I am truly new friend. I did not say you said that. I simply made a statement because there is a false dichotomy in the church that if you are called to live faithfully it is a works based salvation. The Bible makes the point over and over that faith is accompanied by works except in the most extreme of cases.....
God wants His children to walk uprightly

but if you think it's to maintain the free gift of salvation given freely to all who believe in Jesus as their Lord and savior it shows you do not yet understand the gospel....

No such thing as believing in Jesus . That word is a mistranslation . Do a little research . You and your households lives may depend on it .

No, my life depends on Jesus's promises being true.

I'll continue to trust in Him, and the Holy spirit to lead me.... not some man who says there is no such thing as a saved believer.

The tongue in cheek quote that is often used and manifest in some, is that "the only difference between those who have accepted Christ and have not is the fact that those who have accepted Christ have been given a license to sin."

I am assuming that you are unaware that you are repeating a lie. That is PURELY A LIE perpetrated by Armenian's to advance their twisted cause, hurled at Calvinists. SOME even NEW IT WAS A LIE, and OTHERS IGNORANTLY REPEATED THE LIE, and NEVER REALIZING IT WAS A DELIBERATE LIE.

THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH, whether you be a 5 point Calvinist or less than that, (.I only believe in 3 Points of Calvinism.), IS WE BELIEVE THAT WORKS NEVER WERE PART OF SALVATION, instead THEY ARE PART OF LOVE. In ROM. 5:5, it says we had the HOLY SPIRIT Pour GOD's LOVE into Hearts, the MOMENT WE WERE SAVED, which is BORN AGAIN. THAT LOVE, will absolutely produce the SAME KIND OF LOVE in the BELIEVER, that GOD POURED INTO our HEARTS. OUT OF THAT LOVE, WE WILLING WANT TO OBEY OUR LORD GOD, AS AN ACT OF LOVE AFTER SALVATION, AND ALSO FOR OUR BRETHREN. NO REAL BORN AGAIN BELIEVER (.WHICH INCLUDES ANY TYPE OF CALVINISTS.) WILL LOVE GOD LIKE THAT, AND OTHER TRUE BELIEVERS.

ANY WHO BELIEVE OTHERWISE, IS STILL NOT BORN AGAIN. ANY WHO BELIEVES IN WORKS TO BE ADDED IN ORDER TO FINISH YOUR SALVATION, BELIEVES IN A FALSE DOCTRINE AT LEAST, IF NOT A FULL BLOWN FALSE GOSPEL.

Back in the 1980's, we evangelicals, (men like Dr. John MacArthur Jr., Dr. Charles Stanley, Dr. Chuck Swindoll, Dr. Ed Young Sr., ETC.), preached NUMEROUS sermons EXPOSING the LIE that those who have accepted Christ have been given a license to sin, was never TRUE IN THE FIRST PLACE. So we evangelicals, considered that LIE, dead and buried. It has been my experience, every once and awhile, {mostly young people who do not know any better}, DIG UP THAT LIE, THAT WE THOUGHT WE HAD BURIED, and starts running off at the mouth, with it.

Now if you meant it as a JOKE . . . . . . . . . . YOU ARE NOT FUNNY!

He is perfect

Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.”
The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “the person who does these things will live by them.”
(Galatians 3:11-12)

His promises are not yours yet if you haven't started a life of Faith and faithing . You've probably been drawn or called by the Father , He's awaiting your first act of pisteuo , your first act of Jn faithing .

Your sending a payment to Ford motor credit , and you have no contract , no covenant . Your payment isn't acceptable without a covenant , a contract , the application of Faith , pisteuo .

you were bought at a price; therefore honor God with your bodies
(1 Corinthians 6:20)

i'm not trying to pay for the gift; i'm just grateful

Our Faith and faithing " a continually surrendered life " , is the tender of heaven , and the only thing that spends .

Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost!

No such thing as a saved believer .

Ephesians 2:4-5 (HCSB)
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us,
5 made us alive with the Messiah even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace!

Ephesians 2:8-9 (HCSB)
8 For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift—
9 not from works, so that no one can boast.

Titus 3:5 (HCSB)
5 He saved us— not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

Luke 19:9 (HCSB)
9 “Today salvation has come to this house,” Jesus told him, “because he too is a son of Abraham.

Romans 8:24 (NASB)
24 For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees?

Romans 3:24 (HCSB)
24 They are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

Romans 3:28 (HCSB)
28 For we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

Galatians 5:4 (HCSB)
4 You who are trying to be justified by the law are alienated from Christ; you have fallen from grace.

Romans 11:6 (HCSB)
6 Now if by grace, then it is not by works; otherwise grace ceases to be grace.

hey i can't get studydude to give an answer, and Endoscopy appears to have given up quickly -- what do you think Matthew 17:22-18:5 means?
I only discuss scripture with those who can prove they've faithed into Him . Sorry , I just haven't been following your understandings closely enough .

A Surrendered life " true pisteuo " by nature is surrendering to another, to become a slave to another , that other is Christ . That would be a response to the call of the Father , not an accomplishment .

I don't remember taking credit for anything other than fulfilling pisteuo . And fulfilling pisteuo is not all God and certainly not all me .

YOU OUR OVER LOOKING IN ONE POINT, is is NOT what you do, IT IS WHY YOU DO WHAT YOU DO, the MOTIVE behind that Action:

1 Samuel 16:7 (NRSV)
7 But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for the LORD does not see as mortals see; they look on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart."

If your motive for doing things that Pleases the LORD, is NOT PURE LOVE FROM YOUR HEART, it is FILTHY RAGS.

Just so you KNOW, I GENUINELY SURRENDERED TO HIM OUT OF PURE LOVE when HE SAVED ME, Dec. 30, 1977,
AND I HAVE BEEN WALKING IN HIS LOVE AND, LOVING HIM, AND LOVING THE BRETHREN EVER SINCE.
Spiritual REBIRTH, happens in an moment, Sanctification of the Body is a Life Long Struggle, becoming more and more like HIM.

How do YOU represent Jesus?
By saying that we're saved no matter what after walking down some isle?

That's a weak Jesus. The One I know is strong and expects us to walk with Him and be a disciple of His.

Jesus will do all those things you mentioned above...
Begin and complete your faith...as long as you remain with Him.
Unless you're a calvinist, you surely believe we have our free will even after salvation.
Do you?
If you do, then surely you must believe that we are free to leave His side whenever we want to.

Now, if you're saying we won't want to, I'd be inclined to agree. The only problem I have is that there are persons that say they were believers and now no longer are.

Isn't it better to preach that we should cling to our Lord?
Better to preach what HE said?
John 14:1
Believe in Jesus. Be His disciple.

And there is no tragedy in worshipping Jesus.
I think it's good to warn people that they should cling to the Savior of our soul.
Romans 11:20 states that due to unbelief a branch will be cut off.
Isn't it a good idea to say that we must continue to believe if we're to be saved?
Mathew 12:30 We must remain WITH Jesus.
Fran, like normal you misdirect instead of dealing with the post I made....my Jesus finishes and completes the work of faith he begins....yours does not or cannot....which is it?

Dcon,
You need to calm down.
No kidding.
You're a bundle of nerves.
One day at a time, sweet Jesus.
And don't get so upset with those that disagree with you.
We're all brothers in the Lord -- just talking.
:)
Has nothing to do with stress from the workers for and Cainologists......was born without the flap on top of stomach.....

....... you go to bible discussion forums looking for people to prove things to you before you are willing to discuss scripture with them.......

but make claims that their lives and the lives of their household may depend on "researching" your claims that there is no such thing as a saved believer....

.....but.... you can't answer a single question about scripture without proof of what now?
