do you really think that Jesus would say love others as yourself and even love your enemies in some scriptures and then turn around and say hate your mother, father, husbands, wives etc. and mean that literally????
Why, yes I do.
But until the Spirit of truth
made it known to me I was like you and had my doubts.

When you love your enemy or your neighbor
you can let them go to forsake all and pick up your cross and follow Jesus.

But when you love your life or your mother, father, husbands, wives, children
you will not let them go you will hold on to them and will not forsake all.
Jesus knew to be with God on the new earth you had to forsake
it all in this world or you would not make it.

Therefore He commanded them who loved Him

If any man come to me,
and hate not his father,
and mother,
and wife,
and children,
and brethren,
and sisters,
yea, and his own life also,
he cannot be my disciple.

I'm still pretty sure that means not to love them more than God. Put God first not actually hate your family.

But with your conclusion on the meaning to be literally hate them ...What would you do with this scripture?

Ephesians 5:25-27 King James Version (KJV)

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

You have 2 people.

One is OBEYING the commandments of Jesus Christ.

One is DISOBEYING the commandments of Jesus Christ.

Which one is Jesus going to say depart from me,
ye that work iniquity?

A. The One who is OBEYING the commandments of Jesus Christ.

B. The One who is DISOBEYING the commandments of Jesus Christ.
The one who JESUS never KNEW because they NEVER trusted him by FAITH.

I definitely agree that all who are His should Love like Yeshua. Unfortunately, few of us do and none of us do all the time. Thanks be to Yehwah, we have the agape love dwelling within to help our own love towards others grow.

I pay whoever wrote Ephesians no mind.
In fact I have never read it.
I have the Spirit of truth as my teacher
I need not anything else.
I am not here to convince you
so do not expect me to try to change your heart.

And I will not hold it against you are give it a thought
if you reject that to which I have said to you.

And I will not call you any names if you do not receive me.

If I need to know anything
Jesus always tells me.

And if I have any questions I just ask the Lord.
And wait for His answer.

then I did not need to know it to do His will.

There are 24 Hours
in every day day.

How much of that time
every day of your life
do you give to God?

If God gave you exactly
the same amount of time
to you that you gave to him
would that be alright with you?

If you say NO
Then you are giving to God less
than He deserves from you.

Ask yourself
what exactly does God
deserve from you?

Do you give more
of your time to anything else
other than you give to God?

If you say YES
Is that the way to love God?
What exactly does God deserve from you?

DOES HE NOT DESERVE YOUR LOVE?

Do you give GOD your left overs?
Ask yourself?

WHAT DOES GOD DESERVE FROM ME?

Make a list of all the things you do everyday
then make a list of what you do
that blesses God everyday.

Then make a list
of what God does to bless you
every day.

COMPARE THEM

Then tell me from your heart
that you put God first over your life and family.

God is love. We are to accept each other, not judge, for it is the Lord's place to judge people. Love and acceptance go hand in hand.

In fact even secular people have learned that acceptance is the key to living well. It goes for accepting people so we can love them and accepting our place in life. You have to accept where you are before you can get to a better place if you are in an uncomfortable spot.

People get so caught up in judging that we can't discuss scripture with each other without someone judging the person who posts instead of the scripture posted and that isn't right. We can judge what is done but not the person doing it.

I think spending time in His word blesses Him. I think He derives pleasure in us seeking a matter. It is His Glory to hide a matter.
It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.
Proverbs 25:2 NASB
https://bible.com/bible/100/pro.25.2.NASB

He tells us to study to be approved. There is verse after verse about the importance of the scriptures. I think that if someone says they love time with God but only offer their own understanding, their own experiences and their own input in a relationship, it, to me, is a one sided relationship. I don't worship the bible, I worship the One I see alive and well within His Word.

I respect you knowing He put in you a wise and intuitive spirit. But I appreciate having a resource that I can turn to in times of uncertainty or struggle. I am able to find communion and direction. He is so much more than the bible, I agree with you. But if You have never read the word, do you know what it is or in who you are believing? My Jesus, Yeshua, wants me in the word. It is His gift that keeps on giving, and He lovingly has given it to us. It is given for instruction and reproof.

Your words were found and I ate them, And Your words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; For I have been called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.
Jeremiah 15:16

Praying and reading the bible everyday, it is the best choice I can make for me and my loves. I am so grateful.

It is a good thing for you that you do not have to love me.
You would be a failure in the eyes of God.

John
Chapter 16:13

Howbeit when he
the Spirit of truth
is come
he will guide you into all truth
for he shall not speak of himself
but whatsoever he shall hear
that shall he speak
and he will show you things to come.

1 John
Chapter 2:27

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you
and ye need not that any man teach you
but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things
and is truth
and is no lie
and even as it hath taught you
ye shall abide in him.

If you have
the indwelling of the Holy Ghost
then why do you have to
study God's word to know it?

I would have to disagree with you.

The best choice if you had one
would be to love God with all your heart
your mind and soul
everyday.

I am sure God would put your love
for Him over everything else.

But you do as you see fit.
