I know I have been posting a lot lately. Idk if it’s just a mental thing or what. I know we are suppose to fear God. Here lately I feel I have an unnatural fear of God I’m really scared of Him. He can strike you down allow things to happen so much. I lOve God, but I’m also very scared of Him. I get odd thoughts and it’s concerning me. How do I get past this? Or is this something that happens to everyone one point of time?

So from a spiritual perspective there's an emotion attached to God similar to fear I guess. It has more to do with his powers I think. It's still 90% love, 10% fear if I had to explain it with English words. However the emotion actually does not exist here on earth. It's hard to get too wrapped up in the English individual isolated words like holiness. I didn't know we felt holiness from God...and that is its own emotion. Not sure that makes any sense, but Ive had a near death experience so I'm trying to be articulant with it and failing. Lol the simple answer is you feel love greater than anyone you have loved or has loved you.

From an earthly perspective people say fear means respect. I'm comfortable enough with that since I wouldn't want to hurt God with my ways, even though I'm sure I do at times. It's just not how I would describe him bc he is love. You automatically love him back when near him bc you feel his love for you.

The odd thoughts... Everyone has them. If your going through a hard time they are worse bc they are actually demons messing with you. When you're down they kick you. Hence why you are afraid of God...but God is on your side! So just go to him.

I will pray for your struggles. This is odd... That being said I just took a quick peek at your profile and this caught my attention:
"I am in medical its my passion I love helping and caring for the sick."

I suspect that in your line of work that the 'odd thoughts' as you describe them - are possibly explainable and may merely be a result of your being so close and personal to witness the struggles and loss of so many...

I suspect that everyone handles the potential escalating volume of such exposure differently.
The fact that you are keenly aware of this, and have the sense to reach out for some sort of reassurance is a good sign. I see it as both a sign to listen to your mind and body - calling out...

It might not be a bad idea to visit your spiritual leader and/or seek counsel - don't be too proud to ask for assistance. Everyone needs a life-raft at some point, and in your case you may very well just need an opportunity to decompress and reset your mind and body a bit... Maintain your spiritual strength, good luck and God Bless

Yes, I see a lot of loss, and sad tomes. Even with people around me, it scares me because it’s like God has the power to do what he pleases and it makes me affraid of Him.

When you said my mind and body calling out? Can you explain? Thank you very much for taking time to reply! God Bless!

I see fearing God as fear of offending God and a righteous awe and respect for Him (Proverbs 1:7; Psalm 34:9; Isaiah 66:2). Prior to my conversion, while still attending the Roman Catholic church several years ago, I basically saw God as a tyrant who couldn't wait to punish me every time I messed up. That is an unhealthy fear!

The Bible says "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." (Psalm 111:10) To fear the Lord is to hold Him in the highest regard, with the greatest amount of respect and reverence. The Lord desires that His people both fear and love Him.

Why would God do that if He loves you so much that He sent Jesus Christ to die for your sins and rise from the dead to provide for you eternal life? (John 3:16). For God has not given us a spirit of fear/timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)

re: listen to your mind and body calling out... The fact that you have reached out to this cc form for feedback and the three statements I copied above - IMHO simply suggests that your mind and body are calling for help... Listen to these signs/indicators, and seek counsel thru your church and/or with a counselor. God Bless

Reading the Book of Job will be a great help to you...
JOB 13:11.
Shall not His excellency make you afraid? and His dread fall upon you?

MAL. 2:4-5-6.
And you shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you, that My covenant might be with Levi, saith The LORD of Hosts.

My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared Me,
and was afraid before My Name.

The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with Me in peace and equity,
and did turn many away from iniquity.

ROM. 13:12.
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of Light.

Suffering from anxiety and depression appears to be the root cause of why you have an unnatural fear of God. I'm very sorry to hear about your niece. :(

God does not want to get rid of you. Here are some promises in the Bible from the Lord to take comfort in.

Proverbs 1:33 But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil.

Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (y):)

You can be struck down at any time but that is not God's will. His will is that you enter a personal relationship with Him. In that relationship is true rest and comfort, even in those difficult times when He can only hear your groans. He understands them perfectly. Life hurts and sometimes it feels like we cannot hold on...sometimes we can't. He can.

You are in my prayers.

Thank you very much for your words of encouragement! I never thought like that before now I always think God is toying with my mind ready to strike me down. But I pray that I enter that rest in Him. I definitely agree about the feeling like I Can’t hold on. Thank you again. Yes please pray for me I’ll do the same for you! God Bless

I feel like that too, about hurting God's feelings and about his power at times.
But his power is not against us. He's very protective. It's just a normal human reaction.
