Wansvic when you were baptized in water did you get up and immediately start speaking in tongues?
No. I received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues first. Years later got water baptized "in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost."
Afterward, upon seeing that all recorded water baptisms were done in the name of the Lord Jesus. I wanted to obey what was so obviously in the Word and was water baptized that way. For me, personally, afterward my spiritual eyes were indeed open. (John 3:3) I could "see" (understand) scriptures with greater clarity than in the past.
About ten years later God imparted the Spiritual gift of tongues upon me that was interpreted by another for edification of the church body. I had not been seeking the gift, however, was praising God in the worship service when He decided to use me to speak a message to the congregation.
Therefore, I have no doubt that, for whatever reason, God designed a salvation plan that includes mankind's need to obey the command to be water baptized and seek/receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

The idea that we must first be so focused or what some call focus on your kata that we are no longer aware of our surroundings I believe opens up the air way for the father of lies to bring in his signs as lying wonders gospel .What we do focus or meditate on is the word of God . It is alive and able to judge the intents of our hearts and not return void but work in us with us to give us the desires of our new hearts as a living hope that will not disappoint us.

We are informed that not only does the Spirit that lives in us and would never forsake us teach us continually as we pray without ceasing in this situation or that and do not harden our hearts. That he also brings to mind whatsoever he has taught us .

I idea of putting oneself into some sort of trance or ecstasy as a wonderment, I would suggest is not a part of the gospel. It would seem to be more of a eastern tradition of men that some have incorporated as a oral tradition into Christianity.

Believing prophecy, the gift of God demonstrated when two or thee gather together with the treasure of his authority that we have in theses bodies of death is having the mind of Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

.

When you are alone and in prayer, do you know why your mind wanders on other things, or why things happen when they should not?

The adversary is trying to distract you from actually being able to connect to God on a level where he cannot interfere. Knowing this much should be a valuable lesson to any believer. It's like being in a church service and it's nice, quiet, calm all throughout the service. But the moment when the pastor is trying to encourage anyone who needs salvation to come to the altar and things suddenly get more intense within our spirits, a couple of babies begin balling or someone for no reason has a coughing episode, or a child who sat patiently throughout the sermon now has to use the bathroom, just silly things seem to happen for no reason that cause a little distraction. I have heard preachers say, please take your child to another part of the facility because this is serious here. The pastor/preachers understand what is happening and they are trying to remove the distractions so we can be focused upon the meat of the situation at hand, someones possible salvation!!

My prayer is doing the same thing. I know who I am praying to. No matter how much I push in my spirit to get closer to God is not going to open the door to anything but who I am focused on. Just like praying at home. When it's been quiet all day, no one has tried to make contact with you, no one has tried to text you or visit you, no one has done anything that you should be thoughtful of. But the moment you set yourself to pray and worship, the phone rings, someone knocks at the door, someone decides this is the moment to rev their motor and lay down possy tracks in the street, or an out of normal noise is made from nowhere. It's these distractions that keep most believers from ever reaching higher and closer to God because they cannot stop thinking about them. It's like you go all day long and never think about the football game, but the moment you try to pray, the football game suddenly pops into your mind. There is no reason that football game ever should have popped into your mind at the time you decided to pray, when you have not thought about it all day. But Satan will do whatever he can to distract you. And if you let that distraction interfere, you might miss out on a blessing God wanted to give to you. But people let that distraction deter them all of the time. this is why it's important to pray as I have suggested!!

Is the prayer below highlighted in blue as that important to pray?

I truly believe that when someone actually is speaking in tongues genuinely, they do not even know it. They are so focused on God and nothing else or what's around them. They are lost within the presence and Spirit of God. And their native language just changes for no apparent reason.

Just like when you have been praying and someone lays their hands on you (you don't notice or feel someone has done this - but this is what did take place) and when you finally feel your prayer is over, you realize you are laying on the ground. Not that you were flipping around like a fish dying, you just were overwhelmed and the power humbled you. No one genuine ever wants to be on the floor where people walk in whatever and now you are laying on it. But if it happens and you find yourself there, i
t's a powerful reality to understand God's power and our strength are no match at all.

You say its a powerful reality to understand some unseen power? But How would you know for certainty unless you heard the voice of Christ as in all things written in the law and the prophets?

If this powerful reality is to understand the god of this world Satan's power through a sign and lying wonders then what?

When Jesus as the Son of man was faced with that decision in Mathew 4 , three times he said again and again as it is written and that angel described in Colossians 2:18 disappeared. There the Son of man weak in the flesh having no strength being strengthened by the father revealed to us not to let any man deceive us in that way. We are not to go above that which is written as if the sky was the limit as in just believe something

Experience is not the validator of unseen spiritual truths of God.

it would seem to be the new gospel of signs and lying wonders. needed to cause ecstasy as a wonderment.

Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,Colossians 2:18

First of all, the one certain gift of the Holy Spirit I have been blessed with is the gift of Discernment. So I would not be upfront praying, knowing that the possibility of a false preacher possessed by the enemy could be the one touching me. If I would be upfront, it would be to rebuke them.

And secondly, there would be a spiritual conflict I would notice immediately in my spirit, if a possessed false preacher stood before the sacred Pulpit and began to speak. I would begin Binding that person in the Name of Yeshua, while listening to see if scripture is being twisted and misinterpreted. And the moment I heard such, I would walk out and shake the dust off of my feet.

Where did you get the idea you can bind people in the name of Jesus? Is this another sign gift like touching people ? What do you bind them with? Will they be found lying on the ground overwhelmed by your power?

Not sure, but I believe the word, bind , is used today in place of the word, rebuke.

No matter, with faith of a mustard seed one is graced with many works from God.

It is a matter of unbelief of the Word to simply say another is not being true to the Word.

We are to believe all things when it comes to the glorifying of our Maker.

It could be used that way as a rebuke . But those who seek after outward signs as gifts associate binding as they do with slaying in the spirit. Human hands are needed for the show and tell performance.

It has been my personal experience in the ewalk given me that when it came time for my bing used for a miracle it was just that.

I was avilable, God took over and I simply did what came by the Spirit for me to be used for. The gift of knowledge at a time or two, the gift of healing also..........andmore.

When anyone confides in me something the Lord has done through them, I tend to believe until something tells me not to. So fat that has not happened.

It's sad that so many do not understand what you are expressing here. Many seem to think that they are seeing a contrived performance. When in fact, willing Christian vessels are spontaneously filled with an appropriate Spiritual gift by God to meet a specific need.

I used to wonder why me, who am I to be used for these work? Then it came to me in the Word, God uses that which is not to bring down tht which is, and the humble to bring down the proud…...and more. I knew I was NOT and boy did I feel humble.

People must understand God is not dead nor is His power no longer with men. Anyione who makes himself or herself available to the Father and in a serving situatio usually, will be used for things others call miracles. When I have been used, they seemed quite naturaql..

I agree. It sure is a humbling experience.
God is looking for willing vessels to flow through to express His love in various ways to those searching for Him and His truth. And Spiritual gifts flowing through believers will accomplish this task until Jesus returns on the last day and all is fulfilled.

The proper translation that gives glory to the Holy unseen place of faith is translated below. How it got turned upside down is a mystery .I suspect catholisicim or Judaism seeing they follow the same kind of upside down spirit .Making the Potter into the clay and the clay forming the Potter.

What we could bind on earth could never be bound in heaven. God must so the first works

Mathew 16:19 and I will give to thee the keys of the reign of the heavens, and whatever thou mayest bind upon the earth shall be having been bound in the heavens, and whatever thou mayest loose upon the earth shall be having been loosed in the heavens.'

The same when applied in Mathew 18 with all believers

Mathew 18:18`Verily I say to you, Whatever things ye may bind upon the earth shall be having been bound in the heavens, and whatever things ye may loose on the earth shall be having been loosed in the heavens.

Only Pentecostals and Charismatics hold to that doctrine. The genuine spiritual gift of tongues was evident during the Apostolic Age. God enabled men to SUPERNATURALLY speak foreign languages which they had never learned or heard. This was primarily to convince unbelieving Jews that the power behind the Gospel was that of God, and this was a sign gift, a miracle.

And as Paul made it crystal clear in 1 Corinthians (1) not all would have the spiritual gift of tongues, (2) those who spoke would need an interpreter within the assembly, (3) Paul would rather have spoken 5 words of prophecy than 10,000 words in tongues, and (4) women were to keep silence in the churches.
On the Day of Pentecost a flame resembling a cloven (split) tongue appeared above each person when the Spirit entered their body. This record in Acts points to a couple things considering each believer is to be God's dwelling place upon rebirth:

1. The Israelites knew when God was present in the darkness of night by the pillar of flame that appeared above the Old Testament tabernacle. (Exodus 25:8, 22, 29:43,40:34-38)

2. The cloven (split or divided in two) tongue appears to represent that there are two types of tongues: One as the initial evidence of the infilling of the Holy Spirit, and two; the Spiritual gift of tongues.

I find it fascinating that God takes control of the one thing man cannot control as evidence of His abiding presence; the tongue.
"For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
But the tongue can no man tame;" (James 3:7-8) However, with God all things are possible. (Matt 19:26)

As far as women keeping silent see Galatians 3:27-28. Jesus even appeared first to a woman and she carried the message of His resurrection to the men.

Yes many distractions. Not sure what it has to do with God bringing prophecy men refusing to hear it as a sign that confirm their unbelief?

That sign that followed (sign do not lead as that to be sought after ) would seem to represent they have the approval of God to represent the water of the word, the gospel .

1 Kings 18:38 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

The Apostles were indwelt in John 20. What happened in Acts 2 is know as being filled with the HS.

Concepts in God's Word are no laughing matter. Each and everyone of us will be judged by those words.
"He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day." John 12:48

"But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
20 BUT YE BELOVED, BUILDING UP YOURSELVES ON YOUR MOST HOLY FAITH, PRAYING IN THE HOLY GHOST,
21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen." Jude 17-25

What you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven(paraphrase)this seems to be another example of pride wanting special powers from God that 'ordinary' believers don't have. No more scriptural than 'pleading the blood of Jesus' over someone or something,

That sounds like it is influenced by Catholicism who turn things upside down and make man seen (Peter) the key that unlocks the interpretation of God the gospel which loosens those bound to do the will of the god of this world.

The proper translation is found in a couple other Bibles translations .The Youngs literal sets it straight. . turning things right side up.

The faithless Jews are know for turning things upside down walking by sight after the things seen hoping they could bind God's understanding that comes down for heaven And not inspired earthly for the devil the counterfeiter as that n bound in heaven .

Nothing can be bound on earth that was not first loosened from the unseen holy place.

Why the Catholic do stand Peter in the holy place as the abomination of desecration it is a mystery.

and I will give to thee the keys of the reign of the heavens, and whatever thou mayest bind upon the earth shall be having been bound in the heavens, and whatever thou mayest loose upon the earth shall be having been loosed in the heavens.'Mathew 16:19

Mathew 18 uses the same language in respect to all who hear the gospel.... not hear Peter

18 `Verily I say to you, Whatever things ye may bind upon the earth shall be having been bound in the heavens, and whatever things ye may loose on the earth shall be having been loosed in the heavens.Again, I say to you, that, if two of you may agree on the earth concerning anything, whatever they may ask -- it shall be done to them from my Father who is in the heavens, mathew 18: 18

I am amazed at all the translations (99% ) that supports false pride. You would have to believe it came from Catholicism. Men lording it over the non-venerable ones.... blaspheming the holy name by which we are called heavenward from where our salvation is loosed from..
