And Captain Morgan was not a bloodthirsty pirate. If anything he was the coolest pirate ever.

He was a privateer (a sort of legal piracy, if that makes any sense), and he did not look like he did on the bottles of alcohol bearing his name, he actually kind of looked like a pretty boy. Not to mention he actually suid one guy for libel and slander. He was also friends with King Charles II and he had the most epic funeral ever.

And I have had a lot of fun, and a lot of misery with the rum that bears his name.

I was just wondering, cause you said a few million post ago, that no one has asked you out.
I also explained I tend to be shy and don't like interrupting conversations 'cause I don't want to be rude. Unfortunately, there are very few pauses.

Read this story: Morgan and his men had once captured the Spanish city of Portobelo and were threatening to burn it to the ground if not paid a ransom of 350,000 pieces of eight. The governor of Panama, who was instead raising a force to rescue Portobelo, had a reply sent that stated, "I take you to be a corsair and I reply that the vassals of the king of Spain do no not make treaties with inferior persons."

Morgan had another letter sent to the governor that stated, "Although your letter does not deserve a reply, since you call me a corsair, I write you these few lines to ask you to come quickly. We are waiting for you with great pleasure and we have powder and ball with which to receive you."

The governor's force of 800 men was soon after routed by Morgan & his men.

I'll tell you a conspiracy theory that has really bothered me.

It's the idea that the U.S. Government was behind the 9/11 attacks. All the people needed to pull that off, someone would have talked.

Yep, 'cause all middle-easterners are innocent victims of the real terrorists, us Americans.

However, 9/11 came close to being foiled. And had it happened, the last 17 years would've turned out quite differently.

Wow. Captain Morgan certainly tops President Trump on trolling powers, and he didn't even have Twitter.

To be honest, I find plenty of traits this guy had to be rather attractive: Ambitious, doesn't back down, someone who actually gets stuff done, displays kindness (providing financial compensation to any of his crew who lost a body part). Physical appearance of course should be secondary, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have an appearance that is quite nice.

Is he the guy you're hoping for?

Well, of course, this guy in particular is dead. And I know every man is flawed, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't have standards.
I'm sure there is a pirate out there, looking to get his hands on your booty.

Well, I wouldn't put it so bluntly. And real life pirates now are vicious (Captain Phillips comes to mind). Just someone who's a decent human being and treats me like a human being rather than just a lady.

I've also been fascinated by people who took huge secrets to the grave, and treasures, real or imagined, to have been lost throughout world history. These aren't the same thing as conspiracy theories but kinda makes you wonder what happened or where they ended up.

For example, Blackbeard was allowed to live if he told those who'd captured him where the treasure is, and he only said, "Only the Devil and I know where I stashed it." Or something like that.

I'm sure you wouldn't put it so bluntly. I would though.

Edward Teach is a thing where I grew up. He often sailed in Hampton roads, and after being killed, Lt. Manyard sailed back with his head, and supposedly, Blackbeards head was on display near Old Point Comfort in Hampton.

Is that so? Yep, his pirate career was short but certainly deadly.

I watched "The Adventures of Robin Hood" with Errol Flynn the whole way through for the first time the other night. This movie is 80 years old, and it may be a bit old school, but it is in a good way. I was like, "Wow, we just don't have movies like this. Ones that are just fun and don't take themselves too seriously." Not to mention the stunts pulled off in this movie are just incredible.

Errol Flynn of course was just born to play this role. He was quite the swordsman. And he had some of the best comeback lines ever.

Maid Marian: You speak treason.
Robin Hood: Fluently.

Speaking of Maid Marian, Olivia de Havilland is in fact still alive. I'm not joking. She's 102 years old. And I liked that she wasn't just the pretty girlfriend in this. In fact she masterminds the plan to save Robin Hood from the gallows.

Then of course, Sir Basil Rathbone (a.k.a. Sherlock Holmes) as Sir Guy of Gisborne. What more do I have to say? That part in the end when he and Robin Hood go at it was just a thrill.

And last but not least, Claude Rains as Prince John. And man does he yuck it up!

Oh and by the way, the horse that Maid Marian rides in this movie is Trigger. This was before he was bought by Roy Rogers and was named Golden Cloud. Rogers renamed him Trigger.
