For some reason I keep thinking about an old xkcd comic...

https://xkcd.com/310/

I post the link to the comic instead of the comic itself because there is one minor cuss word in it.

The Lord is married to our spirit, not our bodies. Therefor he doesn't have our bodies but rather our soul and spirit. he leaves our bodies to marry someone else's body. That is why 2 fleshes become 1. Which is funny why we call this soul mates, is because we aren't married to another man or woman's soul, but rather their flesh. Flesh doesn't exist forever but the soul and spirit does, that is why we are no longer married when we die or our spouse dies but being the Bride of Christ we are married forever.

Perhaps you knew this though.
I did.

heh... oh boy, no offense, but I am surprised I have to explain that to any Christian.
I can use some scripture later, but may I say a few things to give understanding?

Does Jesus save our bodies/flesh, or our spirit? Does he change our flesh or our spirit? Does the body move to heaven after we die or does our spirit? When we are saved, we become part of the Church, which is known as the body of Christ. We all become one with Christ. Physically? no, but spiritually. God is ONLY a spirit. God is not of flesh. Therefor, God only marries his own kind, a spirit.

Our bodies live on this earth and perish here and never exist again. But it is our spirits that exist forever in either heaven or hell.

It's very obvious when you understand what we are, who we were, what Jesus died for, what he does with us in salvation, etc.

Physical marriage is the "symbol" of our "spiritual marriage" with Christ. We are married to man and woman in flesh, but married to Christ in spirit.

I didnt ask about the flesh that fades away. I want to see your proof that Jesus is MARRIED to our Soul.
We all the body of Christ are called the bride but nowhere do I see him talking about being married to our spirit.

That’s because we don’t marry Jesus until the day of His return. When he comes back we will experience that marriage. (Whether you are married ir not) i think here on earth we practice marriage the way it should be in heaven.

Just deeply study the gospel and what spirituality is. You'll understand then. Everything the Lord does is for spiritual things.

Spiritual life, spiritual love, spiritual relationships, etc. You don't think his marriage would be spiritual?

do you not remember reading the verses about being the bride of Christ? What do you think the bride of Christ is or do you not believe that is in the bible?

Spiritual things do not take up space. that is physical. Do you know what a spirit is? A spirit of a person is who they are altogether that they are.

I went to bible school college and learned all this deeply going over it with countless preachers.

Do you know what a body is? Do you know it is of just physical materials? We are NOT our physical bodies, but we are spirits that control a physical body. Therefor, when our bodies are dead, what else does Christ have to marry of us? Only our spirit, because our bodies are left on this earth perished away.

That is the idea. Like being engaged now on earth, and fully wed then in his new kingdom. But we know its an engagement that wont be canceled or end in a divorcement.

Good. that's the basic things that matter. Knowing if someone is your soul mate or not isn't really so important more than just being good to the one you married, soul mate or not.

Do u really think someine who was in the occult doesnt know about the spirit
Still it says nowhere that Jesus marries our spirit. Thats hypocrisy
The bride is a metaphor. He doesnt literally marry us
Never heard of bad soul ties did u

Some of it may depend on what your definition of the term soulmate is. And then I may get really pedantic and say something like I don't believe in soulmates, but I do believe in kindred spirits (as in people whose interests and worldview are extremely similar to one's own).

I decided not to. Even if there wasn't or was a verse in the Bible it's just common sense he's not marrying us physically. If he was Jesus would come down here marry woman and have sex with her. that's how a marriage works marrying someone physically. If he's not marrying us physically what else does he have to marry? Obviously the only thing left is our spirit. And you don't have sex with a spirit. if you know who God is and what he does then you know he is not going to marry us physically. And surely if you know scripture you know that the church is the bride of Christ. And if you know the story in scripture about being the bride of Christ it's who we are when we are saved in the church and we are being prepared to marry Christ and be his bride forever in heaven and we will be fully wed forever in eternity. He's definitely not marrying us now physically and then going to live with us forever because our physical bodies are going to die. If you really need Scripture to understand that then you don't even understand the basics of scripture or who God is. And that's what tells me that even if I find this verse, I believe you're going to just still argue and debate about it anyway. something about you seems like you dont read scripture or understand it well enough or either you're just stubborn and don't want to believe it. This is basic knowledge if you understand spirituality then you understand there is only a Physical Realm and a spiritual realm and God is not going to be physical in this world.

But here, if you must have some scripture to be aware Jesus has a bride, there are multiple verses, old and new Testament.

Revelation 21:9
Then came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, “Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.”

Isaiah 54:5
For your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is his name; and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth he is called.

Revelation 19:7-9
Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure”— for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”

Ephesians 5:25
Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,

Revelation 21:9-11
Then came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, “Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal.

You say you understand the spiritual realm so well beyond my imagination, but as many times as the Bible speaks about being the bride of Christ, I don't believe you understand the word of God near as much. This is a huge deal about having our relationship with Christ. If you don't understand that, you don't understand the physical marriage and why God made it either. Hopefully this helps you. If you understood, and if you knew, you wouldn't be debating about it. I only understand spirituality because I understand his word by his holy spirit in me. So I'm not sure how you understand it so well beyond me.
