How can he be the least of the problems when he has been misleading hundreds of thousands of gullible people over a long period of time? Perhaps millions, while he becomes a millionaire several times over.

Making merchandise of the Gospel is a mark of false teachers.
The thing that qualifies as a " false teaching " is anyone promoting an inaccurate understanding of Faith and how Faith is applied . Benny hinn , 99.9 % of the church world , and probably you also promote that exact same false teaching . So you do the math .

So you believe you belong to the 0.1% of Christians who know the true meaning of faith?

Can you see how ABSURD your allegation is? Making Pisteuo your username does not change that.

Also, this is simply a deflection from the serious issue of the proliferation of false teachers today. And if you persist in this fantasy, you may fall into that group yourself.

So you really think Benny Hinn is a true teacher? Check him out carefully if you do.

I believe Bonnke would fall into the same category. Bogus miracles do not glorify God.

I am trying to personally refrain from slamming any telepreacher(s) we see on the tv. But if I was going to get involved in this conversation, it would not be that someone claimed Christ will appear here/there/wherever, it would not be that someone uses props to make others believe they actually are healing people through God, and it would not be towards the lavish lifestyles they live...it would be about the teaching of prosperity.

Obviously, we know our treasures are in heaven. And we know that here on earth we are to basically be like the gypsy (not in faith but how they move around a lot) in that no place is home here on earth because heaven is our home. And that NOWHERE within the New Testament do we see anyone profiting and living large...NO NO NO...we see suffering, torture, falsely accused, jailed, and the people of God being done horribly wrong by unbelievers,

If there ever was a more false doctrine, other than promoting self as Christ or uplifting the Adversary, PROSPERITY teaching is the biggest LIE of them all!!

In my opinion, anyone teaching the rags to riches gospel, has purposely twisted scripture and is someone a true follower of God should both avoid and be aware of!!

There is a common thread , " the false teaching " woven throughout all doctrine today . That thread , is promoting that Faith and faithing ( pistis and pisteuo ) ,is " believing in what God did and said " , " then accepting Christ " , resulting in the emediate filling of the Spirit of Christ .

This is a completely false understanding of the Salvation process , created by the English language not having a verb form of Faith ( pisteuo ) like the Greek does . When the translators chose the words believe , believer , and believing to communicate how Faith is fulfilled , it turned the entire Salvation journey backwards . " Perverted " !

Really? Then why don't you explain the meaning of John 3:15,16,18,36 in which verses we find the word "belleveth" (KJV) which means "believes"? It looks to me like you are the one concocting your own doctrine.

News flash , the words believe , believer , and believing are used to translate the Greek word pisteuo 248 times in the NT . And everyone of them is a mistranslation . The Greek does even have those words in its language . The Greek doesn't acknowledge a state of being where one is only " believing " . They only acknowledge faithing towards God ( pisteuo ) , or faithing away from God ( apisteuo ) .

All the bible translators we have dont know anything. But luckily we have Pisteuo set us straight. I rather take what an anonymous individual has to say on an internet forum than well learned scholars whose names we know.

So now you are presenting the preposterous notion that Christ and the apostles INVENTED a Greek word where none existed! That is simply ABSURD and here's the proof with reference to John 3:16:

Thayer's Greek Lexicon
STRONGS NT 4100: πιστεύω (pisteuó)

πιστεύω; imperfect ἐπίστευον; future πιστεύσω; 1 aorist ἐπίστευσα; perfect πεπίστευκα; pluperfect (without augment, cf. Winers Grammar, § 12, 9; (Buttmann, 33 (29))) πεπιστεύκειν (Acts 14:23); passive perfect πεπίστευμαι; 1 aorist ἐπιστεύθην; (πιστός); the Sept. for הֶאֱמִין; in classical Greek from Aeschyl, Sophocles, Euripides, Thucydides down; to believe, i.e.

1. intransitive, to think to be true; to be persuaded of; to credit, place confidence in;

... b. specifically, in a moral and religious reference,πιστεύειν is used in the N. T. of "the conviction and trust to which a man is impelled by a certain inner and higher prerogative and law of his soul"; thus it stands α. absolutely to trust in Jesus or in God as able to aid either in obtaining or in doing something: Matthew 8:13;Matthew 21:22; Mark 5:36; Mark 9:23; Luke 8:50; John 11:40; followed by ὅτι, Matthew 9:28; Mark 11:23; (Hebrews 11:6); τῷ λόγῳ, ᾧ (ὅν) εἶπεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς,John 4:50. β. of the credence given to God's messengers and their words, with a dative of the person or thing: Μωϋσεῖ John 5:46. to the prophets,John 12:38; Acts 24:14; Acts 26:27; Romans 10:16;

First learn how to read what I wrote , then maybe I'll discuss it with you .

Despite the warnings in the NT false teachers men and women have entered the Church and gathered untold numbers of followers throughout the world and many indigenous clones have resulted particularly in Africa where people like Benny Hinn and Reinhard Bonnke have so much influence aided by such things as TBN and such. These false teachers can only increase when the nominal Christian bereft of any solid grounding in the Bible are taken in by nothing more than showmanship and popularity and those that take a stand to combat these phonies are shouted down as being judgmental and dividing the Church, to do nothing is a Sin as we are instructed to expose these evildoers and contend for the faith, who agrees with me.

Bible Verses About False Teachers
Bible verses related to False Teachers from the King James Version (KJV) by Relevance - Sort By Book Order

2 Timothy 4:3-4 - For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; (Read More...)
1 John 4:1 - Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
1 Timothy 6:3-5 - If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, [even] the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; (Read More...)
Jude 1:4 - For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 2:1 - But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
Deuteronomy 13:1-3 - If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, (Read More...)
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 - For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. (Read More...)
Ephesians 5:11 - And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove [them].
2 Timothy 3:5 - Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
1 John 4:1-6 - Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. (Read More...)
1 John 2:26-27 - These [things] have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. (Read More...)
2 Timothy 3:13 - But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
Matthew 7:15 - Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
These warnings cover a whole raft of false teaching applying to this age, focusing on some and letting others pass unnoticed is something to be avoided, we need wisdom and patience, the wounds of a friend are better than the kiss of an enemy.

When Jesus gave the Olivet Discourse, He said that, "EVEN THE ELECT would be deceived IF THAT WERE POSSIBLE"> meaning that those signs and wonders would be so inspiring to a reprobate world that even God's people could be deceived. IF IF IF it were possible. So obviously not possible.

Lots of 'signs' out there........some groups love signs and wonders, I know a person who actually dances 'in the spirit'. That must be the spirit of deception. David danced in victory celebration, naked. And he lost the respect of his wife.

Congregations today want their ears tickled. Or a dog and pony show. Or a pot-luck, or a super-duper Xmas pageant. Entertainment above all. Don't bore them with exegesis sermons, don't wake them up with hymns that speak bible truth, give 'em the new stuff with drums and horns and silly lyrics that make them feel good.

I think it is the reason that so many home chuches are springing up, I know one group that started with 6 couples and today they are thinking of breaking up their 22 couples because homes cannot accomodate large numbers.

False teachers are easy to spot with their carnival huckstetism and their lack of exegesis in preaching.
side note: Peter Popoff was sent to prison for duping his congregation......got out and now he is selling some kind of miracle water!!!
The whole WOF (word of faith) movement has been a seed of satan from its beginning and that old devil has many preachers.

People want to be part of the seeker friendly local congregation and they are well catered for where sin and repentance are dirty words and unity at any costs is the catch cry and the momentum needed to push the Ecumenical Movement at a faster pace, celebrity Pastors both men and women grow by way of being popular not Biblical.

true and it also entices unchurched people to see what the fun is all about
if sin wasn't fun nobody would partake of it

Allowing unbelievers into the local congregation was the reason that the church is in its current state where the Holy Spirit has departed and been replaced by an unfamiliar spirit doing things by stealth and deceiving the masses via evil men and women in the name of Jesus.

I thought we were on the same page until you implied that one person saves an entire househole. NOW that is when your expert Greek needs a bit of help.
