Purgatory is a mockery on the justice of God and a disgraceful fabrication that robs Jesus Christ of His glory and honor. Jesus Christ alone satisfied divine justice, once and for all, by the perfect and finished sacrifice of Himself on the cross for our sins. The fatal deception of purgatory blinds Roman Catholics from the glorious gospel of Christ and denies the sufficiency of Christ's atonement for sin on the cross. It is one of Satan's many lies which keep his captives from knowing and trusting the sufficiency of Jesus Christ.

i actually embrace the gospel of Jesus, your version not so much, IMO Jesus did not come to undo everything His Father said up until that point. matter of fact Jesus even said scripture can not be laid aside, in order to make your "no judgment"theory work we have to lay aside many scriptures.

We don't lay aside any of the Law because the Law is a teacher bring us to the knowledge of our absolute need for the Atonement of the LORD Jesus Christ to have eternal life with God in his perfect existence.. The Laws purpose is to reveal to us that we are all sinners in need of Gods grace..

This is really Christianity 101 Jesus came to save sinners from judgement that would see us cast into the eternal lake of fire.. He came to pay the penalty for our sins.. Once we accept the gift from Jesus by believing Him and trusting in the atonement He secured for our salvation then we shall not be facing any eternal consequences for our transgressions against Gods Law..

Really if you believe that salvation is obtained by law doing and that Christians will be judged for their sins then i doubt you are saved... Jesus saves ... He does the saving ... He justifies us.. We do not save ourselves by our feeble attempts at performing up to the perfect standards of God..

I don't know how to be more clear on this.. But if you reject the Way God has made for us to be Redeemed and justified then there is nothing i can do more for you in this discussion..

I consider the first three gospels to be the gospel of the sermon on the mount - instructions for life under Judaism (much of it applying to the Millennial kingdom of Christ. (pre-crucifixion)

John is the gospel of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ (post-crucifixion) as the author is now an old man writing in 90 a. d. and familiar with the epistles of Paul.

Three speak of living under the Law, the latter to those that are dead to the Law but alive to Jesus Christ.

In Matthew Christ is seen as the King of the Jews - it's primary audience was the Jews.
In Mark Christ is seen as the servant of man - it's primary audience was to the Romans.
In Luke Christ is seen as the perfect man - it's primary audience was to the Greeks.
In John Christ is seen as very God of very God and Saviour of the world - it's audience was to the world.

Luke also wrote the book of Acts wherein he describes the transition from Judaism to Christianity and shows the point in history where God stopped dealing with Israel and turned to the Gentiles - placing Israel on a shelf until the times of the Gentiles (the Tribulation).

The gospel is the "good news" of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ and is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that BELIEVES.. (Romans 1:16). To BELIEVE the gospel is to trust in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of our salvation.

Galatians 1:11 - But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man. 12 For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Yes,word for word it means good news. I don't agree with using the good news to lay aside everything else.

I believe that all of Matthew, Mark, and Luke are for the believer today. They are not written to those living under the law of Judaism. All three were written after the crucifixion and resurrection just like the Gospel of John was.

I will not relegate the Sermon on the Mount to some future millennium, but will live its ideals and teachings today in the twenty first century!

When will this actually happen? It sure hasn't happened yet.

"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell" (Matthew 10:28).

hint: it will be commonplace during the Millennium.

"Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel" (Psalms 2:6-9).
