Spirituality Healthy families come from spirituality heathy marriages and spirituality healthy marriages come from spirituality healthy singles. The evil one has attacked marriage from the very first lie in the garden. He has incapacitated the family, he has weakened marriage and targets singles to keep marriage and families from flourishing.

A) What do you do as a single to be healthy spiritually?

B) What are you doing to prepare for a spirituality healthy marriage?

I keep going to church and being involved in small groups to maintain connection with the wider body of Christ and make sure my spirituality is not left to my own ideas, interpretations and narrow perspective. I have a theory of setting aside time for God every morning to start the day with God, but practice isn't what I'd like it to be. And though I don't feel like I pray quite so much in the traditional sense, having no one else when I need to talk things over with someone I turn to God fairly often. I also place a pretty high priority on living with integrity, being true to my word, character, and trying to remember to show consideration to those around me or who might be affected by my decisions.

I can't say that I expect to be married, but I do remember reading in a good book that the most important consideration about your marriage partner is their character. So while I'm not doing much to prepare for or pursue marriage, I am fairly confident that growing in honesty and character will serve me well if God surprises me by calling me into a marriage. Other than that, I'm pretty sure that what is beneficial for me as a single in various areas of life (with maybe the exception of my extreme capability that may leave some poor guy feeling like I don't need him at all) would also be beneficial to a marriage and a married me (things like financial, physical, emotional, and relational health and healthy functioning in those areas). And I do my best to relate to the men I know (whether single or married) with respect, consideration, and purity.

I read my bible, say my prayers, and try to avoid women in lycra catsuits.

I watch encouraging sermons on youtube and I have some specific scriptures that I refer to when I need encouragement (which is pretty much all the time). I also try to believe that God loves me.

I didn't answer part B because it doesn't apply to me. There's no hope for me ever getting married.

A) What do you do as a single to be healthy spiritually?

B) What are you doing to prepare for a spirituality healthy marriage?
A) I am preparing myself to become the best version of myself in his eyes along my renewed spiritually heightened journey with him...
I am spending much more time with Him during my earnest periods of self reflection. Emotionally thanking him for my blessings, for reminding me of who I am and who I can be. For reassuring me of my strengths and helping me to regain my balance and my self confidence... For reminding me of my weaknesses and my vulnerabilities such that I can pursue new strengths in those areas.
To know and better appreciate my own worth, especially in the area of being there for my loved ones during their times of need.

B). I am preparing myself to become emotionally available and unconditionally committed to whomever (or even if) the Lord decides to bring someone into my life whom he deems worthy and would mutually benefit from his additional blessings for a spiritual and biblical Union.
I am saving myself physically and emotionally for (if and when) the One He has chosen - for our paths to cross along our independently destined journeys towards a spiritually blessed Union.
I am preparing myself to always be available to talk when she needs to talk, to listen when she merely needs acknowledgement, to talk things out, or a shoulder to cry on, or a hug to let her KNOW that she is appreciated, that she does matter and that she is absolutely LOVED by another to the fullest extent as HE had gloriously intended.
