What does this "all" refer to?

2 Pet 3v9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Great point bro!

Its ridicilous how calvinists INSIST the all in 2 peter 3:9 doesnt mean ALL. But at the same time in Romans 3:10 it has to be ALL, EVERYONE is totally depraved and nobody can even seek God.
Oh yeah, about that what about this verse?:

Act 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
Act 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

This is the opposite of what calvinism teaches, AGAIN. They teach that if God "chooses us" based on something we do, thats God being a respector of persons, but Peter here says ABSOLUTELY the opposite, that if God just randomly picks some for no reason, THEN He would be a respector of persons.
Instead, those in every nation that fear God and work righteousness is accepted by God!

Calvinism just cant deal with the scriptures.

They sit around in a circle all day arguing about which one of them is more elected than the other. They don't have time to go knocking on doors with that important discussion going on constantly.

No? They don't! They go around all day "fighting the GOOD fight", and "Picking UP their cross DAILY!" Trying as they might, in the "WEANING process!" FOR THE "SAKE" OF THE MILKY'S! BECAUSE, they have the LOVE OF CHRIST IN them! Not WILLING the "WOE" to befall them, "who give suck!"

There MUST be a certain "sadistic" characteristic, to these ones! As they seem to just LOVE "banging their heads against the wall", in explaining that the Father and God of Jesus Christ WILL NOT be "conformed" WITHIN that "pea brain BOX" that "milky's" call their minds!

Neither can Calvinists. Did you notice how they steer people away from the Bible and insist they read the Institutes, and the council of Dork?

Yea, the Mormons and Catholics weren't too keen on me reading my Bible either. How else can they teach me what they want me to believe?

You know one thing I learned is that if you're in a belief system that requires you to have someone reinterpret TONS of scripture for you, most likely you got the wrong belief system.

Calvinism has so many verses where they got entire WEBSITES defending it, and they are twisting the verses to fit their theology. As I quoted before in 1 Timothy 2:4. They have entire articles "EXEGETING" (a.k.a twisting) this text to suit their doctrine.
You give a regular plumber the bible and tell him to start reading and I bet my bottom dollar that he will NOT come out a calvinist, you can believe that!
But the inventor (Or the one who planted the seed for) calvinism AUGUSTINE sure did come up with it. He was an educated philosopher and a gnostic prior to conversion, so he had the background to pull that off.
He was also throwing the OT to the bin basically, spiritualizing everything, making it of NONE EFFECT. It was all just allegories and stuff. No more Israel, God's done with Israel, replacement theology, baptism after birth to cleanse from original sin.
Lots of whack doctrines that infected the western roman empire, and then the catholic church and BY EXTENTION the reformers.

Creeds and confessions are good and needed, but neither supplant the scriptures, my friend.

1 Timothy 2
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

I guess all kings are saved. I guess all those who are in authority are saved.

Show me one Calvinist on here, or on another site, that tries to steer people away from reading their bible, my friend. Just one.

Well, John 10:11 and 10:15 has Jesús saying He gives His life for the sheep. Ephesians 5:25 says He gave His life for the church.

He'd be posting the same things we are posting: The Doctrines of Grace.
Like your buddy James White, huh? having "dialogue" and sucking up to imams he was "dialoguing" with? Yeah I remember in the Bible that one time where Elijah did that to the prophets of Ba'al.... oh wait its not there. Thats right.
It was disgusting seeing him show that fake (or real) respect to those guys. "Oh how I love Dr whatever his name was. He is consistent. How can christians and muslims function in a society better together, we need to learn how to live together" and bla bla bla.

I should pull up the clip just so I wont be accused of misrepresentation or anything like that- wouldnt want that now would we?

"The reason I sought out Dr Yasir (or whatever) despite the fact that I have learned so much from him, and he has been a PRIMARY INFLUENCE in my learning of islam. I AM A STUDENT OF ISLAM. I specifically searched him out is because I sense a KINDRED SPIRIT in him on the other side"

^Thats what James White said
A KINDRED SPIRIT in an idolater? Yeah right. I can see Elijah doing that.

Here is the video so im not accused of MISREPRESENTATION:

Yes. Absolutely, my friend. I said they exercise faith and repentance. Sorry I did not make that clearerer.
So exactly what does the person do?

Is all they have to do is hear the gospel?

James White is a fake. It was disgusting seeing him show that fake (or real) respect to those guys. "Oh how I love Dr whatever his name was. He is consistent. How can christians and muslims function in a society better together, we need to learn how to live together" and bla bla bla.
In that dialogue, Dr. Qudhi asked Dr. White to explain to them the Trinity. That was his moment to preach the gospel to them in a peaceful manner.

You are, again!!, bearing a false witness.

My sendings you to read the canons of Dort were not to steer any people away from the Bible, but because you misrepresent and do not understand calvinism. The less you understand it, the more you hate it, though.

The gospel is necessary to salvation, my friend. 1 Corinthians 1:21, Romans 10:8-17, Ephesians 1:13 show it’s necessity. Without the gospel, none can, or will, be saved.

Well, John 10:11 and 10:15 has Jesús saying He gives His life for the sheep. Ephesians 5:25 says He gave His life for the church.
Yep, and when you give your life to Jesus through the gospel, you are placed in His body which is the church.

My friend, you have been following Janet Mefferd and Brannon Howse? What Dr. White meant by that statement was Dr. Qadhi wanted his fellow Muslims to be consistent in the beliefs in Islam, like he(Dr. White) wants his fellow Christians to be consistent in their beliefs of the Bible.

Also, Muslims know more about the Bible than most Christians know about Islam. He studied Islam to better grasp it, so he could fully debate them. He has debated them many times, even in Mosques.

But most Christians will give them a tract and that’s it.

Do you think that Christians should not show respect to oponents and should just shout at them, shake their fists etc?

No, even the first Church debated with its oponents in a respectful manner.

"Show proper respect to everyone"

In essence, I agree with this, my friend. The end result is the same, but how we arrive at it, differs.

But does the person need to do anything to be saved?
