If you are not saved in the first place you will never enter heaven. Many have only a mental ascent to Christ and not a belief wrought in Holy Spirit conviction.

the bible says that every man that has this hope In him will seek to purify himself even as he Is pure so then how will he walk away, wouldn't the WORD of GOD stand as correct?
In order to understand that, you will have to understand how depraved we are by our nature. We all are tempted by our sinful nature and do things that we really do not want to do. Paul explains this in Gal 5:17.
I was talking about after a person gets saved.

Before we get saved, men still have a choice that they can make because every man knows that there Is a GOD,the creation Itself declares It so then there Is no excuse seeing that we have sense knowledge,we can decide to choose, and no one Is SO depraved that they can’t make a common sense choice.

What is meant by "need the Holy Spirit to be saved"?
I didn't stutter! Either you have it or you do not. If you do not, keep looking because you need it.

Acts 19:2-5 "He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus."

You need the Holy Spirit to be saved. None of the disciples had that until Pentecost.
Was this before or after Pentecost?

John 20:21-22
Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” 22 And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

Even after we are regenerated we all still at times yield to the temptations of our fleshly depraved nature. That is why God tells us to repent. The unregenerate feel no need to repent of spiritual laws because he cannot discern the things of the
spirit.

Moses had the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and so did all of the rest of the old testament saints and prophets.

We know that God created Eve for Adam as a help mate. She was made from the rib of Adam meaning she was to stand by him, not be under his foot. Joseph Prince preached we can beat our wives stupid and God will be ok with that. How does God make man a help mate and a prominent Grace preacher turn her into a punching bag that God finds it to be good? He preaches we can do what we want and God overlooks it. How did do unto your brother as you would have them do to you, end up being I can beat-steal-lie-kill my neighbor and God's ok with it?
Not surprised
That comes out of the mouth of money hungry, juvenile, false teacher, look at me Joe Princely.

That is very interesting. Can a person have a mental ascent without being convicted by the Holy Spirit? Does "logic" alone make people "get saved", or is it conviction of the heart that makes people get saved?

Salvation... the Jesus story is not logical.... some man claiming to be died over 2000 years ago. And He will "SAVE" us!?!

Yes GOD convicts but the question someone might ask Is how does this look,no one can come to JESUS unless the Father who sent JESUS draws them?

IMO,that means that Inwardly the person has to be sincere on the heart level In TRUTH and GOD has put It In every person to know that there Is GOD.

I think this is one of the greatest answers ever!

Therefore we can not judge who is saved... right... because it is a "heart" thing we can not see but only G-d!?! In your words....

Indwelling?I guess I missed that Old Testament scripture.
I was wondering that as well.
The Tent of Meeting was a place where Moses (and Joshua) could experience the presence of God.
I love this scripture.

Exodus 33:10-11
Whenever the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the entrance to the tent, they all stood and worshiped, each at the entrance to their tent. 11 The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.

Salvation is by grace through faith. Mental ascent does not convert the soul. If you have never been convicted by the Holy Spirit about your sin, Christ's righteousness and the certain judgment of God upon sin you have never been saved.

What is logical about dying in your sins and spending eternity apart from God? Especially in light of the plan that God
up for man to be redeemed

I would define "mental ascent" as an acknowledgement of the existence of God or the validity of the Bible and the church, but without an inner change having occurred. It is one thing to believe that there is a God, quite another to embrace the gospel message as your own. Heart knowledge rather than merely head knowledge. Missing heaven by one foot, as the saying goes. The distance between head and heart.

If we leave Jesus and turn from him we loose salvation.

No Demi, because our salvation is not based on us - it's based on what Jesus accomplished on the cross. Our involvement begins and ends with either initial acceptance of His salvation or ultimate rejection of it at death. Salvation is a gift. If it were anything else it would be something we could earn and boast about. If we can't earn it before conversion, we can't earn (keep) it after conversion through our behavior. If so, it would indeed be a wage and not a gift. (Romans 4:4)

Being Born Again literally means to be "born from above". It refers to God's giving of eternal life to the one who simply believes in Jesus for it. (Titus 3:5). We thus are Justified - which means God has declared righteous all who believe in Jesus. He acquits us and pronounces a verdict of "not guilty". And that verdict lasts for eternity.

We have been completely reconciled to God. Our alienation and estrangement that formally existed between us and God is totally eradicated. (2 Corinthians 5:19). We have been forgiven of all sins - past, present, and future. Even the sin of backsliding or future rejection of Christ. God takes it a step further and said He would no longer even remember our sins (Hebrews 10:17). No longer means not now, nor in the future.

We have been adopted into God's family (Romans 8:14) and can never become "unadopted". Jesus said no one (that including us) - can snatch us from His hand, or the Father's hand. (John 10:28-29)

In fact, the Bible says nothing in all creation (which including us - as we are created beings) can separate us from the love of God in Christ. (Romans 8:38-39)
