Recently, I was listening to a Christian radio show, and the subject that day was on hell. A person called in and asked the host if he had children. The host confirmed he did. The caller then asked; "Could you ever take even one of your children and throw them into a fireplace and watch them burn for disobeying you?"

The host said he would never do that to one of his children.

The caller then said, "Well, we are all God's children because He is our creator, and you're telling people God would do something even you've admitted you would never do, and on top of that, saying God will let them suffer for eternity!"

The fascinating part for me came with the Host's answer.

He said; "Yes, we all have a common creator in God. But the Bible is clear, that doesn't make you His child. God also created trees, rocks, lizards, and cockroaches - that doesn't mean He's their dad. We become God's adoptive children at conversion. Before that, we are all children of the devil. So, in fact, God would never throw one of His children into the fire. Nor would I."

:)

The host was correct. Not all people are God's people and God does not love all people.
If you can wrap your head around that truth you are on the way to understanding God and His sovereignty.

we are MOST definately NOT ALL God's children

and sometimes I question those who say they are His Children

actions speak louder than words...although all we have here are words :censored:

the theme of 'God is not sending anyone to hell' is very popular these days. it's so comforting

however God says He did not create the lake of fire for humans, but for the devil and his angels

Originally, yes.
things we do not understand...so many many things.

God is love. but He is Holy in His love.

think of how hard and awful this earth can be at times to a believer. why would a just, merciful, holy and righteous God make believers live with those who have thumbed their nose at Him in eternity?

these things are real

There is no place of everlasting torment. Romans 6:23 tells us the wages of sin is death. Death is just death: you cease to be. We do not have an immortal soul as most teach. Those that have partaken of Christ's salvation have God's promise of immortality, but that is still future.

God does not throw people into the fire. He just does nto let them enter heaven wiht him.

At judgment day. God says Depart from me. He does not pick them up and cast them into hell.

God created hell for Satan and his angels.. Humans who do not enter heaven, joins Satan themsleves thus in a sense, throwing themselves in hell.

do you then, like so many others call God a liar when He says He knows those who are His and NO ONE can take them away from Him?

you must have a weak God who lies

I'm sorry

Far fewer are really saved than they that proclaim such. Nothing I stated says what you are suggesting. Of course, God knows His own and they are secure. To many are serving the other spirit that comes as an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14). :)

Thats interesting because many so-called parents actually do a similar thing with their own children from their own womb/loins via abortion.

One thing that struck me last Sunday was we were talking about God in church and one member said God loved the day he became a Father when Jesus his only begotten son was born. Had you ever thought about God in that way? Even abraham had not called God Father. Maybe friend, but not Father. Jesus was the firstborn of many, and are entered into a familial Father, son relationship.

Another thing is, disobedience isnt the main thing that keeps people from God, its unbelief.

but you're good, right?

tell you what. in my experience, very often, the ones who squawk the most about how almost no one is saved are the ones
who judge everyone but themself

this is what you said:

I am not judging anyone. If you are satisfied on how you interpret scripture and you are on good terms with Christ, well praise God. I will rejoice with you. I am not worried for lost loved ones because I believe God is not done with them yet. Even though Satan runs the world system by deceiving man, his run will be cut short. God is not losing souls to the dark one. Those called now are just the first fruits, there will be other harvests.

Jesus has always been the Son. The Father didn't become the Father when Jesus was physically born.

The Bible says those people who take the mark of the Beast shall suffer day and night, tormented forever in fire and brimstone (Revelation 14:10-11).

So, there's that.

True. He is the eternal Son, as clearly shown in Micah 5:2:

But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

What this Scripture is telling us that even though the Christ-Child would be born in Bethlehem, He has existed from eternity past. The chief priests and scribes who quoted this verse from Micah to evil Herod conveniently and deliberately omitted the underline portion (Mt 2:6): And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

Well this was just one church members take on it. Im sure that when you became a parent, you rejoiced to have a child. Before that, nobody could have called you 'dad'.

Even abraham did not become a dad until Isaac was born. He had Ishmael, but he had to put Ishamel away. Some people sow wild oats right? Do any if these illegitmate children actually know their 'dad'. No they dont. There are many fatherless sons and daughters who dont even know who their fathers are. Or even where they are. They cant call anyone 'dad'. The dads or shall we say sperm donors, some dont even know they fathered a child.

how do you reconcile the above opinions with actual scripture?

none of it matters. at all

what matters is the truth revealed in the word and that is what we are to believe
