The mouth tells the heart!!
Jesus knew this very well. His ministry was in the hearts of men. Now, Satan seeks the soul of a man, by enticing him the follow his flesh, or even his heart, which is continually evil.
But Jesus shows the man who continually evil his heart is, and then teaches him how his heart can became that way, and then leads them out of the captivity of his own heart.
Israel was in captivity to their own heart. And in the hearts of Israel were all the things forbidden, which were abominations to them. Which defiled the land.
Now, Jesus was opposed to the ways of Satan, and he exposed his ways, and revealed his own ways. The ways of Satan are bondage, but the way of Jesus Christ is eternal life, and freedom!!
Now, the Word of God is like a sword that cuts to the heart. But a heart of stone will reject it every time. He must take that heart of stone and make it a heart of flesh, so it can be penetrated. I was a slave to my own heart, which was continually evil, and out of the abominations of my heart, my mouth spoke. But I was not ashamed of my abominations. I took pride in my abominations, and enticed people to sin, as I was a very confident sinner.
But Jesus took that heart of stone and made it a heart of flesh, and I was cut and convicted. CONVICTED!! But then the Lord proved that he had given me a heart of flesh when, out of my heart came the words, ''LORD, HAVE MERCY ON ME, A SINNER!!!''
What is my testimony now? That of my own work? Or that of the work of Christ in me? If it is of Christ, then I am approved, but if of myself, I am still in my sin.
The mouth tells the heart. What is in your heart?
May Jesus bless you.
