OK.
This is right....
If we have faith, we will also have works.

So do the opposite...
IF we DO NOT have works....then there is no faith.

What good is it if we say we have faith but do not do works?
It's a DEAD FAITH.
Faith produces works.

No works...no faith.
Right?
If it's a dead faith that produces no works then is it a genuine faith to start with.
Is James not addressing this?

If we profess faith but no works.

Is that a genuine faith to begin with?

I did not add anything.......it is implied by the text and the comparison.....surely you are not that dense....when one makes a comparison between two objects it is not wrong to imply "LIKE A" wake up.......
IT DID NOT SAY...
LIKE A.

There's no like a...
We live by every word that comes out of the mouth of God.
YOU are not to change it.

P.S.
Jesus meant that He was willing to give up His life for us.
He loves us...He's God, right? God loves us.

What He meant was that He could have walked out of the Antonia Fortress if He wanted to.
IOW, He was taking the power away from Pontius Pilot.
Pilot thought he had power of the life of Jesus...
Jesus was showing him that he did not.

Is that enough study for you?
Now who is adding their own twist..........He means exactly what he said...HE laid it down of his own accord....he was not forced......

OSAS, that's the beef you have.

With me and our brother AW.
AW and I do not discuss it.
I respect others opinions..even when they're wrong!

I dont' know if that would be derailing....

She cannot grasp the truth that James is discussing a MERE belief in GOD as opposed to actual saving faith.....as a matter of fact MANY miss that point

YOU BELIEVE IN GOD.....EVEN demons BELIEVE in GOD <----a MERE belief in GOD that even the demons have, but NOT saving faith

and the context is SHOW ME YOUR FAITH <-----HOW can a MAN see the INVISIBLE saving faith that actually saves a man, but hey.....let's just twist the book into a working for salvation vanilla cake dogma...

NO, what you did was EXEGATED your own opinion and vanilla twist Fran
Study up on it.
Read some commentaries.
Maybe a book.
You teach I understand.

How would YOU explain what Jesus meant by saying that He was giving up His life willingly?

There you go again!

I'm talking about Genesis 12:1-4

And YOU insist on changing it to Genesis 15.

It suits you more, huh?

I like the whole bible...
I don't pick out only parts of it that I like.
Does not matter, Genesis, Romans, Galatians and or even JAMES.....it was FAITH alone that saved Abraham and that is what was put to his account for righteousness.......

You sure talk about me a lot...............I think deep down you know I teach the truth and you just want me to keep posting wisdom and truth so you can finally come out of the false religion that binds your hands......
Oh for goodness sake.
You know I'm just here because I love you.
I really do...you're my brother in Christ.
Even if you are all mixed up.

Which reminds me....
You like musical interludes...
