The Greek language doesn't even have a word for our English word" believe " . The Greek only allows Faithing forward towards God ( pisteuo " , or faithing away from God ( apisteuo ) . No such thing as a middle or neutral ground .

And there's also the problem that when pisteuo was mistranslated with the words believe , believer , and believing into the English language , it's also mistranslated back out of the English and stamped onto the Greek , even though they don't have the word in their language .

secondly, since the desire is God given, it's best to use that gift toward Godly direction, which takes recognition on our part, or if we are sufficiently consumed by that God given desire, we can desire God.

and what we do with that desire can require guidance and wisdom,

assuming that we are doing the right things with that desire, we can recognize that we are sinner, "call upon the name of the Lord and you shall be saved", believe with all your being, even for a second at least, take that opportunity, call upon the Lord with sincere believe, and God will save you based on the God given gift of faith and grace.
