The Concept of Sin
From the beginning of time until the present day, virtually every ethnic group in the world has had their own unique set of beliefs that help them cope with the issues of life and death.
More often than not, they have also practiced some form of appeasement of the gods. These acts of conciliation have taken many forms including, food or flower offerings, personal penance, animal sacrifices etc. The most gruesome involved the ritual human sacrifices of the Aztec, Mayan and Incan civilizations and the child sacrifices of the ancient Canaanites. Even the worst of the Roman emperors felt the need to propitiate the gods.
In other words, humans often instinctively sensed that they were accountable to a "higher being". Either they felt that had not done what that being required or expected of them and the offering was 'fire insurance' or they had a request to make.

Sin under the Old Covenant was the transgression of the Law. Sin under the New Covenant is anything not done in faith. (Rom. 14:23)

Absolute perfection is God’s standard - anything less than that is sin for which the penalty is death
Hey! Baptist... PTL!

The law of the Spirit of life or the New Covenant has no curse of death for sin as does the OT's letter of the law, except for blaspheming the Holy Spirit, or by rewriting Revelations while leaving out selected portions, or by departing from the faith as in 1 Tim 4: 1.

Agreed about sin, which means to miss the mark; or to not do a thing perfectly as Jesus would have done it.

Hey! Quantrill... PTL!

I agree with your post above regarding, "whatsoever is not of faith is sin;" but would like to add one more thing:

1 Jn 3: 19-23 "And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then we have confidence before God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment, that we believe upon the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment."

Heb 9: "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without Spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"

If our heart condemns us, the Spirit will apply the blood of Christ to our consciences, purging them from dead works to serve the Lord and when our heart condemns us not: one might say that a clear conscience empowers full power faith.

Maranatha!

I don't usually open links, someone says It Is risky, potentially bringing a system chaos.
I understand that when posts are scrutinized by administration including links then there should be no problem, and making an informed decision about the post without knowing what is being written is impossible.

But to clarify more Is although those things of the new testament that are not done In faith Is sin,the born of Incorruptible seed person will still be saved because when GOD saved them their spirits were made perfect and sealed.

The link is not mine and as such paraphrasing is not allowed under terms of use.
But you are asking me to look at the link and debate what someone else wrote that I'm guessing represents your feelings so then In a way, you ARE paraphrasing behind that link that I don't trust, but I digress.

Yes, praise the Lord.

We may know the definition of sin, but that doesn't mean we cease to be sinners. Praise God He has delivered us from sin.

Paraphrasing Problems?

I can't imagine that paraphrasing something violates anyone's terms of use.
And it certainly doesn't break any actual copyright laws.

People Don't Like Links:

When you post a thread here, most people are not going to read some long and complicated post on another site.
Some people are just very busy, and others may have device or security issues preventing access to the link.

Personally, I just assume that people who are too lazy to actually post their thoughts aren't worth engaging with, because they don't seem to have any actual thoughts of their own.

So there are MANY reasons people won't go to a link, and read some long complicated post.

Conclusion:

1. POST & EXPECTATION:
Please try posting the topic, and necessary supporting points, for whatever you want to discuss, and then expect members to discuss ONLY what you post in the thread.

2. LINK AS REFERENCE:

A link should be be nothing more than a "reference" to support your claims, but an outside reference isn't really needed when just discussing scripture.

3. LIBERTY VS PRACTICALITY:
You can certainly post things however you want, but if you don't do things in the customary way, people aren't going to read your posts.
