Well peeps, I am finally logged on. My system had an auto update last night when I turned it off. Much to my dismay this morning I was crashed. From the boot sector I went into system checkup and the hard drive kept failing. I recently bought some DVD-R discs meaning to backup my system. I put it off and seem to be stuck.
I kept going through the systems restore functions, but the only option was to uninstall all my apps that I had bought. That included MS Office and McAfee Antivirus and I wasn't willing to start over. I left the computer on after trying to run restore functions and went to do something else. I was finally ready to call HP support when I came back. I hit the power button thinking to reboot back to the system screen and up popped the Windows logon screen. I logged on and I guess it fixed itself. I am doing the backup boot disc for the DVD-R immediately. I am also doing an image backup on disc right away. Nothing like a crash to get you to do what you already know. HP probably would have charged for support. Praise God I didn't have to do that.
