17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Did the Christ follow His own Doctrines, or the Doctrines of His Father? Of course you won't answer.
how about this question :

is Christ good?
is He ever not good?

:)

I believe these word's and ALL the Words of the Christ.
So TT, I appreciate your offer to "Save me", but I'm already "being saved". So I would love for you to discuss the questions I posed and maybe we can learn something together.
So tell everyone here what exactly do you think of the Apostle Paul's words during his "Sermon on Mar's Hill", at the Areopagus; Specifically, (verse 30), "He commands all people everywhere to repent." I believe the command for all people to "repent" means to "turn back to God."

Acts17:29-31
“Therefore since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver
or stone an image made by human design and skill. 30) In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now
He commands all people everywhere to repent. 31) For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”

by doing enough good works for long enough, you said. you hope, you said.

how would you like a sure hope?

I know One, dude, and we would all like to introduce you to Him
No thanks Post.

I'll continue to follow the Jesus of the Bible and "Strive to enter the Narrow Path" that He created for me. Besides, as it is written, "Hope that is seen, is not Hope. I'll take my chances with the invisible God, you can have the Long haired men's hair shampoo model.

He says what He says. If you don't understand Him, that isn't my fault.

13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

I appreciate your sudden desire to have a discussion. But frankly, I have already asked you several questions. It seems prudent and polite that you answer my questions first before you change the subject. Maybe in that discussion your answer will come.

the man who called Him good teacher did not believe He is Christ. so his only hope was Moses. previously discussed.

Christ is God so there is no distinction. as a human form He gave us the example to live alway at rest, doing only the will of God. always working. also previously discussed.

Isaiah 53:2 proves both that He is YHWH and that He is the root, not a wild ingrafted branch.

and now that several of your deflections are taken care of would you like a sure hope? would you like to hear the gospel? ♥

You still didn't answer, just like I said you wouldn't. How did I know this?

The bible ALWAYS warns us not to be DECEIVED. Don’t let the evil one snatch it away so as to fall away when trials, temptations, troubles, worries of this world and the deceitfulness of wealth comes.

LET US HUMBLY ACCEPT THE WORD THAT IS PLANTED IN US, WHICH CAN SAVE US

...Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. 1 timothy 4:16

...test the Spirit if they are from God. 1 john 4:1

... At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. Matthew 24:10-13

If you want people to listen to you, YOU must learn how to listen and HUMBLY ACCEPT THE WORD THAT IS PLANTED IN YOU.

Listening and Doing
My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and HUMBLY accept the word planted in you, which can save you. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does. If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:19-27

Here's what you said to another poster that puzzled me:

"Once again all you prove is your ignorance, or refusal to listen to a word anyone says.

Thats why I continue to ask people why they bother to respond to you. It is worthless talking to you.

If you do not listen to people. How do you expect to have a conversation with them? You can;t/ all you do is prove you have no desire to discuss anything, all you want to do is judge and prove yourself right at all costs."

He didn't follow the Mainstream Religion of His Time. Even as a child He followed the instructions of God, the Holy Root. Do you deny this?
I deny Jesus was grafted into the root.
He is the root, the vine that we are grafted into.
One God, 3 person's?

The Father, The Son and and the Holy Spirit.

Do you deny this?
Does your mainstream preaching deny this?

As you say below?

He died and was resurrected by God the Father. God's can't die.
Only one God, not plural?

So how many Gods do you believe in?

Or did your Jesus not come in the Flesh?

How do you expect me to read this?
I found it to be VERY CONFUSING Myself. It looked like a Pharisee's attempt to dance around the Scriptures, and lowering it to something that he could keep, patting himself on the back, and saying Look what I did for the Lord. It reminded me of THESE so-called Christians:

Matthew 7:20-23 (HCSB)
20 So you’ll recognize them by their fruit.
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but ⌊only⌋ the one who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22 On that day many will say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, drive out demons in Your name, and do many miracles in Your name?’
23 Then I will announce to them,I never knew you! Depart from Me, you lawbreakers!’

Just remember JESUS said, BY THEIR FRUIT, YOU WILL KNOW THEM.

The Rocky Soil and the Thorny Soil, never produced Fruit. So they are counterfeit Christians.

Here is the FRUIT of a REAL CHRISTIAN:

Galatians 5:22-23 (NASB)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Those are LIFESTYLE Characteristics. Notice that the PRIMARY FRUIT IS LOVE. Jews always when they make a list of things, put the Primary FIRST, and the Least Important LAST.

SO LOVE IS THE PRIMARY FRUIT OF A REAL CHRISTIAN:

1 John 3:14 (HCSB)
14 We know that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers.
The one who does not love remains in death.

You SAID:

Justification gives life to a once DEAD in sin person (Romans 5:18).

Now you should be able to see my POINT. The Rocky Soil and the Thorny Soil, Never produced FRUIT, and they remain in DEATH, therefore they were NEVER BORN AGAIN.

Only the GOOD SOIL produces a harvest, who are those who were Born Again.

This is not the same story, but Have you ever seen how Closely TARES (wheat-looking WEEDS) resemble WHEAT?

OH MY, VERY SIMILAR INDEED.

We had a guy here about 6 months ago, full of anger, calling us all hypocrites, and constantly trying to stir up dissension among the Brethren. I watched him closely for about two months, so I finally asked him, "Where is your LOVE, we do not see it." Shortly there after, he left our the Thread. I really believe, even with a young Christian, there SHOULD be a small amount of LOVE present, because GOD's LOVE was Poured into the Hearts of Born Again Christians, Rom. 5:5, but NOTHING with that guy.

Would you agree that love is to walk in obedience to His commandments? (2 john 1:6, 1 john 5:3, john 14:15,21-24, Romans 13:10 and more)

God showed His love for us by sending His only begotten Son as an atoning sacrifice for our SINS. (1john 4:8-21, john 3:16) And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.

You believe that we are SAVED through FAITH in the finished work of Christ on the cross.

Do you also believe that "salvation by God's grace and mercy through FAITH" is God's work of love for us?

We love God because He first loved us, and you believe that obedience is part of love but not a part of salvation.

How can anyone love God without obeying His command to love his brothers and neighbors?

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 1 John 3:16

“PAY IT FORWARD"

It is clear that when Jesus laid down His life for us, we were saved(justification) and we ought to lay down our life for our brothers(obedience).

We cannot separate obedience from salvation for "THEY ARE WHAT LOVE IS."

Salvation produces obedience. Obedience does not help produce salvation.

So. Yes,You can seperate salvation from obedience, refusing to seperate them forces salvation to be dependent on obedience. Thats not the case, it is the other way around.

That is where legalists fail.

I can say this is true on a personal level- I was a " believer " in my teens and early 20's. I believed in God, Jesus, the virgin birth, the Resurrection , the 2nd coming, the Judgement , all the " basics ".

but, until I came to Christ at age 26, though I believed in these things, I did not care. they were not personal . I lived however I wanted,

so, see, just believing in Jesus is worthless unless you fully, 100% trust Him for salvation, thus making Him YOUR Lord and Savior. that is the life changer.
the legalists still trust in themselves. being a outright, not caring sinner, trusting in your works and command keeping , same result. exclusion from the Kingdom.

Jesus is the only way.

Hi brother Bill, you are 100 percent correct, Jesus is the root.

Romans15:11,12
11)
And again,
“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles;
let all the peoples extol him.”
12) And again, Isaiah says,
The Root of Jesse" will spring up,
one who will arise to rule over the nations;
in him the Gentiles will hope
.”
