May I suggest to you that the way to live a victorious Christian life is not to be always sin conscious but to be Christ conscious, we are new creations in Christ that is the focus of the born again believer that brings the ability to overcome.

There is a saying.... victory comes, in being absolutely and completely persuaded of who one is in Jesus. WE are partakers of His divine nature. 2 Peter 1

Repentance for every sin comes dangerously close to a works mind set and will pull your eyes back onto your self and not Jesus.

Sin confession it to agree with God, He is the one and only source of victory.
Lord, I thank you for leading me here, and allowing UnderGrace to post this
you understand my heart, thank you for giving me the intention to please you, but it's misguided through misunderstanding, thank you for opening my eyes to even the most subtle error of my ways, many we cease to be blind, Satan is far too crafty, we cannot do it without your help Lord, we need you Lord, we desperately need you

protect us from the traps that we may walk into, today, we ask you, to help us, lead us, and never leave us astray
amen

I don't want to hate
that is all
Of course, thank you so much for clarifying.:)

I know that when I focused on my sin all I did was sin more, I am so, so thankful to have come to better understanding of where to put my focus not on me, but on Him who dwells within me.:)

in the face of the public, we tend to put up a tough exterior, even though we are the exact opposite on the inside.

we need each other!

what is my identity in Christ?

Sorry....don't buy it....Paul preached to the known world, turned the world upside down and the gospel was spread by word of mouth, witnessing and the church letters were passed around between the churches.....the creeds were not written until some 200 to 500 years after the completion of the word of God.....
Amen decon

Hi decon, your time line is very accurate. The hand written Epistles began to circulate during the 1st century Church as early as 50A.D. The Greek word "Epistle", is derived from the word "pistol", a word we use to describe a gun that delivers "bullets." The Epistles were small books that were used to deliver "the Gospel message."

Endoscopy is attempting to rationalize the use of "a creed" by saying it took to long to hand write scripture and that people were illiterate at that time so the use of creeds came into being by necessity. Nonsense the Catholic Church kept the scriptures out of the hands of believers so that they could maintain control. The 1st Century Church had plenty of hand written scripture to accommodate all local Churches, just ask the Apostle Paul.

True story; the career dept. at our Church, (about 300 strong), hand wrote the entire Old and New Testament with "#2 lead pencils", all in about a 2 week period of time, during Christmas holiday. This was accomplished through the help and guidance of the "Holy Spirit", so that a young Christian boy who was "allergic" to every writing material, "ink or lead", so that he could have his own personal bible to read and grow as a young believer.

The 1st Century Church would have had little trouble accomplishing something similar. The fact remains that a creed that was produce by men, fails by comparison to a God breathed hand written Bible. I believe that "if one precious life" was lost do to someone believing in a "man made creed", rather than believing in the one person who can save, Jesus Christ, then a creed is very problematic.

HistoryPrincess have described about how people can have uncontrollably high sex drive, and that people will ultimate fail God and God knows it
https://christianchat.com/christian-singles-forum/can-no-longer-separate-sex-from-sin.177975/

if this strong sex drive as described here leads to sin, can this sin also be repented?

LET ME ANSWER THAT FOR YOU.

It is easy, to answer. Read these verses, and you should find the answer.

1 Corinthians 6:8-11 (HCSB)
8 Instead, you act unjustly and cheat—and ⌊you do⌋ this to believers!
9 Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be deceived: No sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, or anyone practicing homosexuality,
10 no thieves, greedy people, drunkards, verbally abusive people, or swindlers will inherit God’s kingdom.
11 And some of you used to be like this. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

See it, they REPENTED. If you are a true Christian, then all you have to do is TRUST HIM, ask HIM to give you the power to overcome Sin. Now you have WANT HIS HELP to overcome Sin.

When I was first saved, I had a bad cigarette habit. He kept putting it on my HEART that I NEED to quit smoking. You see, my favorite Aunt died of lung cancer at 34. I kept arguing with God, "Why should I quit, as long as I enjoy it." So one morning I got up and while still sitting on the Bed grabbed a cigarette and an my lighter and the first Puff TASTED HORRIBLE. Then GOD put this thought in my head, "WHAT'S YOUR EXCUSE NOW, DUMMY." That was my very last cigarette in 1978.

I do not Know how old you are, but hear is advise from Paul, when you are Marrying Age:

1 Corinthians 7:8-9 (NKJV)
8 But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they remain even as I am;
9 but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

I so agree....amazes me how people think we are all that and a bag of chips when it comes to being smart as compared to the ancients.....most Jews spoke Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic.....and the Romans were not stupid either......they built crap that lasts longer than what we build today, invented concrete that is better than what is used today etc...that is why N.T. was inspired and written in KOINE GREEK and the OLD had been translated in KOINE GREEK<----COMMON GREEK......so the people could UNDERSTAND IT.....it is retarded to believe that God needed some creed written by MEN when he had his COMPLETED word and used "LANGUAGES" to spread his word until the word of God was completed<--misidentified as some jibberish that is passed off today as "TONGUES" today.........

Agreed about the creeds, and yeah, I've seen a lot of things about speaking in tongues that is totally unbiblical and not of the Spirit of God.

Pretty sure Paul was giving people the example of how to recognize it and the order in which it should be done in Corinthians. So yeah, agreed most of what is seen today is made up gibberish not from God. But I'm still not just going to throw it all out of the Bible just because there are fakers out there. Unless someone can show me why it's not Biblically sound and I don't need any one to come at me with it ended because that which is perfect has come.

Because we all know that which is perfect has not come and we still see through a glass darkly, but then we shall know all things and be known even as we are known. And we know that ain't happened yet. Nobody here knows all things...so that which is perfect has not come.

And before anyone comes at me calling names like tongue talker or whatever, just want to let you know I have never spoken in tongues. Just because I have never experienced it doesn't mean I'm going to kick it out, though. It also doesn't mean I'm just going to accept the fake, either.

So yeah, a lot of made up gibberish going around out there...but according to the Bible there is a real thing. It is written in the word of God so we can't just take it all out just because we don't like it.
