Noted above by cv5: Christ Jesus died at about 3PM per Mark 15.....

He dies at 3pm (Thurs) there is an earthquake & as He passes thru the Veil in the Temple it's torn in 1/2. Forget about his body, he's not in it. He's in the Heart of the earth right at 3pm Thurs

Remember scripture say's: 3 days (12 hrs) & 3 nights (12 hrs). Evening aprox 7pm in Israel. And their days begin with evening.

So, Thurs 3 pm until evening on Fri = 1 day

Fri evening 1 night, Fri morning 2nd day. (Passover sabbath)

Sat evening 2 night, Sat morning 3rd day (regular sabbath)

Sun evening 3rd night. That's 3 day's & 3 nights, When the women show up in the morning HE'S GONE!

I was not talking about when he died, because they had to get PERMISSION to kill them quick, so that they could be taken OFF the Cross and get buried before Sundown. They took care of breaking the other two legs first, and when they did get to JESUS he was already dead. Then Pilate had to give their Permission to take the body down from the Cross. That delayed them even further, so it turned into the race to get him in the tomb by SUNDOWN.

I made a mistake earlier, I said it could have been shortly after sunrise on SUNDAY. I am sorry, but I found a verse that it had to be be predawn resurrection, as Mary when earlier than the others that where gathering spices.

John 20:1 (HCSB)
1 On the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark. She saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb.

It does not effect the days as the DAY started at night, and therefor it counted as a whole day.

If this is the right way to describe it... I'm working out my faith. Why am I getting criticism or whatever it is? Are questions no longer treated as questions? Is asking a question that is fundamental now something to be treated with disdain? I asked that people bear with me... and I would still appreciate answers to my question.
I was not criticising you.. I was just curious as to why you where asking the questions.. So ok you are just working out your faith.. Ok thats cool (y) .. No worries.. Happy to help with any questions you have :)

Keep in mind this is a forum composed of mostly disciples of Jesus, at least mostly claiming to be.
Sometimes people come in strictly to mock and cause trouble, these are called trolls.

Your initial question is perfectly good when it is posed seriously, however many folks will read it and balk at it concluding it is from a troll.

Jesus was raised from the dead, the Firstborn of the Resurrection, by the Father.........now here is where faith comes in because it is a mystery. Jesus may be called the Father in spirit and truth. I believe this because my gift of faith has given it to meo believe because it is given by the Word of God.

So your response is a spirit-filled faith-motivated yes.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday are still THREE days buried. Looks like we are saying the same thing.

NO, you are not counting right. Remember in the JEWISH mind, a day is a 24 hour Period or only a part of IT, but the NIGHT was Sunset to Sunrise. So therefore, if he rose when the Angel rolled the stone away (Lets Say at 4:00 AM) when the Guards were ASLEEP) that WOULD COUNT AS A DAY AND A NIGHT. SO WHY DID THE GUARDS NOT IMMEDIATELY REPORT IT ? ? ? Simple, to Fall Asleep on Guard Duty was an AUTOMATIC DEATH PENALTY. AND anyone breaking a Roman Seal on the Stone without Permission was also a CAPITOL OFFENSE. REMEMBER, A DAY STARTS AT NIGHT TIME, so even I will REPEAT, using your flawed method of counting method.

You want to believe that He could have been Laid in the Tomb some time during the late afternoon on Thursday, and rose sometime during the NIGHT when the Guards fell asleep.

Day 1 according to you was Thursday.
Day 2 began at Sundown, which was Friday by the JEWS.
Day 3 began at Sundown on Saturday considered Friday evening by us.
Day 4 began at Sundown which is Sunday, SO THURSDAY IS NOT POSSIBLE, because you add an extra day to the count.

He had to have been Laid in the Tomb, exactly at Sundown with NO SPICES in the Shroud, and a Double Back to Back SABBATH, made it Sunday after dawn, when the other women arrived at the tomb with the Spices. Mary Magdalene went earlier.

I'm done with disputing over words. I suggest you harmonize the gospels as that may give you a clearer picture of this.

Got a better Idea. We will ask HIM. It should not be long with now, UNTIL we hear, the Trumpet and the SHOUT, to come to the WEDDING OF THE LAMB; judging by the NIGHTLY NEWS.

Just in case you want see proof that the DAY in Judaism, goes from NIGHTFALL to NIGHTFALL.

[qoute]Jewish Calendar Date
When G‑d created time, He first created night and then day. Therefore, a Jewish calendar date begins with the night beforehand. While a day in the secular calendar begins and ends at midnight, a Jewish day goes from nightfall to nightfall. . . .

That comes from a JEWISH SITE.

Just on that predawn res. there was some women at the tomb even before Mary got to the tomb, they saw the stone rolled back and the angel sitting on the rock, but the women left frightened and didn’t say anything to anyone

In the Bible and currently in Israel the day starts at sunset. Sunday is not counted. He was put in the tomb late afternoon. So counting backwards from Saturday late afternoon 3 days gives us Wednesday late afternoon when he was buried. It was the preparation day for the second Sabbath of Passover. The high day mentioned in John. Too many people do not understand about annual Sabbaths so they think Friday when the Bible states preparation day. Therefore he rose on the weekly Sabbath late afternoon. Tomb empty Sunday early morning before dawn.

I do not think so, it seems to me Mary Magdalene, was the first. It does not say she went in, it only says she saw the stone rolled away. While she had intended to other wait for the other women; with the Stone Rolled away, she instead RAN TO PETER, thinking the ROMAN soldiers has hid the body.

So the other women had to buy spices (not likely they had it on hand), and the vendors may have opened at first light, also, they had to get PERMISSION from the commander of the GUARD, to break the ROMAN SEAL. I do not think the Commander of the GUARD would have LIKED being awaken by a bunch of woman, that wanted to place spices in the shroud, that could have waited until he up and had breakfast.

John 20:1-9 (NIV)
1 Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance.
2 So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!"
3 So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb.
4 Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.
5 He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in.
6 Then Simon Peter, who was behind him, arrived and went into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there,
7 as well as the burial cloth that had been around Jesus' head. The cloth was folded up by itself, separate from the linen.
8 Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed.
9 (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)

John 20:10-18 (NIV)
10 Then the disciples went back to their homes,
11 but Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb
12 and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus' body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.
13 They asked her, "Woman, why are you crying?" "They have taken my Lord away," she said, "and I don't know where they have put him."
14 At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.
15 "Woman," he said, "why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?" Thinking he was the gardener, she said, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him."
16 Jesus said to her, "Mary." She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, "Rabboni!" (which means Teacher).
17 Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'"
18 Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: "I have seen the Lord!" And she told them that he had said these things to her.

Luke 24:1-12 (NKJV)
1 Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.
2 But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb.
3 Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
4 And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments.
5 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead?
6 He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,
7 saying, 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.' "
8 And they remembered His words.
9 Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.
10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles.
11 And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them.
12 But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened.

Mark 16:1-11 (NIV)
1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus' body.
2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb
3 and they asked each other, "Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?"
4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.
5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
6 "Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.
7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.'"
8 Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.
9 When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons.
10 She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping.
11 When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.

Matthew 28:1-10 (NIV)
1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.
3 His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.
4 The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
5 The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."
8 So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
9 Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.
10 Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."

Mary Magdalene was there While it was still Dark, and again Just after Sunrise, with the other women.

This might seem like an unnecessary question because of 1 Corinthians 15:4 but please bear with me.
Matthew 16:21) From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

Since Jesus said He would remain in Sheol/Hades (in the heart of the earth) for three days and three nights. "the third day" implies that this period of 72 hours was completed. Which also means that the crucifixion occurred on Wednesday, not Friday.

And none of that is in the order in which it happened, and I’ll say another statement, the folks that was resurrected didn’t happened at the cross and stand around for a couple of days hiding out in the woods or standing by their graves waiting to go into the city, no no that’s placing the cart before the horse. sorry my friend most of those verses are out of order.

That’s Pure Fantasyland, no man knows the matching Julian calander name day to the 14th Abib on the a Jewish calander and the resurrection did not happen at the 9th hour, you can through that bogus 72 hour stuff right out the window bubba.

Indeed, I think it would be better to know why he was a good Steward of the garment by folding them and the reason why he left them in the tomb. Yea surely not many wonder of such things. I assume what day and how many hours is more interesting go figure.

You are counting wrong.

The scriptures say 3 days and 3 nights.

Just because the Jews consider a night to be a whole day does not get ANYONE away from the description of 3 days and 3 nights.

Otherwise, 3 days and 3 nights wouldn't be the description. Only 3 days would be the description. And you could do anything you wanted with the counting of the night.

Thursday before sunset - day 1
Friday - day 2
Saturday - day 3

Thursday night (beg of fri) - night 1
Friday night (beg of sat) - night 2
Saturday night (beg of sun) - night 3

The three days and three nights is not in respect to the Son of man being in a literal tomb dead for three days and three nights. Its where many error. The work of pouring out His unseen Spirit according to the promise of Joel began in the garden of Gethsemane on Thursday

The suffering of hell has to do with a living sacrifice. God cannot die. God poured out His Spirit life as if it was literal blood.

For the time his corrupted body was in the Tomb it was prevented from seeing corruption .The father put corruption on hold.

"Heart of the earth" must equal a living work of suffering in hell, the "belly of the whale".

It seems to me that a newbie or baby Christian would have more basic questions to be asked and answered than this particular one. I smell a troll.

Sadly It is futile to try and know the exact weekly secular day the 14th Abib fell on back sum 2000 yrs. the Passover has fell on all seven named days many many times over and over since the invention of the Julian and Gregorian calenders.

First and foremost one would have to know the exact year Jesus died to even attempt such a feat then the subtraction of leap yrs and the subtraction of months the Jewish calander adds as well because you have to work backwards in time to know, can’t just say yea it was on Wednesday there’s no truth in that at all. when folks say it was on a Wednesday or Thursday or Friday etc. it is pure guesswork.

Was that in respect to my request? If so maybe more than one troll? LOL

I would think a new believer would want to understand the phrase "heart of the earth" which would be defined when compared to "belly of the whale" seeing it is the last sign as wonder (Sign of Jonas) that Christ fulfilled, in three days .

Why make it the tomb of the dead if it was a living sacrifice?

Jonah 2 King James Version (KJV) Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish's belly, And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me; out of the belly of "hell" cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

What does heart of the earth mean? Does the earth have a literal breathing heart? If so what is it filled with?
