In most places, yes? I think maybe in some places at certain times the sun does not come up for periods longer than a day, or maybe it is up for periods longer than a day.

Edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polar_night
That’s a good point about the sunrise and sunset in the poles, though maybe not an actual rise and set as most people know in to be, but i think it may still rise and set just not below the horizon or above the horizon during those months of winter and summer.

What you are dealing with is two different reckonings of starts of the day.
The ancient Jewish formula was starting the day at sunset. However in the Galilee region, they held to the Greek formula of starting the day at morning. This fact reconciles the early Passover held by Jesus and the Apostles. These facts are well testified to by Josephus and other historians.
Furthermore, it is said that the religious authorities allowed this Passover overlap, as it eased the workload on the priests and logistically it was helpful. The point is that the bible uses both reckonings in different places.
Well Josephus' writings are readily available, can you give us a reference when he said this. You folks believe what you want but Luke and John's references just show when it was discovered that Jesus had risen. It had to be just before sundown or the fourth day would have started, making scripture untrue.

I have heard that too, yet the four Gospels seem to infer that the beginning of the day is at sunrise.

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. Matthew 28:1

And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. Mark 16:2

Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. Luke 24:1

The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. .John 20:1
KJV

Gen 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
(NOTE: One 12 hour evening 6pm until 6am. Then one 12 hour morning 6am until 6pm. An evening & a morning = One 24 hour DAY)

Lev 23:32, the Lord said, "From even unto even shall ye celebrate your Sabbath."
(NOTE: Sabbath Day; Starts with evening & ends with evening = one 24 hr day)

Old Testament Jewish doctrine only recognized 3, 4 hour watches: The 1st watch - beginning of the watches (Lamentations 2:19). The middle watch (Judges 7:19). The morning watch (Exodus 14:24 & 1 Samuel 11:11)

These began at 6pm/sunset until 10pm, 10pm until 2am & 2am until sunrise/6am

During Roman rule the number of watches changed to 4. Jews, Greeks & Romans divided the night 4, 3 hour watches. Each watch marking the period for which sentinels or pickets were on duty.

These began at 6pm/sunset & were 3 hours ea. Simply referred to as 1st watch/evening, 2nd watch, 3rd watch & 4th watch.

Matt 14:25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
(NOTE: NT watch terms - even (evening) - 6pm til 9pm, midnight - 9pm til midnight, cock crowing - midnight til 3am & morning 3am til 6am
(NOTE: The FOURTH WATCH)

John 11:9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
(NOTE: Jesus says; There are 12 hours in a day. This doesn't include evening/night)

Okay, question: If there were back-to-back Sabbaths, when did they buy the spices. Jesus was buried just before sunset on the high day (annual Sabbath). They would have to wait until after that to buy them. By the time they mixed them, they had to wait on the weekly sabbath to be over. Wednesday is the only day that fits.

DID ANYONE EXPECT HIM TO DIE? REMEMBER THEY WERE EXPECTING THE MESSIAH THE KING, NOT MESSIAH THE PRINCE. Therefore I still believe with the BACK TO BACK SABBATHS fit better than ANY OTHER THEORY.

IT puts him in the TOMB RIGHT AT SUNDOWN THURSDAY.
IT IS 100% ACCURATE, not just CLOSE, 100% ACCURATE according to HIS 3 DAYS and 3 Nights Prophesy.
IT is TRUE to the HEBREW way of COUNTING Any part of a day that started at SUNDOWN counts as a full Day.
The TIMING of the Ladies coming with the SPICES, gave them time to be at the Spice Vendors, and get to the tomb Just after Sunrise.
It REFLECTS GOD has to be involved in the PROPHECY, one too many Leap Years, or One too few, creates FLAWS in MAN's Count.
Wednesday IS RIDICULOUS, because that would make ANOTHER Day of PREPARATION on Friday and the would have gone THAT DAY.

Go back and look at my EXPLANATION of the DAYS AND NIGHTS. AND also the Jewish minset is a DAY Begins at Sunset, and Ends at Sunset.

[qoute]Jewish Calendar Date
When G‑d created time, He first created night and then day. Therefore, a Jewish calendar date begins with the night beforehand. While a day in the secular calendar begins and ends at midnight, a Jewish day goes from nightfall to nightfall. . . .

It is obvious you can't count.
Tomb empty Sunday.
Sabbath
Friday
Thursday second Passover Sabbath
Wednesday crucified.

No you can't Count. Any part of a day Sunset to Sunset counts as DAY the whole 24 Hours in the JEWISH mindset. See my above Post.
Jews count different than we do. However Night fall is generally called the hours between Sunset and Sunrise, though it can be less than that.

Preparation Day was Thursday.

Sunset Thursday is a NIGHT and the beginning of A DAY called FRIDAY until the next SUNSET - DAY ONE.

Sunset Friday is a Night and the beginning of A Day called Saturday until the next SUNSET - DAY TWO.

Sunset Saturday is a Night and even if it ends during the Night, IT IS STILL CALLED A DAY, SUNDAY - DAY THREE.

The JEWISH DISCIPLES WROTE THE GOSPELS, AND JESUS WAS A JEW, SO I WOULD EXPECT THEM TO USE Counting of DAYS according to JEWISH TRADITIONS. I have studied Jewish Traditions and Customs, and I do not know why most Christians IGNORE IT. There is a GREAT DEAL OF INSIGHT to be learned from studying Jewish Traditions and Customs. Like where the EXPRESSION Comes From: I go to prepare a place for you in my Fathers House.

Unless I'm mistaken (I have a memory problem), I was literally asking if Jesus rose from the dead on the third day. Like did He actually rise from the dead on the third day? I wasn't trolling.

What does it mean to rise from the dead?

Because Christ cannot die the body of the Son of man Jesus' was kept from corruption for three days as a "living sacrifice" . God does not accept dead sacrifices that provide no spirit life.

The three days three nights demonstration of the spiritual work not seen as the Lamb slain from before the foundation of the world began in the garden when Christ poured out His Spirit as if it was blood.

Acts 13:35Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Acts 13:37But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.

The translation in Matthew 28:1 it would seem there was confusion as to do with the word "sabbath" .Its like they did not know what to do with it.

The Young's literal gives us a better base for understanding the new era of sabbaths ( toward the first or new era of the sabbaths)

Previously on the 6th day the word Sabbath does not equal and day of the week .Its not a time sensitive word. It simply means rest with no other meaning attached to it..

Matthew 28 Young's Literal Translation (YLT) And on the eve of the sabbaths, at the dawn, toward the first of the sabbaths, came Mary the Magdalene, and the other Mary, to see the sepulcher,

I don't mean to be a spoil sport. BUT Jesus in NOT TAKING about the Traditional Counting of DAYS, HE is only talking about Daylight Hours or it can also be correctly translated Daytime, or correctly translated Daily.

This is from your FIRST SITE you gave us:

In Jewish time, the day begins with the onset of night (the appearance of the stars) followed by the morning (which technically begins with the appearance of the North Star). According to some Jewish teachers, night and morning begin with sunset and sunrise respectively. For that is how the Torah describes it: “And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.”
This is from the SECOND SITE you gave us:

This Chart did not pick up the WORDS. I do not know why? I the Space between the TOP TWO ARROWS it has Written:

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ,,,,. . . . ,,,. One Hebrew Day

Splitting them up between Night Time Hours and Daylight Hours.

That Indicates that the HEBREW DAY is 24 hours long, with equal hours of Night Time and Daylight hours, even though it is not like our Time. It would prefer they would PERMANENT Daylight Saving Time, but nobody agrees.

This is the SITE that I POSTED:

Well, if any man walks in the light, then he would see that the measure of the day is made by the light above the brightness of the sun. Thus the measure of the day is made by degrees, not hours.

In such, as written in Genesis 2:4, "in the day the LORD God made the earth and the heavens" one can see the that the greater light and lesser light were set in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night, and for days.....

And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.
2 Kings 20:11
