By the way,

Paul claimed what he taught was made known to Him by our Lord and Savior.
So, if Paul encouraged speaking in tongues, he bragged he did it more than anyone else, and it was a sign for unbelievers...Paul is claiming this is what Yeshua was saying, since Paul claimed Yeshua was the one inspiring his teachings!!

Well whats the problem then? If you believe the gifts are continuing, where is the rub?
The claim that everyone should speak in tongues. That tongues is widely active. That the powers of the Holy Spirit are under our control. Distorting the words of Luke and Paul.

A sign for the unbelievers to hear in their own language. Not a sign for other believers not to have a tongues revival in the church or any of that nonsense.

So, it's better to speak tongues on a street corner than within a church service?

you obviously are parroting someone with a very lacking background in biblical teaching on tongues here..I would hazard to guess that probably lacking in all the gifts would not be a wrong conclusion

tongues is both a sign and a gift

it's in the Bible and says just that

I don't know, but from the point of view of a person who speaks/prays and sings in tongues, telling me I have a kundalini spirit is a personal attack

now I know I don't participate in that sort of thing, but again, I do question what spirit is behind your thoughts on the matter

you just joined. there are many many threads on tongues here and you have said less than 0 that is new or that we all have not already heard and answered

not everyone swaggers about with the attitude you have though

almost every one of your 116 posts is anti tongues

clearly, you may have joined just to spread your false doctrine
When did I discount the gift of tongues? And thank you for telling me why I’m here.

I agree with you that not all speak in tongues. The Bible says that clearly.

Anyone who teaches you MUST speak in tongues to be saved is a heretic and should be removed from the Church for teaching that garbage. NOWHERE does the Bible say you MUST speak in tongues to be saved, NOR does it say if you DONT speak in tongues you are NOT saved.

Faith and repentance are the two components always mentioned when speaking of salvation over and over and over again. We must be careful of not doing a study on salvation by DEDUCTION. But rather on PLAIN CLEAR statements.

I am calling out what I believe is distorting the word of God as I’ve said many times. I’ve never judged anyone’s standing with God as you are doing with me.
is that before you called me a pig?

Yes so long as it’s in a language that will be understood by those that hear you and not gibberish.

Well, you may believe it. I cant see any scripture proof for this teaching.
I do not care if you can see it you clearly are not reading what was written by Paul in 1cor 14 :39 and what Jesus said in Mark 16 and Luke 11:13.

The disciples also had flames swirling around and resting over their heads. Why isn’t that sought after as a sign of being baptized in fire?
Good example. I would offer. Interestingly the tongues (plural) as more than one were cloven or separate as in many languages to represent our heavenly father the father of a multitude of nations or all the nations of the world Showing they had the approval of the Holy Spirit. It sat on each tongue as a language, 3000 souls heard the interpretation or prophecy and where born again given new spirit life that will never die.

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2

If we compare that spiritual understanding to a section of the old testament .In 1 Kings 18 picturing the Spirit of Christ calling lovingly commanding his born again people to repentance . hear me, Lord hear me, as he turn us towards Him so that we can in turn repent

Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.1 Kings 18:37-39

Licked up, raised honor to the author and perfecter of the faith of Christ, our new born again faith .

I also don’t believe baptism by the Holy Spirt is anything we need to seek or that it is separate from our salvation and the tongues enthusiasts proclaim.

you have already established yourself as more authoritative than the Word of God. I'm not shocked.

What about Paul's claim about the speaking in unknown tongues in matters to which no one will understand and it is acceptable?

2
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

In my opinion, heaven has its own language and we will speak that one day when we get there.
But I also believe when we speak in tongues, we can actually speak this new language to which no one understands but God.
This is what Paul is stating here!!
