Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in

gentleness of wisdom.

If you mean that because of the LOVE HE put in us when we were BORN AGAIN, that we WILL obey, You are RIGHT.

If you mean that Deeds add to your SALVATION or are saved because of those Deeds, Your are DEAD WRONG.

.... Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “be holy, because I am holy.” 1peter 1:13-16

Warning Against Refusing God Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; WITHOUT HOLINESS NO ONE WILL SEE THE LORD. See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. hebrews 12:14-15

Hebrews 12:14 - Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. The NASB reads - Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.

To be "sanctified" is to be "set apart, made holy." Without justification, there is no sanctification. Our ongoing sanctification has no bearing on our justification. That is, even if we don't reach entire sanctification/sinless perfection in this lifetime (which we won't) we are still justified by faith in Christ (Romans 5:1).

Those who have been justified by faith are also sanctified/set apart/made holy before God positionally in Christ. 1 Corinthians 6:11 - Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

Yet we also have progressive or ongoing sanctification in which the reality of that holiness becomes more and more evident in our actions, words, thoughts, attitudes, and motives. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4, - For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain (present tense) from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor.

So becoming washed, sanctified and justified in Christ is a one time event, yet abstaining from sexual immorality is not a one time event. The believer possess a positional, judicial standing of righteousness in Christ and, second, growth toward practical, progressive holiness, in regards to our ongoing sanctification.

In Hebrews 12:15, we read - See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God.. (NASB) The ESV reads - ..fails to obtain the grace of God. The NIV says ..falls short of the grace of God. We have access by faith into grace.. (Romans 5:2) Simply going through the motions of trying to be "holier than thou" and salvation by works is not what God has in mind here.

i do not trust men.

i read: His name is Immanuel, God With Us.
i also read:

Giving thanks to the Father who did make us meet for the participation of the inheritance of the saints in the light,
who did rescue us out of the authority of the darkness, and did translate [us] into the reign of the Son of His love, in whom we have the redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of the sins, who is the Image of the invisible God, first-born of all creation, because in Him were the all things created, those in the heavens, and those upon the earth, those visible, and those invisible, whether thrones, whether lordships, whether principalities, whether authorities; all things through Him, and for Him, have been created, and Himself is before all, and the all things in him have consisted. And Himself is the head of the body — the assembly — who is a beginning, a first-born out of the dead, that He might become in all [things] — Himself — first, because in Him it did please all the fullness to tabernacle, and through Him to reconcile the all things to Himself — having made peace through the blood of His cross — through Him, whether the things upon the earth, whether the things in the heavens.
(Colossians 1:15-20)

Yah has said, 'they will look upon Me, whom they have pierced'

and i look at His creation, and i see:

the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world, by the things made being understood, are plainly seen, both His eternal power and Godhead
(Romans 1:20)

Jesus Christ came 100% fully in the flesh. but i do not cast aside His eternal qualities, dude. i marvel at them. He remains at all times and apart from all time 100% infinite creator God, the Amen, First and Last, unchanging and eternal, Almighty God :)
Yes, He created man. He created the 10 Commandments. When Jesus says "Keep My Sayings" He is speaking to His Words in the Law and Prophets He came to preserve, not destroy.

It was Him who commanded not to create images of Him after the likeness of man, yet "many" who claim Him as "Lord, Lord, do just that and are not ashamed. He warned "Why do you call ME Lord, and do not the things I say?"

And Again:

"If you Love ME you will keep MY Commandments".

This is the 100% Man, 100% Christ which risked His Life for me.

But just like in His time, we have a monster religion which calls Him Lord, Lord, but denies Him by their works. They reject what He has Cleansed, and what He has deemed unclean. They reject HIS Feasts, treating them no differently than heathen High Days and have created their own holy days as they wish. They REJECT HIS Holy Sabbaths, that He, the Christ, The Word which became Flesh, created just for them. All these things they do in His Name.

And He, in His Tender mercies, told us beforehand that religious man would do all these things. That they would preach Peace, Peace (You are all saved) when there is no Peace.

They Preach that the instructions the Christ created for HIS People are "against us" and that Jesus came to "remove them" to use your own words. When the Christ Himself said heaven and earth will pass, but HIS Words will last forever.

He came as a man and showed once and for all that God's Instructions are not impossible to follow as "MANY" on this very forum preach.. And having been made the perfect man, He offed Himself for the sins of the repentant.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. (That HE created beforehand that we should walk in them.)

He, the Christ, the Word which became Flesh, has pleaded with man since He told Cain "If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him."

Over and over the Christ, the Word which became Flesh, pleaded with Mankind.

Jer. 6:
16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way,(Which the Christ had before ordained that we should walk in them) and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
17 Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.

15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.

But you have been convinced these Word's are not for you. You are already saved, already immortal. You have been convinced by those voices who preach "saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.", that you are all set. The Mainstream Preachers of Christ's time and those who followed them, along with Eve, also were convinced of the same things.

You said "Jesus Christ came 100% fully in the flesh. but i do not cast aside His eternal qualities, dude. i marvel at them. He remains at all times and apart from all time 100% infinite creator God, the Amen, First and Last, unchanging and eternal, Almighty God"

What eternal qualities? His Sabbaths that He created for man that many on this forum mock? His Definition of Holy, of Clean that many on this forum mock and reject? His 10 Commandments you claim were nailed to the cross? His Love? (And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.) The instruction to be set apart from the religions of the land? To "walk even as He Walked"?

Are these not 100% WORDS of the Christ, the Word of God which became Flesh in the person of Jesus? When He says:

21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Is He not speaking to His Word's as 100% infinite God creator?

This is the Christ I worship, it is His "PATH" that I "Strive" to enter, it is His Gospel that I promote. And for this I am called names and ridiculed and mocked as trying to "Earn" Salvation. And that by religious man who openly transgress God's (Christ's) Commandments by their own ancient religious traditions. SAme truth, same religion, different century.

Truly there is nothing new under the sun.

why do you always feel it necessary to lie about others?

these words are for me precisely because He saved me and gave me eternal life.

why does it bother you that person's faith can be strong enough to see these things as being reality?
why does it irk you that i am sure of the hope i have in Him?

Because in his mind of works and self-righteousness, by you're saying and claiming said assurance, to him you've done way more than him to earn this position. Pharisees can't be having that.

the physical sign of the Mosaic covenant is not an 'eternal quality' of God.
is circumcision of the flesh an 'eternal quality of God' ?

you don't even have any idea whether i keep sabbath in the flesh or not.
but do you hold a malicious grudge because i uphold the command 'do not let anyone judge you over a sabbath' ?

So when those came who were hired first, they expected to receive more. But each one of them also received a denarius. When they received it, they began to grumble against The Landowner.
(Matthew 20:10-11)

but he actually has no idea.
he just assumes, because i believe Colossians 2:16, that i'm apparently fornicating and worshiping Ba'al every saturday.

i believe it goes back to something even more petty.

when he first arrived here at CC i had a conversation with him in a thread. he was cordial and perfectly willing to answer questions in a straightforward way, seemingly eager to be my teacher. then we got to Colossians 2:16 - and he said it actually means we're supposed to judge each other over sabbath keeping & diet ((oddly leaving of the feasts and new moon festivals bit)). i told him he was wrong, and it was like a switch flipped. he's been slandering me ever since, jumping to all kinds of wrong assumptions, saying he knows everything about me and everything i believe - 95% of which he's absolutely wrong about.

i was probably not as gentle as i should have been - or maybe it was God's purpose that the malice in him be brought to light. i remember saying something like, oh, there it is, i should have expected - that everyone who thinks we are under the Law as having become redeemed through Him eventually has to flip Colossians 2 upside down if they want to keep their religion consistent.
he really, really didn't like that.

i'm under the impression that he's got a vendetta against me because i contradicted his teaching. that this is all about vanity, and ceased to be about doctrine a long time ago with him. if it was about doctrine, why would he keep making false accusations and bringing things up out of nowhere? par exemplar: we were talking about the hypostatic union. so why did he throw in a wild accusation about sabbath keeping, pointed personally at me? answer: grudge.

You will forever run into this ONE big problem with this doctrine of trying to bring the OT feasts and regulations to NT Christians:

What about......... circumcision? Is it necessary in your opinion? If you say yes, then you are contradicting what Paul says in the NT "circumcision is nothing and neither is uncircumcision but keeping the commandments of God". If you say no, then you are merely PICKING AND CHOOSING which OT commandments to keep. Circumcision is a big one, and if you dont do it you are "cut off" from the people. And its not the Mosaic covenant either, its the Abrahamic covenant as well. How do you decide which commandments to keep and which not? Why wouldnt circumcision be required if the feasts/Sabbaths are? Any scripture for this?

So, circumcision, in the new covenant, what say ye? yes or no?

If you want to be right, you have to add the comment, it is NOT that you do the deeds, that GOD IS LOOKING FOR. It is WHY you do what HE commands, THAT IS PLEASING TO GOD. If You are NOT doing the Deeds BECAUSE YOU LOVE HIM, it is FILTHY RAGS as far as GOD IS CONCERNED. So if you do the deeds out of a sense of duty, or that you MUST do them, IT IS FILTHY RAGS. ONLY DOING THEM OUT OF LOVE FOR HIM, WILL BE RESPECTED BY GOD.

Be Thankful for what HE has provided.
Amen VCO, the main ingredient that we all need to have is 'the love of God in our life.' When the "Lord is my Shepard I shall not be in need or want." Psalm23

Christians should always look to God as our provider for all of our needs even today and forever.

1 Samuel 2:8. "He raises the poor from the dust, He lifts the needy from the ash heap To make them sit with nobles, And inherit a seat of honor; For the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, And He set the world on them."

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our brothers and sisters in Christ. :)

(Romans 5:2) Simply going through the motions of trying to be "holier than thou" and salvation by works is not what God has in mind here.
...Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified. John 17:17-19

We are sanctified by the TRUTH which is the WORD of TRUTH, the gospel of our salvation. (Ephesians 1:13)What do we do with the Gospel? Do we just listen to it and then claim to have FAITH? No, otherwise we will fall short of the Grace of God.

...Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1:22

And what does the bible says to those who do not OBEY THE GOSPEL?

...For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the Gospel of God? 1 Peter 4:17

...He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the Gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9

And what has Jesus to say about these.

...Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.” Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me. John 14:21,23-24

...Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Ephesians 5:6

The WORD of TRUTH the gospel of our salvation (Ephesians 1:13) What do we do with the gospel? *Keep Reading* - in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. Those who believe the gospel do not merely “claim” to have faith. They truly do have faith and do not fall short of the grace of God. We have access by faith into grace.. (Romans 5:2)

There is a difference between obeying the gospel by choosing to believe the gospel and “becoming saved” and obeying further commands of Jesus “after we have been saved.” *In Romans 10:16, we read - But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”

The gospel is a message of grace to be received through faith. The gospel is not a set of rituals to observe, a code of laws to be obeyed or a check list of good works to accomplish as a prerequisite for salvation. Those who pervert the gospel by teaching salvation by works — “unbelievers” are disobedient.

...Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
