Asserting VCO isn't Christian is worse than what he stated about Mormons. Calling one a moron isn't exactly unbiblical.

However, telling another they are absent of the graces of salvation is diabolical on your account. No need to throw "love" around when you haven't exemplified it yourself.
Telling people what God's Word says, all of it, is the definition of God's Love. Telling people they are immortal when they are mere humans is an evil that has permeated the minds of religious men since the serpent convinced Eve "she shall surely not die".

Telling people "Peace, Peace, when there is no peace is the worse kind of Evil. It makes people less cautious, and comfortable in this temporary dwelling. We should reject man made religions like yours and follow the Word of God. And He says we are in a fight. And to overcome in this battle that you preach is over, we are to "put on" the Whole Armor of God.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

God doesn't have all these warnings and instructions because we are already immortal. He has them there because we are not.

But as He said, most really just don't believe.

You are not a Christian either if you think it is alright to go around calling people names.
Ignorance of the Bible on display here. I wont tell you where, but I will tell you that both in the NT and OT, namecalling is done by the apostles, prophets and Jesus Himself. brood of vipers is not exactly a compliment?

Think about that next time you type that.

We are to do good things for one another, not only to show obedience to God, but also to show His love through us for others. We are NOT to do them to gain, maintain, keep salvation or earn our way into heaven.
In post 74,576 (huh?) you stated that we WILL be judged by our works, as Jesus Himself stated.

So how can you say we are NOT to do them to maintain or keep our salvation if Jesus said we will be judged by them?

Are we judged by them or not?

I repeat John 5:28-29

I'd like to add that Paul, James, Peter - all the writers, also did not give us warnings for no reason.
Some will say it's for rewards....it's obvious from scripture that it's for something much more important than a reward...it's for our very salvation.

If I understand the context here correctly, someone called mormons morons, right? Well lets just cut the politlcally correct junk and think about it.
Is the mormon doctrine, DUMB? Yes. You have to be fairly dumb to get deceived into mormonism. Some other false religions have something to "woo" people in with, either experiences, emotionalism or intellectual or philosophical ideas. But mormonism has none of these, it has nothing to offer. Its just a stupid religion, no nice way to put it.
You know the story right? Guy finds plates of gold, DOESNT SHOW THESE TO ANYONE, and translates them to the book of Mormon. Now at this point any rational individual would go "Hey, why didnt he show those to anyone?". No kind of spiritual supernatural discernment is needed here, this is just called 101 street smarts.
So if you fail the stooge-test and STILL believe that he had those golden plates which he never showed to anyone, well thats on you.

Mind you this is just the beginning of the stupidity of the mormon religion, BIble clearly teaches one God, they have millions of gods, and you can become one. It just contradicts the Bible on the milk basic truth level at every turn.
I come from the mean streets, and I had enough street smarts to notice the mormons were a cult even before I found out what the truth was, even as an atheist I knew OK these guys are fakes.
One thing you got to look out for is that FAKE FRIENDLINESS that mormons (and JWs) come with. It is so disgusting, yet many people have fallen for it.

Let me clarify for you: God will judge us on how FAITHFUl we were in doing works, in other words, whether we did them to be obedient OR whether we did them to earn our way into heaven.

Those who cannot physically do good works will not be judged on that basis. Those who cannot comprehend anything past their mental capacities.

So if you send money to charity, mow a lawn, shovel a yard, feed the hungry.. These are just examples but they will NOT keep your salvation for you. Your FAITH, BELIEF and God's GRACE are what save us. NOT doing good works..

I don't know as much about mormonism as you do. I just know it's not right.

I was replying to your post that said that in the OT and NT name calling was used.
My point was that because it might have been done in the bible, it does not give US the right to do the same.

Jesus said to treat everyone the way we would like to be treated.

Re JWs: although I disagree with them on everything and I'd go so far as to say they're not even Christian (I do know more about them)...I don't think their friendliness is fake.

Of course, if you want to take into consideration that they'd shun their very family member if he should leave the JWs...well, then I'd have to agree with you.

I see you are agreeing with studyman . well, lets' see. he thinks that the Pharisees were devil worshipers who had thrown out the Torah, and used their own law. he also does not recognize Jesus as being fully human and fully Devine.

do you agree or disagree with these 2 things.

NOWHERE in the bible does God say that good works will save us and keep our salvation. It does say that those who love Him will obey Him (do good works).. The bible also says we are saved FOR good works, not BY good works..

I never said we are saved by works.
Apparently I'm saying something that is not understood. I'm sorry I can't say it any better.

As I asked another poster, could you please post some scripture that clearly states that we are not required to do any works AFTER being saved?
Christians will have plenty of good works, "after they are saved" but they are works that God prepared for "them to do." To answer your question, there is no verse in the bible that say's, "we are not required to do any works AFTER being saved?" Christians are saved "unto good works not by them", neither do good works keep anyone saved.

You should know the answer to your question since you are knowledgeable of the bible.

Ephesians2:8-10
8)
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9) not by works, so that no one can boast. 10) For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

I just got here. I don't know what anybody thinks except for what they post.
So far, I agree with Studyman...I'm agreeing to what he's posting.

When he posts something I don't agree with, I won't hesitate to say so.

I'll only say that I'm a traditional Christian ---whatever that means.
I believe in the Trinity or Godhead.
I believe Jesus was 100% human and 100% God.
I believe He died for our atonement - whichever one anyone cares to believe in is fine with me.
I believe He rose from the dead and will come back one day.
I believe in heaven and hell (whatever hell is) and that we must trust and obey God as best we can to be with Him for eternity.

You’re not a Christian are you. It’s not a question.
I apologize that you got OFFENDED. I meant it as a Joke, a play on the word Mormon. I know it was in poor taste, I apologize. I did it very late at Night, when I was extremely tired, and I am 69 years old, so I made mistake. And anyone else that I offended, I am sorry.

Here is why we are NOT to invited Mormons Into you house:

2 John 1:7-11 (HCSB)
7 Many deceivers have gone out into the world; they do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.
8 Watch yourselves so you don’t lose what we have worked for, but that you may receive a full reward.
9 Anyone who does not remain in Christ’s teaching but goes beyond it, does not have God. The one who remains in that teaching, this one has both the Father and the Son.
10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your home, and don’t say, “Welcome,” to him;
11 for the one who says, “Welcome,” to him shares in his evil works.

I confronted them, I told them about those verse, I told them they do believe in many gods, and I believe in ONE the Holy Trinity, I told they they added to the BIBLE, and I told them why I believe the book of Mormon was written by Joseph Smith. You see I have that documented in my files. That his Mother, told that Joseph USED to tell stories when he was young, about unheard of Native Americans, in such detail that it was almost as if he had lived with them, and it entertained the whole family. AND THE SAME KIND OF STORIES SHOWED UP IN THE BOOK OF MORMON.

No man keeps their salvation, your teaching is in error.

Neither of the texts teach a loss of personal salvation. In Peter falling from steadfastness is falling from steadfastness, not from being saved. You're reading things into the texts that are not there.

spot on....

just read the whole letter to Titus. Paul , in my opinion , lays out grace and works and salvation in a great way.
Especially this part. I have not REJECTED a DIVISIVE MAN, as soon as I should. Forgive me LORD, and I will do your will.

Titus 3:5-11 (NKJV)
5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.
9 But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless.
10 Reject a divisive man after the first and second admonition,
11 knowing that such a person is warped and sinning, being self-condemned.

I explained this to you before also. No fake branch is on the true vine. Do you think those who deny Jesus are going to be IN HIM? No. only those IN HIM are good branches and they are the ones referred to in John 15:2. If they do not produce fruit, they will be cut off. Same as in this scripture:
Romans 11:22 King James Version (KJV)
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

The good (those that believe and are saved), will receive goodness from God, only if we continue in his goodness, otherwise we also will be cut off. You got to get a clue sooner or later.

I have to put you on the IGNORE list, you Divisiveness, has become a problem, that I need to IGNORE your posts.
