This Thread is for posting Scriptures that touch your heart, or you believe touch the hearts of others, even the unsaved.

I know that we could say that all Scripture does this, but we all have certain ones we find more precious to us I believe.

Psalms 51:10 - Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

This is one I like, one of many, but one to start with.

This request by David is echoed in the New Testament in several places, and points to our "rebirth" in Christ.

Doesn't have to be a Scripture. There are special occasions/events that touch hearts as well. And songs n such.

After posting this, the beautiful Hymn "Near to the Heart of God" came to my mind. Remember it?

  1. There is a place of quiet rest,
    Near to the heart of God;
    A place where sin cannot molest,
    Near to the heart of God.
    • Refrain:
      O Jesus, blest Redeemer,
      Sent from the heart of God;
      Hold us, who wait before Thee,
      Near to the heart of God.
  2. There is a place of comfort sweet,
    Near to the heart of God;
    A place where we our Savior meet,
    Near to the heart of God.
  3. There is a place of full release,
    Near to the heart of God;
    A place where all is joy and peace,
    Near to the heart of God.

Maybe you have a special something you would like to share?

What a special joy is the birth of a child. Surely this occasion touches the hearts of so many.........

God Himself declares how special this occasion is......

Psalms 127:3) Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. 4) As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. 5) Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

Psalms 34:17-20 - [The righteous] cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

Psalms 147:3 - He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

PS. 19:14.
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD, my Strength, and my Redeemer.

and for me:

PHI. 4:8.
Finally, brethren,
whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

and as you say PR, there are so many, many, more that touch our hearts,
Praise God...

A kind word can touch so very many hearts! I know how it feels to be "lifted up" by an unexpected kind word from a family/church member. They (kind words) can also defuse tense situations, and take the air out of pending disputations.

Proverbs 15:1 - A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 - Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

Job 4:4 - Thy words have upholden him that was falling, and thou hast strengthened the feeble knees. (I really like this one)

Colossians 4:6 - Let your speech [be] alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Proverbs 15:23 - A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word [spoken] in due season, how good [is it]!

(This should be our prayer)
Psalms 19:14 - Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

The power of God is seen in his ability to destroy like one simply sweeps with a broom.....love it....

I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.

Matthew 11:28-30
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” ❤

Touching hearts in times of sickness and sorrow, and in times of spiritual assurance............

Jeremiah 17:14 - Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou [art] my praise.

1 Peter 2:24 - Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

How can ones heart not be touched when we realize all He suffered for us? How He loves us! He gives us healing:

James 5:14 - Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

James 5:15 - And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

James 5:16 - Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Psalms 147:3 - He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

What praises are due Him!

When they had all had enough to eat, He said to His disciples,
"Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted."
(John 6:12)

a bruised reed, He will not break

He shall lose none of those given to Him

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have:
for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Thanks Post...... I was thinking of that one because it reminded me that Christ Himself has compassion on us when we are in need. To think that He cares enough/loves us enough to feel sorrow for us, and to want to sate our physical and spiritual needs........

Matthew 15:32) Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.

I always smile when I remember that Christ fed the people physically and spiritually! He did this with the Apostles as well. Remember the Scripture where He was on the beach cooking for them when they came ashore........this was after His resurrection. I have heard people say that Christ is not concerned with our earthly needs/desires, but all I read in Scripture tells me this is not true. He loves us, He cares for us, and He will provide for us if we ask Him. Christ surely touches hearts in a way that no man ever can!

Jeremiah 24:6) For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up. 7) And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.

When Christ dwells in our hearts, we come to better know/understand the love of Christ I believe...........

Ephesians 3:14) For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15) Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16) That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17) That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18) May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19) And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Oh to be filled with the fulness of His love.......

God bless you all

I suppose the ultimate "touching hearts" example would be with the realization of the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit at the time of sanctification.

I mean, He doesn't just touch our hearts..........He dusts it off, tosses out all the old junk, gives it a good washing, AND MOVES IN!

:)

2 Corinthians 1:21) Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; 22) Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

1 John 1:7″… the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth
us from all sin.”

John 14:16) And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17) Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

God bless........
