I have a feeling I know why.

To the original poster, read 1 John. A couple posts on this thread are misguided, a big part of faith is trusting God, not men, so get in the bible and seek God's counsil.
Amen. dilo beat me to the post.
He is right Test yourself. read 1John chapter 1 to test yourself. if you fail the test it is something to worry about. after i listened to the sermon by Paul Washer on it. I saw my results. i failed miserably I cried out to God to change me and I feel He has started to change me.

You are saved when you are doing God's will. God is a very demanding God, but he never puts more on us than we can handle. Many in the world today don't no where to turn to good christians morals because a lot of christians can say one thing but do another. For instance how many do you know practice sex outside of marriage? Or how many use drugs or drink to the point of drunkenness? All of these things are detestable to God. Also you need to keep in mind of 2 Peter 1:20,21" For you know this first that no prophecy of Scripture springs from any private interpretation; For prophecy was at no time brought by man's will but men spoke from God as they were borne with holy spirit." For instance the bible talks about only 144,000 going to heaven (Rev. 7:4; Rev. 14:1) Yet people think that Moses went to heaven. Actually Jesus told us that " no man has descended into heaven, but he that descended from heaven, the Son of man"(John 3:13) that clearly states that before Jesus no man (no matter how good he was)didn't descend to heaven. Why you ask? Because Jesus had not come yet to take away their sins. The same goes with Christian holidays. Did you know that Christmas and Easter are based in Pagan worship? This started because a certain group of christians wanted to convert people so badly that they were willing to compromise God's organization. If you look up the history of Christmas and Easter you'd be surprised.

If Paul was saved and the apostles claimed to be saved, then how come we can't do the things which the apostles could do??
We cannot do the exact things that the apostles do because we no longer are required to go to those extremes. We have the holy spirit, which is God literally. Not just a thing inside you, it is Jesus Christ within you. If you can plant the seed and be the bridge between people and their saviour then you are just like the apostles :) focus on what is asked of us today-Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit- Matt 28:19

We can, and will have to go to these extremes I feel, further towards the end times. Things will get harder, but God will equip those who thirst.....I mean healings still occur, and if God willed it, then even just by someones shadow! Our God is the same all powerful God of Acts, and the rest of the Bible. Exciting :)

I think many Christians experience this doubt sometimes. It is a trick of the devil to make us more susceptible to straying from God's path. But here is what we know. God is forgiving. God doesn't lie. There is no sin that is beyond God's forgiveness. To feel saved, we must first believe it in our heads. I would suggest that you study the scriptures relating to forgiveness (starting with John 3:16; how awesome is that?!) then constantly ask God to transfer what you know in your head to what you feel in your heart, so that you can fully experience His love through Jesus Christ, your Lord and Savior.

I think we all have thoughts of doubt at times. That just makes us human. But if you believe in Jesus Christ with your HEART and have a relationship with him then you are saved. And you live your life to serve HIM. WE all have times where we have questions or have questioned things. Just pray!!!!

This is true. Although only he knows in my opinion. I havent spent too much time in revelation but im confident things will go according to his plan and i no longer have the fear of death or being tortured for what i believe thanks to the Holy Spirit and the book of Ecclisiastes :)

If you believe in Jesus Christ as the payment for sin, specifically, your own sin. That God sent Him to be that payment, and that He could only have been God's Son (different than we, of course), you have been moved into God's family.

If Bill Gates adopted you as his heir, and you later doubted if he had actually done it, what would make it true? Your ability to believe he did it or the FACT that he legally made the adoption?

The Law says you are Bill Gate's son, not your feelings in that case, right?

So, The Law of God says if you have trusted Christ as above, the legal adoption is complete... CASE CLOSED.

Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

It's as simple as that.
kinda, if you belive Jesus is raised, and confess he is lord, you will be saved, confess being the word I want to talk about, if we had a king, how could you confess him your king if you didn't obey him? If you say he is king, but disobey him, how is he your king? He isn't. Same goes here, if you confess Jesus is lord, but don't obey him, you haven't really confessed him to be lord, you shall know you are saved if you obey him, which means loving your neighbor as yourself, and loving god more. It also means obeying him is his commands he gives you personally, if he is your lord and you feel him calling you to be a missionary in Rwanda, you must obey, or he isn't your lord.
