35And the angel answered and said unto her, (The Holy Ghost) shall come upon thee,
and (the power of the Highest) shall overshadow thee: therefore also
that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called (the Son of God).

Again if it was a person, Jesus would be called the Son of the Holy Spirit.
Conjucture.
We know the Holy Spirit is God and a "he"

So on their own, they are not God?

Jesus is not God, the Father is not God, the Holy Spirit is not God!!!
I don't figure it out.
I say what the bible says

In revelation the God man,Jesus, takes the scroll from the Father.
Pretty much destroys many a speculation.
Two persons. Separate and unique. Both God.

The Bible tells us Jesus is God the Word, the creator, who came down from heaven (John 6:38) and humbled himself being found in appearance as a man. (Phil 2:8)

The trinity is a man made doctrine, was presided over,
started by a roman idea and who was worshiped as a god,
then we have [the holy roman empire] church state combination.
you might want to study up on This [woman] mentioned in the bible.

Also the papal calendar we use , the holidays on it are all pagan,
and God even prophesied it would change time, seasons and laws.
I should get lots of dislikes for these comments, like that helps lol.
You can say the trinity is a man made doctrine all you want and claim that it was Rome's idea too, but it is scripture that says:
"Let us make man in our image and after our likeness," and we find ourselves to be triune in that we all have body, soul, and spirit.
Or when Jesus was baptized of John to fulfill all righteousness: the Father Spoke from heaven, the Spirit took the form of a dove and alighted upon Jesus, who was there as himself. Three manifestations of the Lord in a single moment, one of each person. And the Lord commands the church to go into all the world with the gospel baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Spirit. That being said, for salvation, we come to the Lord as we are and the Spirit illuminates the scripture according to his timing. So that, He that hath the Son hath life and he that hath not the Son hath not life. Those who have the Son have life which means that they have Father too; even if they don't realize it.

You said yourself God is Spirit.
But that does not make Him not a person either.

The definition of the Trinity in one God. This God is a Godhead that is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each is a Person, yet one God.

In simplest terms, think location

Father = God out there everywhere.
Son = God standing or walking around next to me .
Holy Ghost = God in me.

Change of location, not change of person.

Personhood is a state of being, as in childhood, motherhood, fatherhood, knighthood, widowhood, sainthood etc.

It does not describe God's state of being except to reduce him to a human level. This is church dogma you are giving us according to Sproul and Calvin et. al.

You have no clue what you're talking about. First, church dogma doesn't reduce God down to a human, you're misunderstanding and inability to listen and be taught has done this. No one has done what you accuse.

You really need to learn from some solid teachers as your teaching is in error and purely subjective.

So on to mocking Sproul and Calvin, two studied men of God who are solid and sound, but we're to listen to you when you're in such grave error?

Mocking these men is more of a commentary on you than on them. Their teachings are sold and biblical, you mock them, yet we're to listen to your error? Their works are well known and have influenced thousands if not millions in the faith and sound doctrine, and you're on here creating heretical teaching post after post. It is obvious you're no student of Scripture, you are not sound in doctrine. I can't believe you went on to take a jab at them as if you're teaching is to be honored, unbelievable. Please stop while you're so far behind and make any more erroneous statements! Who have you learned from, read, listened to besides yourself to come to your errant views????

The trinity is a confusing subject to many, no doubt about that. If you do a search you will find a ton of questions about the trinity from Christians and non-christians alike.
We have many different explanations for it. Like water ice and steam. The egg-shell, and the football illustrations.

If someone were to ask me if I believe in the trinity, I would say yes. And I have. But then as we started conversing I have been often accused of being a modalist. I had no idea what that is.

Here again is my view of it and how I explain it, so someone can tell me what "ism" im in: I believe in the Godhead. One God. We are made in God's image and we are a body/soul/spirit. How this would work with the Godhead is: Father = Soul, Jesus = body, Holy Spirit = Spirit.
I think its a great and simple way to explain it, if anyone can show me wrong from scripture i'll change my view obviously in a heart beat. I like it because I dont need extra-biblical catholic philosophical ideas and words added to scriptures like "persons" or "essences" or anything like that. Thats just too complicated in my opinion.

Its easy to find verses that prove the deity of Jesus. But its impossible to find a single verse that "proves" the trinity. Which is exactly my problem with it, if its that important God would surely have mentioned it, and there should have been a big controversy among the jews for it. But Paul never writes about it, thats why I believe the "Godhead" would be a proper and biblical word to use instead. This bothers me because when witnessing to people the trinity almost ALWAYS comes up, especially when talking to muslims, OY VEY!

What do YOU personally, believe about the trinity, how would you explain it? If you even believe in it. And if you dont, show scripture why not.
Verses that explain the trinity...check out 1 John 5:5-13

JOhn talks about the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost and these three are one. BEcause they witness to each other. The word (Jesus) bears witness to the Father being the son, the Father bore witness to the son, and the Holy Spirit bears witness to both.

With muslims its because they dont believe God had a son, and they dont believe Jesus gave his life for us. And because they have difficulty understanding the holy ghost too. That God could come to dwell within us by his holy spirit. So you need to explain to them that God so loved the world he sent his only begotten son... and this makes God our Father...to them, God is a faceless unknown creator who rules the universe kind of like a boss. They dont understand Him as a dad.

Yes, and they cannot know him as Father until God reveals Himself to them, until they see their sinfulness and need of Christ as Savior as per Matthew 11:25-30.
