went on vacation with my family to the Great Smoky Mountains this past weekend for a huge car show and gathering, and while we were there for 4 days, I met a very special, very righteous pastor named Glenn from South Carolina. This man was full of euphemisms pertaining to the Bible and what the Holy Spirit had shown him, and many other Biblical "nuggets" as he called them, and the biggest one that hit me was when he explained why the U.S. was so blessed.

He pointed out that in the word Jerusalem, right in the very center of the word is three very interesting letters:

JER(USA)LEM

I had never noticed this before, let alone even thought about it.....but it hit me like a ton of bricks. He then went on to explain that the biggest reason why God has been so merciful to us as a nation is because we stand with Israel, we recognize Israel and Jerusalem as it's capital. Barack Obama tried to destroy our relations and ties with Israel and turn on them, look it up.
President Trump can be obnoxious at times, and can be a loud mouth, but i truly respect the man for reaffirming and strengthening our relationship with Israel. You'll be hard pressed to find a single Democrat who believes in an alliance with Israel. Every civilization or empire that rose against Israel fell, God saw to that, because that is the Lord's chosen people. And the biggest reason the Lord stays his hand and why we are so blessed is because we stand with them and support them.

Also why we are blessed is because we started off Christian from the beginning. The Pilgrims came here to get freedom of religion, and to keep it. They realized that there could be no state sponsored religion as was common in Europe.

Once printing became commonplace, people started finding the Bible truths for themselves. The son of perdition was exposed (antichrists = popes). When Protestants broke away from Rome they also made their people join their little sect. Unfortunately, they did not protest everything they learned from the Catholics, so they carried on with many of their errors.

The people in Great Britain were starting to get educated and were demanding basic human rights from their king. When we wrote the US Constitution it had its basis in the Magna Carta of Great Britain (1215). Getting the government right was, I believe, God ordained. We became a world power after winning the war with Spain (1898). We became a super power after WW I.

Because His Hand was on this nation as He continues to complete His plan to redeem mankind to him.

Great thread. It also helps to put those American's who are not proud of this nation into a clearer perspective. As well as those who are foreign and have similar feelings.

I don't think we are blessed. I think we are under judgment. But that is just my opinion.

No, you are right. It comes along with calling ourselves of God. When we do that, we have blessings and cursings depending whether we obey God. God looks at a country that is called upon His name and sees all the evil going on, the curse is on it's way.

Hosea 4:1-6 "Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood. Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.

Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another: for thy people are as they that strive with the priest. Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."

Sounds like the USA doesn't it? pondering-and-thinking-smiley-emoticon.gif

Yes. In America, abortion alone is proof of His judgment. We are literally slaughtering our own inhabitants. Just as many kingdoms of the world before us, America will rise up and then we will fall. We are a young country, we may seem strong now, but historically, we are babies and it will take little to topple us. Initially, we called God ours and then we turned our back on Him. God is a jealous God and He won't be mocked.

I can definitely see where you are coming from, and I also agree in spots, I just see us more blessed than we deserve, and it makes sense, God is sending judgment not just to our nation, but to every nation, because the kinds of things happening here, you can rest assured are taking place all over the globe.

Yes, but historically, the world is getting better. But, I'm post-mil, so that makes to me. The new heavens and new earth are being ushered in. ;-)

Interesting, I have heard that as well in other spiritual conversation. As though the earth is being prepared for the new age.

More like the earth is being turned into heaven. NT Wright wrote a fantastic book called Reflecting the Glory that explains the idea much better then I can.

Thank you !
I believe I heard this also in the context of the great medical and humanitarian advances being made in Israel, in preparation for the Millennial Kingdom.
